I find that using bodyweight as a measurement is so much more useful than plates. relative rather than absolute

It doesn't work once you get to high bodyweights though. Especially for deadlifts. For example a 600lb deadlift at 220lbs is just as impressive as a 500lb deadlift at 160lbs.

For me a respectable deadlift is when someone has good form, doesn't do that touch and go bullshit, doesn't drop the weight from the top, seems like they are in control of the weight, and doesn't grunt like they are hercules when they lift 3pl8.

If someone is fat I don't give a fuck what they're lifting unless it's at least 2/3/4/5 and even then I'd suggest they lose weight.

Depends on height. If you're manlet lifting heavy it doesn't matter as its only going 2 inches.

4 plate is pretty good for first year lifters.
5 plate is when you're pretty serious and lift more than pretty much anybody else in your gym (if you're in a normie gym, not fucking Westside).
6 plate is really fucking impressive if you're under 200 lbs, though still a good achievement if you're heavier.
7 plate is really fucking impressive for fatties.

600 lb is good on a 180 lb lifter
