hopefully not

hopefully yes

Perhaps

I was at seminar with one of the judges and there is a chance if there will be ZERO drug tested athlethes who scored positive in one year

so its prob not going to happen as we have 15yo retards from USA who were on juice and got busted

Maybe, it's grown alot these recent years but it's still not a big sport.

Seems better than oly lifting since it's far more accessible.

There's hardly any gyms near me with oly equipment but pretty much any commercial gym you can powerlift at

They're probably gonna kick out weightlifting at some point, so maybe they could do it as a replacement.

Or not, nobody really cares about barbell sports.

what do you think the special olympics is for?

maybe because weightlifting is an actual sport compared to powerlifting which a literal retard could do

I hope not. Requires 0 athleticism.

No, it's barely a sport and very boring to watch.

So running is not an actual sport ?

>wanting fat sacks of shit in the olympics

Apologize

Meanwhile your average oly lifter

more female braphogs from all over the world?
god i hope so

Delet!

You do realize that every single weightlifter that competes in the olympics is on gear? Gear is just an excuse for them to not include PL, its really about some committee politics.
Powerlifters dont use gear any more than oly lifters.

this, actual olympic weightlifters do everything better at a lower bodyweight

fucken hope not

Powerlifters have more strength though. Its almost like one is a sport focused on technique and the other on pure strength.

I'm sure there's some natty shit ones knocking about

I doubt it. Clarence himself said you cant even make it into the olympics as natty. And ive heard the same from oly lifters at my gym too.

Most people aren't impressed by how much you can reduce your ROM, even if you're setting world records.

Not bench

I think you have to do the sport yourself to be able to grasp what kind of explosive monsters compete in the olympics.

nope! they made the mistake of including strongman lifts at the start of the olympics. Won't do it again

Even my waifu Zoe Smith

No.
>It's boring as fuck, no one would watch
>It would take too long since there are three lifts
>There's Olympic weightlifting already

>with oly equipment
lol you just need a barbell, plates, and a platform

Half of the olympics are boring as shit to watch anyway.

There's the reason why weightlifting is at risk of being removed from the olympics. They absolutely won't add Powerlifting until weightlifting gets their shit under control. But as things currently stands both sports are roided to shit.

Not that a lot of other olympic sports aren't on gear for that matter. They're just popular enough that the olympic committee is more willing to look away.

Hardly any of the gyms near me have platforms and only plates only a specialised oly club and cross fit places

A lot of gyms are pretty cramped for the free space you need to weightlift safely. Plates and floor also has to accommodate for the unavoidable barbell slamming.

Another reason powerlifting is more accessible:
Any gym goer who gives a decent shit are gonna be familiar with bench squat dead and probably have alright technique. Clean&Jerk and Snatch are gonna look like horseshit unless you've got a coach and patience to practice very technical movements for hours. Any faggot can bench press or deadlift with 0 experience just looking at the movement, and improve over time.

All sport is boring to watch

Pretty much all sport where there's no "battle" between the competitors is generally unpopular to watch and doesn't have a lot of money in them. Team vs team ball sports or fighting is more interesting to watch than some dude competing against nothing, just lifting a barbell or throwing a spear.

This. That's why weightlifting is about to get kicked out of the olympics and no one does it anymore.

yeah you already got a spot at the olympics
the special olympics

FUCK YOU

It's about to get kicked out of the olympics because the amount of athletes failing drug tests in the last few years is absolutely farcical

Sorry manlets.

What is the point ? Powerlifting is literally half assed olympic weightlifting, it is like a training session for medals

technique beats strength every time, ask a powerlifter to throw a javelin, chances are it woint fly very far, ask a javelin thrower to bench press, he will probably bench quite a lot

God I hope not.
Powerlifting has too many issues that just makes it look retarded to outside viewers. The squat depth controversy is CONSTANTLY being discussed and makes no sense. I watch so many WR lifts and I just don't even remotely understand how they judge the lifts to be legit even after looking up the info.

Another thing is the bench press, especially with women, who can just get implants to reduce ROM and break their back to get an arch and reduce ROM even further. These lifts look absolutely ridiculous to outsiders, and making them in the official Olympics would get lots of newcomers doing all this retarded shit in their local gyms.

>The squat depth controversy is CONSTANTLY being discussed and makes no sense.

Not in the IPF it isn't

well a javelin thrower probably benches to train while a powerlifter wouldn't bother practicing throwing something so insanely niche

Incorrect. Technique is the ability to express strength. A weak guy can never ever outhrow a stronger guy if the technique is similar. Which is why you sometimes see strong guys trying oly lifts and they just muscle up shitloads of weight.

I'd rather have a power, skill, and conditioning pentathalon of
>Clean and jerk
>Weight for height
>Shotput
>Sled pull
>Wrestling

Powerlifting is boring as fuck I'd much rather have a sport that would attract crossovers of shotputters, heavy weight wrestlers, and strongmen where you get to see a combo of technique and athletic performance.
