Deadlifting in gym

>deadlifting in gym
>entire class of future pe teachers barges in
>4 of them start chuckling around me
>I've been studying buff dudes please it can't be me right
>one of them inevitably comes up to me and tries to correct my form
>th-thanks
>still don't understand what I've been doing wrong this whole time

I'll never make it bois

cool story bro

Why are you such a weak, pathetic, useless, worthless, forgetful, pathetic cunt?

what cues did he give you? You should get a side on view video so you can see any problems. It's amazing the kinds of details you pick up when you can see yourself from a third person perspective.

He told me that the bar was too low.

>be 18
>deadlifting
>not very much but decent for my age
>skinnyfat guy comes into the weight room
>see him observing me for a couple of sets
>finally comes over
>starts tell me my what i'm doing wrong
>actually listen to him because he might have some good points
>spews complete garbage
>smells horrible, like he wore his workout clothes 4 times already
>almost puke from the smell
>say thanks and put my headphones back in
>he waddles away with a superior look on his face

I'm 99% sure that guy was a Veeky Forumsizen. From the look of him i'd be surprised of he could DL his own bodyweight.

Long story short, a lot of people who critique others have no fucking clue what they are talking about. Keep improving your form, but don't listen to every faggot that thinks he knows shit

Tell him to shove the bar up his ass, what point did he say it was "too low" if you were doing at least 1pl8 (oly bar and two 20kg/45lb) then the bar should be resting at a decent height when you pull it off the ground. Just make sure to focus on keeping a tight core and a straight back, don't flex too hard for the latter, you don't want to hyperextend. Also engage your lats a bit by holding the bar as close to your shins as possible as you rise.
But to re-iterate, I really recommend getting a video for the sake of form checking, either from yourself or you could post form checks in a QTDDTOT thread.

You sound like Alan Thrall

Thanks.
No it was just 10kg plates.

>40kg deadlifts

So he was right then. With 40kg the bar is too low.

Thanks I'll try with 20kg plates. I just wanted to start low.

You better be a fucking girl

then yeah, the bar was too low
use proper plates or rest the plates you are using on other plates

also
>deadlifting less than lmao 1 dish

Also, which parts of the body are you supposed to train with deadlift?

Every part

Bar height is 20cm~ off ground. I DL 15cm~ off ground. Never had an issue.

READ THE FUCKING STICKY

It's a deficit deadlift, it's fine.

shit dude im a fucking girl and i did 1pl8 my first time at the gym

not if you're a complete noob to deadlifting as OP sounds and likely to not have much mobility etc yet

The things is, if you really are that weak you should try building a platform, maybe with the step platforms you'll see lying around.

I'm not that weak. I just never tried to go higher for some reason.

This, also you could use plates to rest it on.
but also this, unless you are seriously skinny/weak a 1pl8 deadlift shouldn't be out of the question for any full grown male.

What's 1 p8 in kg.

60kg

OK so 2 20kg + the bar

It gave me my first
>trap doms
Was I doing something wrong?

Just lift more than all the coaches and they are never going to bother you again.
The personal trainer at my gym asks me advices on his lifts and nutrition whenever I'm lifting.

What did he try to tell you?

This is the true deadlift form for you DYELs

My back hurts from watching this

>it's fine bro I got a belt

Set stance, bar midfoot
Bend knees slightly
Set grip
Float the bar / lats in pockets / set your back
Pull
Lockout

Basically just set your hips in a good position and don't dick it up by ego lifting.

don't let Veeky Forums bully you into increasing weight too quick. who cares if it takes you an extra month to max out your noob gains. practice the technique first so you lower the risk of snap city when you get to higher weight
