Just tried overnight oats for the first time, also my first experience eating oats
This is basically wet dog food, holy shit it's awful
Recipe I used was something like
>1C milk
>1tbsp PB2
>1/2 tsp cocoa powder
>.5C or 120ish g Greek yogurt
>1/8 tsp vanilla extract
>1 tbsp chia seed
>Can't remember how much oats, I think it was like 1/2 or 3/4 C of rolled oats
>1 packet stevia
I have all these oats, how do I cook them to make them bearable

eat them raw with yoghurt

I just throw some steel cut in the microwave and dabble some cinnamon on them and wash it down with 2 scoops. 600 Cals till I have a smoothie late morning.

You don't eat oats because they taste good even though I enjoy them with my plain white man taste buds.

egg tips:
- put a pinky nail worth of water in a sauce pan, boil it, GENTLY place eggs in, cover and lower heat to medium-high, let them steam for 9.5 minutes. GODLY eggs

- Taco Bell fire sauce is 0cal and amazing

- when peeling, crack the narrow end of the shell first, into a bunch of tiny cracks and drop one side to get big cracks, it just slides right off.

This is the only way to eat oats

Maybe you just don't like the viscous texture of overnight. Good news is that because you soaked the oats overnight they take much less time to cook. Just put them in the microwave for a few minutes to heat to them up and the texture will likely get more flowy.

Oh and if it doesn't try adding more liquid. Helps it floe more like regular cereal.

Actually best ITT, although it is a fairly large serving.. did you put unsalted butter in it? Why the fat lump, lol

Before you do that, try oats raw in plain yoghurt with a large banana or other fruit mixed in. Just these three, nothing else. Then judge the taste.

This was the easiest Veeky Forums thing for me to catch onto. My mornings look like this,
1. begin boiling water
2. dump rolled oats into bowl
3. add a couple of pinches of brown sugar (probably too much but I'm working on that)
4. add berries that are currently cheap or frozen
5. pour now boiling water into the bowl
Even if I wasn't trying to get the gains I think I'd still have oats for breakfast. Just so cheap and hearty compared to what I normally had.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll try them out.

Reporting in with cinnamon, whole milk, 2 banana and some honey. Would recommend this, simple and easy to make if you are in a hurry

It takes me a whole lot of time to eat fucking 100g (except when blended). I guess it would take me an hour to finish this

no. rolled oats are already cooked (steamed), so cooking again is unnecessary.

fundamentals: yogurt, honey, oats
godtier accessories: pieces of (green) apple and/or banana
great tier accessories: ??? maybe strawberries or any kind of berries really

I just put a cup of oat flakes on yoghurt and eat it like that. Cooked oat meal tastes awful compared to that crunchy goodness

my experience was exactly the same, oatmeal is just gross
i made tons of granola fwith nuts and seeds with my leftover oats, just use a sensible recipe
