How strong are you when you build muscles only doing bodyweight excerices? BW works great for some people but are they as strong as autists doing SS?

Coach Sommers and anecdotes from here, the foundation forums and reddit suggest thay with proper BW training you can get bretty strong, but if your goal is strength, you're better off getting a barbell and weights.

BW won't get you as strong as doing weight training in a gym can, no.
But nobody with a brain does BW to get strong.
BW is to get good at bodyweight movements, which are just as functional as absolute strength, just in different areas.
I would say in life or death situations, BW strength will save you more often than absolute strength would. Not that its reasonable to train for that purpose but whatever.

you can't compare the two at all. BW builds strength for BW skills and lifting for lifting
youll get strong at body weight but it wont help you much in lifting seeing as its completely different from bw.
as someone who actually does bw and touches waits every once in a while my doms are god tier afterwards.
it has made my dumb bell shoulder press go up significantly however, hspu's are neat
