Chinese imperial houses are like mini-Genghiz Khans. An emperor gets to have a ton of wives, whose resultant sons do the same polygamous shit down the road, and after centuries/millenia you're looking down a family tree that has maybe hundreds of thousands of descendants.

It's rather dubious as to who came from what in that time period or what the hell was even going on.
