In fact, why is brine even an option? Why waste tuna by covering it in salty water?

I know what it is - I've never known anyone apart from my grandma who actually kept it around. I don't tend to fry things - if I do it's either using something light like vegetable oil, or some butter.

ultra simple and fast, somewhat decent (not revolting) tasting lemon tuna pasta:

get 1 lemon, make sure you get one that is uncoated, otherwise the lemon zest will taste like ass. Where i live, only the "organic" ones are uncoated.

Grate lemon zest, and take juice from 1 lemon in a pan. Heat extremely gently (from 0 to just a little heat basically, to be safe). Add a bit of olive oil, pepper and optionally capers and/or olives. Dunk can of tuna on top and mix that shit. Add in the pasta and mix. Eat.

Super fast, can be prepared and done while the pasta cooks.

I don't really like canned tuna that much, its super cheap and nutritionally very good though so I wanted to eat it. But I figured out a way that I can enjoy it.

Mix it up with eggs, onion and whatever else you want and make them into patties. It seems to make the flavour totally inoffensive to me
