Kettlebells are more fun for me. I have shit knees and ankles, so kb swings and snatches are pretty much my cardio. I wouldn't go out and buy a bunch unless you have an outlet that does $1/pound weights. That being said, you could just swing dumbbells or do overhead swings with a plate and get a feel for it
