>Too much eggs are bad for your cholesterol levels.
No they're not.
Eggs will not cause your cholesterol to rise
Dietary cholesterol has no effect on blood levels of cholesterol
stir fry chicken
A can of 99 cent kidney beans has about 40 grams of protein. Chuck that in a salad or brown rice and you got yourself a cheap, low fat, high protein meal.

Making Greek yoghurt from milk in bulk
I pay three bucks for milk and make several kilos of Greek yoghurt a day. All the gains fats and protein I want.
how do you make yogurt?
Eggs aren't bad for your cholesterol dude, what the fuck
Genuinely curious, how do you make yogurt in bulk?
Egg whites
On the stove, in a cast iron pot with a lid. Google it, you fat fucks. It's easy and delicious.
You'd think Veeky Forums would be full of stuff like this but its always fast food memes
i'm asking for what you do, not google
You need
1 large pot
A few litres of milk
A large jar
A sample of yoghurt for the culture
A t shirt to strain it
Heat the milk on a low setting for about 45 minutes to pasteurise it then wait for it to cool until it's not unbearable to dip your finger in it.
After that you put in a tablespoon or two of yoghurt sample, mix it and place it in the jar to set overnight.
After its set pour the product into the tshirt over a strainer and leave it for another 12-18 hours in the fridge to strain
Then enjoy your Greek yoghurt. It's a long process so you gotta make a lot to make it worthwhile. Adding powdered milk to the mix while it's boiling makes a thicker product
OP here, did some research after you guys told me eggs weren't bad for your cholesterol. Well all these studies claim that eating 1 egg a day is ok but eating more increases the risks of a stroke or hearthfailure.
Am I missing something?
>Oh fuck, my hearth
Could you then use the yogurt you made as the sample culture for making more yogurt?
>Too much eggs are bad for your cholesterol levels.
And memes are bad for your brain
>What are some other easy to make and cheap meals that contain a lot of protein?
Eggs. And meat. And milk. Animal products basically

Yes of course. But be warned! Yoghurt is a living thing and each generation is slightly different from the last. Over time your sample will evolve and dilute into a shitty sour runny mess
Yes, that's how fermented foods have been made for millenia.

Surely by these you mean:
>I do not read
What specifically is there to read in there that pertains to this topic?
Hmm...maybe you should read and find out; and do your homework like you should have done before shitposting. At least you're starting to ask the right questions to get you started
>Hmm...maybe you should read and find out;
Sure, just point me to where exactly the info about eggs/dietary cholesterol is
can you use normal supermarket greek yogurt for the sample?
>thinking about cholesterol at all
go away grandpa
Any plain yoghurt is fine. Greek yoghurt is just normal yoghurt with the whey taken out.
thanks for the help, i'll try it out soon
>Didn't read again
Literally in my first post. Here's more with some info about eggs along some more handy dandy info about animal protein and fats
>authoritynutrition.com
>authoritynutrition.com
>chriskresser.com
So with all of these surely now you can stop asking abut where to find basic diet and nutrition information you should have learned in school
Most of what you're posting doesn't seem to be about eggs
>Too much eggs are bad for your cholesterol levels
Hi mom.
I've always wondered how blind people used the internet. Please do tell how you do it user
Okay, pick out something one of the articles says about eggs
Why should I do that, for you, when you can now even more easily do it.
That looks repulsive, wtf.
testosterone is made out of cholesterol. More the merrier.
$3 of milk makes several kils of yogurt? That sounds like you're violating the first law of thermodynamics
>Why should I do that, for you
Because you're sharing your opinion and by doing so we can discuss the topic
>dat broscience
Yes it does and that's retarded
Not him but here's what I do.
Heat up milk to repasteurize. Don't let it boil. Stir to prevent burnt coating on bottom of pan. Reduce heat until milk is slightly more than body temperature. Add like 1 cup yogurt. Stir. Set in a cool dark place with a lid. Do not let it move in any way or yogurt will not set properly. Temperature will determine flavor of yogurt. Warmer=more sour.
After 12 hrs should have some yogurt. Put in fridge for a few days without touching it so it finishes firming up.
This is literally outdated nonsense thats not backed on any scientific fact
I've eaten over half a dozen eggs and bacon as my post workout meal for a year now.
My recent cholesterol check came back excellent.
All you need is meat, nuts and vegetables bruh.
...
>1992
Yup. Outdated. This was when they were still using the old food pyramid that told you to eat mostly carbs and fucking sugar.
Eggs yolks are straight good cholesterol, you can eat as many as you want and in no way will they negatively affect you
You know what actually kills people? Being fat and diabetic. Eggs aren't going to do that, and neither are beans. Eat whatever the fuck you want.
So what you're saying there was a scientific basis for it in 1992, and now the research is invalid. Please explain how.
>This was when they were still using the old food pyramid that told you to eat mostly carbs and fucking sugar.
Carbs from whole foods like whole grains and legumes, while refined sugar is in the "eat sparingly" section, but that has nothing to do with the paper anyway. Go on.
Because, like many scientific theories from previous times, things change as more evidence comes to light and out understanding of hows things work increases
>In these studies, people are split into two groups… one group eats several (1-3) whole eggs per day, the other group eats something else (like egg substitutes) instead. Then the researchers follow the people for a number of weeks/months.
T>hese studies show that:
>In almost all cases, HDL (the “good”) cholesterol goes up (6,7,8).
>Total and LDL cholesterol levels usually don’t change, but sometimes they increase slightly (9,10,11,12).
>Eating Omega-3 enriched eggs can lower blood triglycerides, another important risk factor (13,14).
>Blood levels of carotenoid antioxidants like Lutein and Zeaxanthin increase significantly (15,16,17).
hsph.harvard.edu
>the richest sources of dietary cholesterol—eggs also contain additional nutrients that may help lower the risk for heart disease. In addition, the moderate amount of fat in an egg, about 5 grams, is mostlymonounsaturated and polyunsaturated fat. It’s also crucial to distinguish betweendietary cholesterolandcholesterol in the blood, which are only weakly related. The focus on dietary cholesterol alone was de-emphasized as more attention was placed on the influence of saturated and trans fat on blood cholesterol.
>Accordingly, theDietary Guidelines for Americans 2015removed the prior recommendation to limit consumption of dietary cholesterol to 300 mg per day. [1]
>Because, like many scientific theories from previous times, things change as more evidence comes to light and out understanding of hows things work increases
So what changed?
>>In almost all cases, HDL (the “good”) cholesterol goes up (6,7,8).
So now you agree dietary cholesterol affects blood cholesterol. HDL may go up slightly, but the rise is disproportionately as LDL
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
>>Total and LDL cholesterol levels usually don’t change, but sometimes they increase slightly (9,10,11,12).
Pic shows the first study cited here. You can design a study in a way that minimizes the chance of finding a significant association, or dulls down the impact.
>>Eating Omega-3 enriched eggs can lower blood triglycerides, another important risk factor (13,14).
Compared to non omega-3 enriched eggs? Oh boy, your arteries are saved
>>Blood levels of carotenoid antioxidants like Lutein and Zeaxanthin increase significantly (15,16,17).
Hilarious to include. They increased "significantly" from low levels to low levels, and guess what that research shows as a side effect?
ajcn.nutrition.org
>Egg yolk supplementation increased plasma LDL-cholesterol concentrations by 8–11%
>The benefit of introducing these carotenoids into the diet with egg yolk is counterbalanced by potential LDL-cholesterol elevation from the added dietary cholesterol.
Now explain the dozens of controlled feeding trials summarized in that meta-analysis that show clear increases in LDL from dietary cholesterol intake.
>the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2015removed the prior recommendation to limit consumption of dietary cholesterol to 300 mg per day. [1]
This is mistaken actually. The dietary guidelines advisory committee, not the USDA who publish the guidelines, recommended removing the cholesterol limit. This caused the USDA to be hit with a lawsuit because many members of the advisory committee had financial ties to the egg industry
businessinsider.com
The final dietary guidelines (published after that article) recommend eating as little dietary cholesterol as possible
choosemyplate.gov
That graph is a big stretch in interpretation.
The study title says people who are already high in cholesterol yet you choose to act like it was something hidden for point number 2. You are doing that to just make more lines on your graph and make it look more menacing.
Your "objective interpretation" is retarded. Yes egg substitute is better but it does not say at all that regular eggs are as bad a sausage and cheese anywhere in there, while for the substitute it says directly that it is better.
And then you make a point to say sasuage and cheese are the worst things they could think of to compare too. Wonderful opinion. But it's just that. An opinion. So really only the points about the egg people paying for the study and that egg substitute is better for you should actually be there.
Way to scaremonger. Retard.
You are one of those people that even if you are right, people just dont like you so much that they will never let you actually be right.
>Your "objective interpretation" is retarded. Yes egg substitute is better but it does not say at all that regular eggs are as bad a sausage and cheese anywhere in ther
"egg consumption had no effects on endothelial function as compared to sausage/cheese (0.4 +/1 1.9 vs 0.4 +/- 2.4)"
As in they were as bad as one another
>while for the substitute it says directly that it is better.
Yeah, egg whites are better, because they don't contain dietary cholesterol, which is bad for your arteries and serum lipids.
>And then you make a point to say sasuage and cheese are the worst things they could think of to compare too. Wonderful opinion. But it's just that. An opinion.
Now you're defending mcmuffins.
Sardines+ boiled egg on a cracker.
Fuck your egg phobias
>Now you're defending mcmuffins.
nice strawman there Dorothy..
So you refuted 1 point and built a strawman out of another. The point about you scaremongering people to get your way still stands. All in all. 2/10 response.
>he doesn't get his nourishment from the life force of other creatures unborn children
Lentils my man, I like making a corn salad and throwing them in.
The study refers to it as a "sausage/cheese breakfast sandwich." It impaired endothelial function to the same degree as 3 eggs. Meanwhile, feeding these hyperlimidemics a food without saturated fat or cholesterol improved their endothelial function and lowered their cholesterol levels, as you would expect.
You can agree with me now, yes?
Cool mom science, dude.
It actually doesn't. Read any nutrition text from the last 5 years.
I'm pretty sure no one should take any form of advice from Jamie on anything, but his blog sure was fun to read.
I can't wait for you nu-wave cholestoral shills to kill yourselves.
Ive been eating 5-6 eggs a day and my results from the doctor were good
You actually fell for the goddamn meme ... Jesus
For me, it's Greek yogurt
Wrong.
I eat fucking 6-8 eggs a day and my cholesterol is normal levels and my resting heartrate is 50
Back on the swimteam we swore this guy was on steroids because he was fucking jacked. Turns out it was just nutella before and after workout
>dat broscience
Are you a brainlet? A cholesterol is a steroid (4 carbon rings), testosterone is also a steroid. Learn some basic biology.
>therefore, the more cholesterol you eat, the more testosterone you have XD
By the same logic, eating lots of eggs will make you a trap because estrogen is also synthesized from cholesterol
Have we gotten to the post about 36 eggs a day yet?
Your anecdotal evidence goes straight in the trash.
How does the milk become Greek
This doesn't make any sense. The copypasta was about giving her a bowl of eggs.
heh, like im going to spoonfeed you, heh
don't think so
Greek yoghurt+ a scoop of protein
Unironically got the idea from Piano
And I just did so, with links, and now you can read them
It's not broscience
Except that's a meme
His anecdotal evidence is backed up by science
Test is actually synthesized by cholesterol. If you are deficient in chol your body won't be able to produce test as efficiently
No? Lol
I ate a few eggs and I died. Don't be like me.
Egg fags btfo itt
I made that once, it's delicious.
You will never be deficient in cholesterol even if you eat 0mg of cholesterol each day. Like every animal in the world, your body makes the cholesterol it needs.
You could just eat the eggs without the yolk, the egg white is just brotein.
I make 4 eggs but only include 1 or 2 yolks, every morning. It's as cheap or on par with protein shakes in price. At least here with the price of things.
whata waste of yolk, it'll be all over the plate and not doing anything useful in your gut
CAN YOU GUYS SHUT THE FUCK UP? YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT NUTRITION AND ESPECIALLY NOT CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE SO SHUT THE FUCK UP UNTIL YOU HAVE ACTUALLY RESEARCHED THE SUBJECT. YOU'RE ACTUALLY GIVING OUT ADVICE THAT KILLS PEOPLE. FUCKING CHRIST GUYS STOP BEING RETARDED
also yes all animal products (including meat) is bad for your heart. If you absolutely refuse to give up your meat at least try to minimize it and eat lots of fiber. Also watch "What The Health" on netflix, it will blow your mind.
Dietary cholesterol and blood cholesterol are not directly related. Learned than in both my basic Nutrtion and sports Nutrtion class
LOL they are directly correlated aspie, the American College of Cardiology agrees
So is this the new epic trole? Claiming eggs are bad for health?
Read the thread before posting
It's trolling in the same way it's trolling to go to a Christian message board and state that evolution is fact
But evolution is just a theory.
Evolution is a fact. The theory of evolution by natural selection is a theory, but for all intents and purposes is also a fact.
i eat my 5 eggs a day and i am fine and i like it and it tastes great and i will continue to do so
Its just a theory. ie it isn't proven
Is it really trolling though? My whole life I've always been told that too many eggs are terrible for your cholesterol (yolk, not the egg whites.)
