I bought some of the serious steel bands for my home gym. Still holding up after a year, I'd recommend them.

Top part of the lift is the easiest part for raw lifters. Resistance bands are only useful for gear lifters because squat suit make the bottom part easier.

That's my point. No point of making the lift harder where you are stronger. Gear lifter use it because the lock out is the hardest part, because the squat suit no longer helps. Pause squat is a better accessory for raw lifters.
