Run

Could you elabourate?

... do the fucking basic training workout? Pullups, pushups, crunches, and run like a motherfucker. Maybe practice deepthroating dildos since that's all you'll be doing for the next four years.

What a pointless thread.

Anyone have tips to prepare for OCS?

I was previously an enlisted Marine, and will be finishing university soon.

I would appreciate any tips from anyone who has done OCS, especially USMC OCS.

Don't be so hostile, people may have decent advice.

everyone i know that did basic and ocs says its just about the same shit. not that that makes it any better. on the bright side people wont hate you as much since you're prior enlisted

>getting Veeky Forums for the military
What else is there to do besides the basic training regimen? Come on.

Maybe advice on this board superior? I don't know, man. I just want to get the maximum amount of information on the topic.

>people wont hate you as much since you're prior enlisted

Oh yeah, I know what it's like getting shit on as a junior enlisted and I know how to communicate with and allow NCO's operating freedom since I was one as well.

Are there any bodybuilders in the military?
also body weight exercises are the way to go

Military kills gains unless you have some version of a desk job, there's exercises where you're outside for days or weeks and your only sport is running which every faggot does.
I would try to not get "military fit" because it's just asking for dyel hood and at best ottermode

Tons of people bodybuild on their off time. Or at least do similar workouts. Most of them are POGs though due to them having a typical 8-5 job in an office. Grunts tend to be skinnyfat or just skinny.

Most officers are into Crossfit or some trendy nonsense. But they usually PT on their own.

lame
i thought there would be like one guy who could use a mini-gun unmounted

Absolutely true, grunts aren't built. POGs are always the biggest guys around. But if somebody is trying to go to bootcamp they should probably just accept ottermode until they're a some POG clerk and lifting is all they do outside of pushing papers

do a lot of cardio and bodyweight training

Military fitness consists of running and basic calisthenics.

Basic training will kill your gains. I lost 15 pounds, most of it muscle while I was there. You'll get it back afterwards but unless you're chubby/out of shape going in you won't have any issue at all.

Just make sure you can do like 40 pushups, 50 situps, and run a couple miles in under 20 minutes before you go in just so you don't have to stress about meeting standards.

What branch are you going into?

That just it?

anyone got any advice on how to dive 4-5m?
I can only dive around 2-2,5m currently dont know what to do to get further it feels like everytime i go down i only manage to move like 0.5m per swimROM.

DON'T FIGHT FOR ZOG

Invest in ear plugs, and swim more. Fat is less dense than water, let alone sea water so try to practice in a pool before going out at sea. Try reviewing your swimming form as well.

Good luck.

I have a really hairy ass ¿Should i shave it?

Honestly, I found basic training fitness to be pretty easy. Like has been said already it's a lot of cardio with some push ups and sit ups thrown in there. Make weight and be in somewhat decent shape and you won't have a problem.

Grunts usually have either a thick runner build, or a skinny fat build, but either way have real functional strength to carry shit.

It's not all about big muscles.

Look up FitnessFAQs and watch hos bodyweight stuff. That's about it, I'm in the same boat. All we have to get good at is running, pushups, pullups, and modified crunches. Forget everything else outside of the big compound lifts if you want to keep lifting. Train mainly for those 4 things. Hope you got a high score on your ASVAB so you can actually make gains, bro.

Find an army field manual and do what it says. Available free online.

If you dont mind me asking a few questions.
1. rank
2. mos
3. whats your PFT/CFT
4. how well do you do with ruck runs
5. any injuries
6. any 6105's or NJP
7. winter or summer timeline

If I go in with bulk will it kill my gains? I heard from someone that it's best to go in with a nice paunch so that you don't lose your muscle during boot camp.

Can confirm, stationed in 29 palms. its 115 on any given day and i frequently see skinny fat 03's doing PFTs in boots and ots with flaks. shits kinda insane when you really think what the body is capable of.
mostly they are pogs and staff sergeant and up. my 1st sgt is a straight up competition body builder. there is a GySgt here that teaches the little jew's how to get big and look good doing it since he competes as well.

in 29 palms the only thing to do is work, work out and order dominoes

BTW what full body workout can you recommend for me, gonna spend a few weeks in field - so no more gym

Is 29 Palms really that shit? I keep hearing that it has a great location and that it's near Las Vegas and blah blah blah.

Been here for 13 months so far. lets see.
to go anywhere you have at least a 2 hour drive.
there is no green anywhere
gyms are always crowded
people pull rank all the time, literally- just to get a haircut a cpl was booting out the schoolhouse marines
the navy here are so entitled and obese it ... just pisses you the fuck off
the elevation and heat will steal the energy outta you - expect you run time to go up by 3 minutes.
restrictions on libo are just that, restrictive.
its a comms schoolhouse so you are constantly aware of that fact.
more shinies in 10 sqaure meters than in your worst nightmares
desert yetis are a thing
the best local attraction is crappy mexican food and midget mud wrestling at the casino.
its not the worst, but it is what you make of it. Joshua tree park is right outside the gates and it has some of the best hiking i have ever seen, people in town are actually nice if you dont be an asshat bragging about being in the military

forgot to mention. paintballing, cheap movies and an excellent woodshop and auto shop. again its what you make of it.

Eclub sucks though

You wont get fucked with as much since you were prior enlisted. But its basically boot camp with essays.

buffdudes.us/blogs/news/25290561-punisher-prison-bodyweight-workout

Run, like a lot.

(you'll get peer evaluations at the end so dont be a dickbag to everyone if they happen to not 'perform to your standards')

Run.

A lot.

Everyone agrees that the E club went to shit when they did away with the bloodstrips NCO club. Now its just e-4's scooping up every e-2 with a hole and railing them out in the barracks.

The hiking is nice though.

There isn't much to know. If you bothered doing any research yourself, you would know that the main things you have to be good at are running, pullups, and crunches. Want to know how to get better at those? By doing them. The big secret has been revealed.

If you're going Marines, look up what the CFT is and do exercises which compliment it.

I've spoken to Officers and one thing they've mentioned is they do a decent amount of hiking. git gud at that.

this guy's got it

never been a more true statement. honestly though its hard to blame the female sailors and marines.

they were never 'lookers' growing up and now they are the only game in town and therefore insta10's. given that and the fact that all the males have to be at least a certain level of fitness, it gives the females a candy store mentality with an over inflated ego

Running and body weight, it's not that hard 90% of people there are out of shape. Also learn to run whilst holding in a shit.

Before you go yea, you won't get time to shave down there during basic. I just hope you're a slow grower.
