Yeah, those things have like 3000 calories

this garbage is what we feed the troops?

Not really, no. Food in the military is actually pretty good these days

No, they don't.
No, that's a school lunch

they have 3-5k

have you actually had an MRE? Most of them are roughly 1500-2000 calories each
Also if you eat the whole thing u fat boi

I've always thought MREs would be protein heavy to help troops maintain their muscles, but then again they are emergency rations so it could be card heavy to simply get that life sustaining energy
so what is there nutrition profile typically like?

>No, that's a school lunch
This crap is what you feed your fucking children?

My god, no wonder americans are morbidly obese.

Not really an emergency ration, but meant to be consumed for *short* periods of time in a field environment. They have a good amount of calories because being in combat is supposed to need more energy.

They're like 50% carbs my guy. You can still bulk pretty well in boot since you get three of those fuckers a day, but they're not nutritionally optimal in the least bit.

They're all salt and carbs. They're horrible for you. By regulation, you can't eat them for more than 21 days straight without other food sources because of how little actual nutrition they contain. They're not meant to keep you fit, they're to keep you alive until logistics can support something better.

>oh wow, look at that
>mm, yeah that looks good
>lets uh, give this a try.
>...
>oh yeah, wow, that's awful

>Until logistics can support something better
>or congress decides to start funding the chow hall again
>or your deployment ends
You haven't appreciated food until you've eaten those fucks for three months straight

Your leadership failed you

>my leadership failed me
Thanks for cracking the case buddy

What were you thinking when you made this post?

I'm curious.

>he thinks you need much protein to maintain muscle
lmao I bet you use protein supplements too

>he doesn't know about Steve

...

>look at this! barely rancid at all
>lets give this a try
>oh wow, this is one of the best 40 year old rancid chocolate cubes i've had
>nice! not bad

>he thinks you need much protein to maintain muscle
But you do and obviously to make gains
>lmao I bet you use protein supplements too
Granted you don't really need these, but the importance of protein is underappreciated if not malinged or dismissed

that is what we feed negros and mexicans.

...

MRE are meant to be eaten on field/when necessary. mess hall food is usually alot better depending on the base.

>that is what we feed negros and mexicans.
And your own children as well.

Pic related, look at all that yummy food, such quality!

Ooooh, look at mr Science over here with all his evidence-based rationalism
