my friend's a big fan of strategy based games and has been buying a shit ton of stratagy tt games recently.
we started with x-wing fighters then onto star wars armada.
atm we've put together drop zone commander models and started painting them. it's a p fun game and a fair amount simpler than armada.
My friend's really brought me into it, it's great fun. Other than that just generic board games and a fair amount of DnD
