Depends on which Jews you are referring to and if you consider Levantine peoples to be white. Both Sephardic and Ashkenazi Jews Y-DNA is predominantly more Levantine while mtDNA is more recent South Euro admixture (Greeks and Italians) since exiled male Jews married Greek and Italian converts. Mizrahi and Samaritan Jews aren't white if you don't consider Levantines white.

I'm speaking about DNA not faith, and it's easier to refer to them as a branch of Jew than explain to OP core differences between the two peoples. Genetically they share paternal descent and are possibly the purest of the Jews, but like AJ and SJ their mtDNA is comprised of a different stock: further eastern women that cluster with Iraqi Jews and Israeli Arabs.
