Hi Veeky Forums I need some help. I've somewhat recently went vegan (3months ago) which was the best decision in my life. Lost tons of weight, astma is basically gone and have gotten really nice skin from it however i'm having trouble maintaining my weight.

I'm a DYEL who was obese not too long ago i'm having big trouble eating enough food. Anyhow do any of you know good high protein/KCAL smoothies that dont taste too bad? Thinking about a 1000-1500kcal 50-70g protein smoothie/drink or whatever to call it. Also all weight gain/weight maintenance tips welcome!!

Literally any type of nut/nut butter has about 500-650 kcal and 25 g protein per 100 g, so if everything else nutrition wise is met, literally just eat 200 g pb off the jar

Considering switching to healthy vegan diet has proven to be helpful against both acne/bad skin and astma and that both of those problems and it being the only lifestyle change I did I do find it extremely probable that the diet change were the cause.
I'm not too big of a fan of peanut butter but I will try. Do you know any tips on what to eat it with? :)

Then don't eat peanut butter. Eat almonds or walnuts or something. Snack on them as you're doing a menial job or something. You can go through 100g or 200 g like it's nothing.
Other protein and calorie heavy foods I can think of are seeds and seitan stir fry. You can also sautee onions ant then toss in tofu to scramble, to add some calories that way. Yeah, oil is kinda empty calories but tofu is loaded with micros so you should be fine.

Whatever you eat peanut butter "with" is only going to bring the caloric density down, which seems to be a matter of concern for you. Anyway, try a simple smoothie: 150 g pb, 2 ripe bananas, cocoa to taste, optionally some plant based protein powder like rice or pea, plant milk or water. Depending on the composition, you're looking at anywhere between 40 and 70 g protein and 1200-1400 kcal
Hemp, chia and flax seeds are also important for omega 3 and minerals. Google chia pudding almond milk berry recipes. They are the tits.

hey, vegan here too. if u want to maintain weight find out ur tdee and eat at that level, u can use a calculator.
rice oats bread and pasta are staple carbs and very calorie dense, really easy to get calories in with them. if u also need to get some extra calories in u can add olive oil to all your dishes u make. for protein u want legumes such as beans, chickpeas, lentils. and if vegetables and fruit are filling you up too quickly try getting them in a liquid form by getting fruit/vegetable juice or making your own. good luk brah

oh yeh i forgot, soy milk is ur freind u want to be drinking 1 to 2 litres a day which is 600-1200 calories. its very healthy for you and gopod macronutrient profile. plus u wont get gyno from it like u would with normal milk because its phytoestrogen not real estrogen which doesnt affect human estrogen levels

My diet is basically this
Breakfast(every day) 105g oatmeal 1 large apple 1 large banana and 3 tablespoons of flaxseeds
Lunch/dinner/snacks are bascially just me eating alot of fruits and maybe cooking some pasta/rice and eat it. I'm very lazy so I never cook "real food".
I wish but I live in Sweden so 1liter soy milk is between 3-5$ per LITER. and that's a lot for a poor boy like myself

Add peanut butter to your smoothies, or PBfit, which is peanut butter powder with less fat but higher in protein. Consider spirulina. Vegan protein powder. Kale, etc.

if you are not able to get enough iodine and vitamin a, thats not the problem of a vegan diet but pretty much you being stupid.

B12 is the only deficiency aslong as you eat your carrots and nuts etc. Even then, fortified plant based milks will fix the B12 issue if not supplements.

Although I do agree that a vegan diet is preferable in every way to a regular diet, I do have to say that it's kinda difficult at first to get used to eating vegan.
Not to mention how there's a bigger learning curve in making tasty food if you go vegan at first. Meatcucks can basically just put some spice and salt on a steak and have a delicious meal, vegans have to be a bit more creative.

im in the middle of just trying to correct my eating habits in general, daily nutrients etc.
so im very much a beginner.

should i just stick to 20 mins of walking/jogging with some light exercise like pushups before i start intentionally trying to cut or bulk?
i don't move regularly at all and want to fix it.

If you're fucking underweight means you are unbeliveably weak. You getting more skinny will just make you look like a disgusting skeleton. Go to the gym do Starting Strength if you can't squat do other leg excerices to compensate. And you should EAT as much as possible seriously. Atleast untill your BMI is in "normal" range just eat everything. Eating is important af
