I dont get this. I've been cutting for the past 5 weeks now and only lost 2kg. I'm currently eating 1500-1700 calories a day (p 45%, c 30%, f 25%) at 5"11 214lbs. I lift 5 times a week. What gives?

I'm 6'1", 197lbs, doing 2200 kcal each day. Lift 4-5, cardio days per week.

2200 means I target to lose about a lbs per week, which I'm also doing.

You might not be counting correctly.

then why cut with -500 kcal if you can do this?

It feels that if I go anything over 2000 I just start gaining. I'm pretty sure my count is close to perfect, I use myfitnesspal to log everything I eat and also weigh every meal.

I'm not a novice to lifting by any means. I've been lifting for 4 years but this is the first time I'm really trying to cut. I played linebacker so a little extra fat didn't hurt but I don't playvanymore so I decided to focus more on aesthetics.

Not sure about bf% but seems like it's staying the same. I've thought about IF, but a 3 day fast seems rip

Add 100 calories for everything you input because you're probably wrong.

That's what I did and I was losing 3 pounds a week from 210lbs(6') to 165lbs.

Also make sure you're counting drinks unless you're only drinking water it's easy to forget.

I've taken many shits in the past week. I'm sure a lot of it is water weight because i switched from a dirty bulk to a clean cutting diet over the course of ~2 days. On cuts I typically land around 1900 cal/day and 7-10% bf

fasting is a meme and I cant understand how anyone can find it tempting EVEN IF it did work which it doesn't. you'd rather not eat at all for 3 days than go on a 500 calorie deficit? what the fuck is wrong with you?

Yesterday I ate 40g of oats & 200g of quark, 300g of chicken with 500g of noodles and bunch of veggies, protein shake and another 200g of quark. I've been eating pretty much only this every day and I'm sure it can't be much over ~1700kcal.

This might be far-fetched, but could it be possible that since I started lifting again 2 months ago after a year of not working out due to an injury, that I'm gaining back muscle at the same rate as I'm losing fat?

Noodles I do not understand, oats is fine pre workout but you should generally be staying away from carbs

I cut at 1800 at like 170 and 5'9 and I lose like 2-3kg of water weight in the first week easily.

Measured and weighd everything. I do have very slow metabolism, if that has anything to do with this.

500g of noddles is a lot of calories in itself, like 300-360 per 100/g.

Yes measured calories by 100g. The noodles that I eat only have 67kcal/100g.

How are you determining your weight? I bought a scale that tracks my weight and graphs it. I swear, when i look at my weight i feel like it is staying nearly steady over the course of a week or two. When i look at the graph and it tells me my average weight for each week I realize that I am actually losing weight fairly quickly.
