If you want size then train for size. Lift for hypertrophy and fuck doing a beginner strength routine

You're a beginner. You don't actually know what you're doing and you'll likely end up just spinning your wheels and wasting your time. You're better off following a beginner strength program so you can get stronger and get bigger.

Plus the line between hypertrophy and strength gains is really more grey and gray than black and white.

Yes, I do hypertrophy with hardly any strength and became swole in 6 months. Strength also increased. I prefer working out this way. Some people respond better to hypertrophy and some strength, depends on genetics.

Here is how to get huge.

Do strength routine till you hit 1/2/3/4.

do lots of volume with heavy weight (1/2/3/4) slow and controlled reps.

God mode: hop on gear.

You won't be if huge but you can build decent muscle in a couple years.

That burn you feel from the slow reps is your connective tissue swelling :)

i'd suggest you combine a few bodyparts like chest/shoulder/core and do them after main lifts.

so basically you'd do your main lifts

and then pick 2 accessory movement and do them in 4x8-12 range

>lateral raise
>rear delt fly

exercises are just from the top of my head. look at some programs for BB and pick whatever you like/enjoy doing. hitting body part with isolations 2x per week should be enough since you're also getting some work done from main lifts. if you're doing a program that already has you do curls or chinups you can just skip them.

personally i'd suggest you do chinups/dips/LTE and maybe even curls after every main workout and before isolations (assuming you go 3x per week on MWF). if you are recovered for your next workout, great. otherwise lower the sets of accessories until you get used to the extra volume.

what i meant is to pick 2 movements from each group you're doing. so if you're doing chest/shoulder/core for example you'd pick

You can look swole without squatting and benching, but you will still have to apply progressive overload. You could build a great upper body just doing dips and pullups as long s you keep adding more and more resistance.
