Under specific circumstances. There have been other instances of more weight being lifted, but under different circumstances (meaning, some things were different about the lift). There have been some fuckhuge car deadlifts, and deadlifts objects of varying sizes with varying bars and varying gear. It's hard to discount everything, but it is true that Eddie Hall did the heaviest, most regular deadlift.

What happens with beginners is that they do SL twice a week.. SO THEY DONT GET ENOUGH UPPER BODY VOLUME AND THEY ONLY GET ENOUGH SQUATS.
