i do parallel bar leg raises 3x a week, 4x8 and failure is normally hit on rep 7 or 8 of the 4th set.

just started this while bulking so can't comment as to its effectiveness, but i'm sure when i cut again my abs are gonna look joocy.

the reason i like this is because the are quite difficult to cheat - your lower back will never take over when your abs tire and the parallel bars stop a lot of swinging (and shoulder pain for me) that can happen with hanging.

Progressive overload just like any other muscle. Do 5 sets of reps to failure on your knees. Once you can do reps on your feet, mix them in with your knee sets until you can do 5 sets of rollouts from your feet. Once you can do more than 5x20 from your feet, you'll need to start adding weight to your back.

I can do leg raises with knees slightly bent. Do you do them approximately half way or all the way to the top of the pole? You're working other muscles once you go above half way.

When you get stronger try to straighten your legs a bit every time.
Try to keep strict form,no knee bending.

I've been doing them for a little while. They've definitely been good for my abs, but they are tough on the back. All I can suggest is that you do them in a slow and controlled motion and make sure your spine is straight and locked before you begin the upward movement.

Should I lean a lot like I was stretching? Or just lean a little bit and then lift?

I'm jealous of guys because I love working out and I want to be swole but I'm 4'11 and muscles would look ahitty on me. I already like my ass and basically only go to the gym now out of routine. My lifestyle is complwtely sedentary aside from the gym.

I never do any isolation for my abs. Deadlifts, squats and bent over rows works fine. And obviously diet.
