Thicc

Legit. Takes an 18/6 schedule from 12:00 to 6:00, you skip an entire meal (breakfast) and eat lunch and dinner, with no snacking after dinner. It cuts a bunch of calories out of your day.

Then after a week or so of adjusting to the schedule your body learns hunger management and you no longer get uncontrollable hunger pangs between meals. I've lost about 20 pounds in a month doing it but I also lift and have a labor intensive job where I use my FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH (isn't a meme boys).

Meme

And you manage to get all the protein in 2 meals? what about traini g on empty stomach?

pale skin, thick and red head...dayumn

legit. lost 30lbs in 2.5 months using 18/6 method. Eating window 1300hrs-1800hrs. Didn't change diet at all during that time period. Still ate chocolate, chips, etc... woke up every morning looking leaner and leaner. Weight literally melted off me.

First week was tough, stomach growling by 10:30am most days. Slight headaches, too. Week 2+ was a breeze once I adapted to it. By week 3/4, I could easy push 20+ hours without food. Did this a few times, in fact.

Strangest thing? My hair started growing back (im bald, have been since 17/18 years old). I noticed it grow back but said nothing, thinking I was making it up. Then family and friends were like, "You're hair is making a comeback, wtf?"

Stopped after 3 months when finally happy with my weight. (from 180ish down to 150). Proceed to slowly gain some weight back and also use gym. (hair regressed again, tho.)

Most will say "IF works, but it aint magic" or "It's just another way to limit caloric intake"

take it from me.... there's more going on with I.F. I know it.

Time will tell.

meme by the cucklement industry

I keep track on MFP and I usually get around 100 protein a day sometimes more or less. Being completely autistic about your macros is the meme.

legit af
but you will lose muscle mass aswell
got from skinnyfat to auschwitz mode with IF
not sure what to do next

Legit. When i did it i didnt eat until 2pm-10pm. It helps you control hunger pains too. Really most of its mental. Once you break that wall you can last on little food. Working out is fine for me too. I try to get one meal in before and then lift and then 2 meals after. Remember that sleeping counts as fasting too .It's just a period of time where you don't eat so it's easy to make flexible n work w ur schedule

its a meme, I gave you the answer, do what you want with it.

Bullshit. I've been eating my calories between 11-6 practically every workday for 10 years during which I became overweight . This is just skipping breakfast and not snacking.

>Articles claim it will boost test by 180%
>The source study was done with extremely obese "people"
>In normal people it actually lowers your test

Why is everyone so mad at breakfasts, what about getting a good load at 8AM and a dinner at 2PM and nothing more, at least you won't be falling apart if you train in the evening.

I'm doing a 16/8 because of my school schedule. I'm 100% not hungry in the morning, but I am always hungry for something sweet 2 hours or so after dinner. Any advice?

work it in your macros

It's another meme fad for fatties.

It works because the fatfuck is restricted in when or what he can eat so he is less likely to overeat or snack, not to mention said diets promote healthy foods in a unhealthy diet plan which make a bad choice if you actually want to build muscle instead of loosing blubber.

easier to not eat for a few hours in the morning while being occupied than it is to not eat during the evening when most people tend to snack.

Imagine the willpower gains

I can do that, my problem is more upsetting the 16/8 by about an hour and a half or something.

macros day in day out is the important part here

What about strenght? Did you lose a significant ammount? If you squat/bench/DL

uh, lift and protein, DOYY

it just gives you less time to eat which might make you eat less which means less calories consumed, no special fat burning shit is gonna happen
t. doing intermittent fasting for almost a year
only calories matter at the end

Any before or after? How much protien did you eat?

who is she? i've seen her before

jaye rose
most UK pornstars use to/still escort

Y'all are just mad.

>Less hungry,if I eat breakfast I want lunch sooner.
>Easy to cut , fine for mantince
>Much better energy during feeded and fasted
>Convienant to skip Breakfast
>Bigger more satisfying meals

Some people seem to respond well to it in terms of macronutrient partitioning, digestion and even metabolism.
But for the vast majority of people, intermitent fasting works as a way to reduce daily energy intake only.

Basically, it's a meme, but it's a good meme.
Unlike consecutive whole days type of fasting meme which can not only kill your gains but also your organs.

Who is this

Well, it's good only for one thing - stop being a fat cunt, but it's really good for that. Same with keto, same with longer fasts. However, those approaches are suboptimal for training and performance and putting on size. You can go fuck around with it for cutting, but don't expect it to be this miracle cure to everything that's gonna magically get you jacked af.

>In normal people it actually lowers your test
Do you have an actual source on this? Fasting for 50 hours isn't intermittent fasting.

I think it's legit. I randomly smashed a PR for chin ups and a PR for overhead press after a week of doing it. On both lifts I could do 4 more reps in a set for my working weight. I've gotten a lot leaner as well as stronger.
Overall, it's the best way to bulk in my opinion. You eat your body fat in the morning and your calories afterwards. Plus, your growth hormone multiplies by nearly five so you get a lot more muscle when you do it too.

>eat big for big muscles spread over 16hrs, makes big boy
>eat big for big muscles spread over 8hrs, makes little boy

I get this but I don't want to count calories because I cook and so I already spend tons of time choosing meals grocery shopping and cooking. I don't also want to log recipes in a calorie counter and weigh food I'm looking for a way around it. Will if work if I don't calorie count? (I'm not a snacker) will it be easier than what I described above?

Objectively the shittest way to fast. If there is a meal that you should cut out it is dinner. Highly reputed studies have been performed on intermittent fasting and on calorie distribution throughout the day. You should eat your biggest meal first thing in the morning - your insulin is very high from sleeping, which shunts triglycerides and glucose from your breakfast into your cells. This keeps your metabolism functioning and gives you energy through the day. It is much better to eat your first meal at 8:00 and stop eating at around 4:00 - 5:00 (or have a very low calorie meal around then).

Since reading this I have been eating a breakfast like a champ (eggs, toast, feta cheese, some milk); I try and eat some lean meat and veg for lunch/dinner. Cut going well and easy.

Stop the broscience bros, we need to rely on actual data to guide our gains.

Lean gains is not a good source retard, neither is the 'Journal of Translational Medicine'. Learn critical appraisal.

>mfw those links prove nothing

Thanks for good science. Now the question is what should I make for a dinner sized breakfast. I could definitely be down for supper of soup and sourdough around 6-7 every night.

This post proves you are retarded.

Literally fucking spelled out for you, the studies are shit

non-natural redhead = HUGE red flag
fuck, then block her number and never attempt contact again if you value your sanity

how did you come to that conclusion user?

That is up to your time and preference. I can't get a good protein rich breakfast without using the stove. It is difficult to eat 700 - 1000 calories with oats or cereal. I like eggs with some olive oil on toast. You could even eat a dinner-like breakfast, like cooking a steak, or heating up some premade pulled pork. Whatever floats your goat, but I do understand it can be challenging.

Did you read them? Do you go to university and have access to academic journals?

How are the studies shit? Do you have a critique about their design or do you just disagree with their conclusions?

I'm actually stoked because I'm increasingly a morning person. I wish there was a cookbook or a community around this schedule because I think it could be really awesome but I don't necessarily want to do all the creative work myself. If you are on it how has it been working BTW?

you don't have to log everything all the time, just do it the first week or so and if you're consistent with food, you'll end up memorizing them.
example :
i had a medium sized chicken breast today, approximately 5oz so that's ~300 calories deducted from my daily 1500
i used a table spoon of olive oil to cook it so that's 200
with a side of steamed veggies so that's ~100
now i have 900 cal left

a cup of milk cooked oatmeal is ~350 cal with a scoop of whey(120) which adds up to 470
430 left

3 scrambled eggs is 300 cal cooked with just enough oil to not make it stick which will add 100 cal
30 cal left, all the above is overestimated off the top of my head, i've been cooking and consuming these 3 meals for a couple of months and i memorized how many calories they have
i haven't logged on to mfp in a while and i've been roughly estimating calories for the past month
my estimation usually isn't pinpoint accurate because i eat outside a lot but im still losing weight, though it would be faster if i cooked all my food.
My point is you don't have to open mfp and record everything you eat, i hate that, but you gotta know how much calories are in the food you eat and calculate it in your head.

Been doing a cut for about 1.5 months, lost 6kg (although weigh in tomorrow will probably make that lower). Haven't found it very difficult. For reference I am not very overweight, so those numbers for me are very good, and I would estimate I only have about 14kg to go before I am cut.

I plan to keep eating like this after the cuts over, but just up the calories a bit of all my meals.

I appreciate that but you don't cook like I cook. I rarely eat the same meal twice in a month and most of my meals involve 5 or more ingredients. If I were to count that adds serious work. But I love to cook and I love to eat diverse range of food so all I can come up with is either pumping up the low calorie density vegetables or fasting of some sort.

I getcha I'm about 4.5 kg over for a healthy BMI and I just can't seem to shake it.

just admit that you aren't going to make it then. Either put in the work or give up. There are not any short cuts, fasting isn't going to erase the calories you consume

1 Tblspoon of olive oil is not 200 calories, and that is way to much to put in a pan.

it helps.18:6 IF,lift a 5 day split ,cardio H.I.I.T 6 times a week and yohimibe hcl .down 6'4 343 to 278 start middle of july .

For thousands of years people didn't count calories and weren't obese. I'm not trying to be lazy but I really do believe that there is a better way than calorie counting. I do understand the calories in calories out limitation but I think with less calorie dense food and some form of fasting I can skip the exact accounting.

This method is obviously not a meme it's eating less calories to lose weight just a little differently than most calorie cutting methods.

This shit actually worked for me although the real bitch of the whole thing is snacking late night. I'll just munch on stuff without thinking about it and end up eating like a whole can of almonds. Especially combined with weed the snacking can get to you. But if you're disciplined enough this shit works wonders and I was surprised that it got posted here since I found out about it on a way more obscure site

Because back then there wasn't processed food and a McDonalds on every corner. People just ate simple shit like bread and meat.

well i sometimes i don't cut my chicken and it takes a while for the inside to cook

Yeah but I don't fuck with McDonald's and I cook my own food that is vegetable rich and very low in starches and sugars. I only need to cut out 78 calories a day to be within a healthy BMI but for the life of me I just can't figure out how to do it consistently and adding 2-3 hours of work a week for such a modest goal seems excessive.

You aint about the fit life. Get over it, move on. Take it somewhere else fatty

Ive been doing it for like 4 weeks now

pros:
Ive lost 20 pounds
Ive had higher test
My mind enters a state of higher thinking from starvation, probably a survival mechanism

cons:
My shit is pure black
I keep vomiting acid
I have schizophrenia now

NO CAUSALITY WAS ESTABLISHED

What I'm probably going to do instead is try breakfast as the largest Neal as suggested elsewhere in the thread but free to choke on a dick.

>t. delusional fatty timing meals instead of tracking macros

Are you suggesting that having a decreasing BMI causes you to eat larger meals early? Or that some third effect both lowers BMI and causes you to have breakfast be your largest meal? Or might you be retarded?

I did it for 2 years while lifting and loved it. Can't say whether it helped or hurt my progress, probably neither to any significant degree. I can say that i stopped lifting for a few months, acute onset faggotry, and IF without lifting fucked me up and severely aggravated my neuroticism

> Thinking that everyone who isn't overweight is tracking macros.

>thinking that being normal weight is an accomplishment and worthy of Veeky Forums

people who aren't overweight either don't eat that much or just burn the calories they eat.
Being buttmad about having to count calories will make you forever a fatty

t. retard

Half the benefits from IF are the mental gains you experience a the end of the fasting period. By skipping breakfast, you're prolonging that period of extreme mental clarity.

>Thinking that a normal weight is a healthy weight

You were already skelly you silly skelly

I do 20 hour intermittent fasts and then if I'm at work Ill go to mcdonalds, buy 3 mcdoubles, throw out the buns. That's usually enough meat to keep me full through the rest of the day at 600-700 calories.

It's weird as fuck but I've lost about 70lbs doing it from 275
