How did the Yom Kippur War happen?

Was Soviet tech that bad?

Has the Russian "military giant" been a meme this whole time?

Did any US armed client states get this BTFO?

Arabs

meforum.org/441/why-arabs-lose-wars

Arabs armies are the worst in the entire planet and there are entire studies about it. Their chain of command are literally mafias that hold information against each other making their coordination impossible. Lybia got BTFO by fuvking Chad that is practically a none country

'We have offered them (the Arabs) a sensible way for so many years. But no, they wanted to fight. Fine! We gave them technology, the latest, the kind even Vietnam didn’t have. They had double superiority in tanks and aircraft, triple in artillery, and in air defense and anti-tank weapons they had absolute supremacy. And what? Once again they were beaten. Once again they scrammed. Once again they screamed for us to come save them. Sadat woke me up in the middle of the night twice over the phone, “Save me!” He demanded to send Soviet troops, and immediately! No! We are not going to fight for them.' - Leonid Brezhnev

Did you know that Egyptians unironically believe they won the Yom Kippur war?

How the fuck did they manage to twist yom kippur into a win?

/thread

they did

Attached: kike btfo.png (329x716, 146K)

Shame the war continued after that huh

They gained territory

considering how the Six Day War ended for Egypt, not getting annexed was a win

the israelis believed they'd beat the arabs every time forever, then the war showed that wasn't the case and they spent the next decade shitting themselves. Sadat achieved his political goals; you'd need to be a king-size retard to believe the united states would let an arab army even come close to jerusalem and he wasn't

>before the war
>Israel refuses to give up the Sinai in exchange for a peace treaty
>after the war
>Israel agrees to give up the Sinai in exchange for a peace treaty

>Was Soviet tech that bad?

No. The Ayyrabs had better tech in most areas and equivalent tech in the rest.

>Has the Russian "military giant" been a meme this whole time?

Depends. They would have lost against the Nazis without western aid but after WW2 they were def. the "best" army (not in the sense of quality but in the sense of wrecking shit).

>Did any US armed client states get this BTFO?

Not client but murica paid the bills:

>They would have lost against the Nazis without western aid

NO western aid whatsoever.

No second fronts, no bombing raids and no material aid.

But it was shitty from me to even bring it up lets not turn this into an eastern front thread.

Soviet infrastructure was in tatters, and the relocation of their production as the krauts won terrain was pressuring their rail network even worse. They'd have been fucked with out the trucks.

Those numbers are actually not that that indicative of Arab superiority.

An attacking force should usually have around twice the size of the defending force. That is not that much of a difference.

You are also posting the pre-invasion numbers the US actually flew in almost 1,000 more tanks to replace Israeli losses in operation Nickel Glass.

The Arabs actually were advancing on all fronts and destroyed basically the entire Isralie armor they lost 1,002 tanks in the war.

The Jews were going to nuke the fucking Arabs with Jericho missiles but the US basically intervened on their side.

>Has the Russian "military giant" been a meme this whole time?

Yes.

What advantages do Russia/the USSR supposedly possess?

Massive military-industrial complex?

In WW2 they were outproduced in almost all measures by Britain alone (not the Empire, the island). They relied totally on western (British and American) imports for everything from food to aircraft fuel, from APCs to radios. The USSR was economically backwards throughout WW2, and always lagged severely behind the west right up until the modern day.

Expert soldiery?

Russian and Soviet military doctrine has never been particularly innovative. It has always attempted to imitate more powerful and more organised western counterparts. The last time Russia was able to match a European power in open war was Napoleon in 1813/1814 in the campaigns in Germany. Throughout WW1, WW2, and the Soviet period, the military of Russia/the USSR was staggeringly disorganised, deliberately kept this way either by aristocratic power struggles (in WW1) or Soviet purges and ideological concerns (the Soviet government always feared a military coup, and strived to keep the army as disorganised and unable to coordinate in peace time as possible). Their equipment has almost universally been mediocre, with some notable exceptions (certain tank models, and the venerable Mosin and AK), and they have never presented any real innovation in the coordination of modern combined arms warfare (the Soviet airfoce for example has one of the worst records of all nations in history in terms of needless losses of planes, both during WW2, and after, all through Afghanistan etc).

Unconquerable will to fight?

The only reason the USSR didn't surrender and openly mutiny in the week of June the 30th 1941 (as Stalin feared they would) was because the army and the people were so terrified of Beria, the NKVD, and the indiscriminate and often pointlessly brutal purging of literally millions of people in the preceding years.

Fuck the char limit.

Again with this nonsense? By the time the land lease materials finally arrived, the soviets already broke through the nazi lines and were on the road to Berlin.

EVERYONE hould be thankful the Soviet Union saved the entire world from nazis instead of spreading hate and misinformation. I will pray for your soul.

>support nazis both in material and through military alliance when the whole rest of the world realizes they are blood thirsty maniacs
>dont start fighting them until they invade the USSR
>try to claim moral superiority after the fact while also ignoring that they begged for help the entire time to stop the monster they help create
fuck you and fuck your callofduty meme understanding of history you underaged leftypol retard.

R*ssia's """"""""military""""""" has been a facade most of it's lifetime.

Even today the Russia government pays Vatniks to shill for it online.

>the absolute state of vatniks

Attached: 1521047495205.jpg (645x968, 55K)

Yeah no, this is bullshit. The lend lease stuff started arriving in bulk in 1943. Russia wasn't "on the road to berlin" in that year. They won at Kursk, yeah, and started hitting back hard, but those things only happened because of the overwhelming amounts of foreign aid they received. Oh and Germany was diverting forced away from the eastern front too in order to deal with American and British invasions or potential invasions.

The diverted forces were gonna be on the western front either way considering someone had to put down and surpress rebellion. Everyone should give up spite and envy and understand that the Soviet Union only wanted to better mankind. They were the first to go to space. Why? For humanity, while others do it just to spite the red giant.

The amount of forces needed to do this in places like France, the low countries, Denmark and Norway was hilariously small simply because most of the really nasty shit the Germans were doing to conquered territories was in Eastern Europe.

>>blah blah muh red giant
Fuck off vatnik.

>we have tigers and space

Transportation vehicles were pretty important regards to lendlease I'd say
>Domestic production of motor vehicles for these three years had stood at 144,791 machines, while Lend-Lease had supplied twice this number by 30 June 1944.202 Additionally, the United States delivered 1,981 locomotives, 12,000 freight cars, and 8,071 tractors during the war, while domestic production had turned out just 84 locomotives, 268 freight cars, and 7,737 tractors in the years 1942–1944.

You are just hateful, bad men. When will you learn to love instead of hate? Appreciate, but not demean? Freaks.

Due to the Soviet Union's sacrifices we can live in a free world today, the same world that allows you to spew hate and blasphemy on anonymous online image boards.

Have some respect.

Okay it's too obvious now.

Deep battle was the most sophisticated strategy in WW2. And Soviet production was low at first because the Germans had taken most of the agricultural and industrial regions and the transuralic factories had barely been set. The Allies would have had 0 chance of hurting the Axis in Europe withput that brutal eastern front than in every shape and form dwarfed all the ally operations put together

It was justifiably called "the airlift that saved Israel.
One of the most critical but least celebrated airlifts in history unfolded over a desperate 32 days in the fall of 1973. An armada of Military Airlift Command aircraft carried thousands of tons of materiel over vast distances into the midst of the most ferocious fighting the Middle East had ever witnessed-the 1973 ArabIsraeli War. MAC airlifters-T-tailed C-141s and C-5As-went in harm's way, vulnerable to attack from fighters, as they carved a demanding track across the Mediterranean, and to missiles and sabotage, as they were off-loading in Israel.

Though not as famous as the 1948-49 Berlin Airlift or as massive as the 1990-91 Desert Storm airlift, this 1973 operation was a watershed event. Code-named "Nickel Grass," it restored a balance of power and helped Israel survive a coordinated, life-threatening Soviet-backed assault from Egypt and Syria. It proved the Air Force concept of global mobility based on jet-powered transport aircraft. The airlift also transformed the image of the C-5 from that of expensive lemon to symbol of US might.

There was also HUNDREDS of US jets that were transfered to Israel.

The US was literally flying F-4 Phantom's off aircraft carriers and landing them in Israel. They gave the Israeli's over 100 aircraft this way.

-1/10
We're getting into the negative numbers now, faggot.

>Win for one day in a sneak attack.
>Get BTFO after and Israel seizes more land in Syria.

The Allies would have had 0 chance of hurting the Axis in Europe withput that brutal eastern front than in every shape and form dwarfed all the ally operations put together

Yeah no. The only thing a lack of the eastern front means is Germany has two million soldiers in the France and Italy rather then one million.
Overlord succeeded because the German airforce was torn to pieces fighting off strategic bombing raids and America and Britain had complete air dominance which in turn meant that German ground forces were highly susceptible to interdiction from the air.

They gained territory Israel had been trying to bargain away in exchange for then taking Palestinians since they got it. They did ok for all of two days with a sneak attack and overwhelming numbers, got raped. Hard. After. Then made the same deal Israel already wanted on worse terms and Israel kept Gohlan too.

How the fuck is that a win? Also massive disproportionate casualties and fatalities.

>An attacking force should have twice the numbers of the defenders

So explain:
Gulf War I
Gulf War II
Franco-Prussian War
Sino- Japanese War
Crusaders vs Seljuks
German invasion of France in WWII
Alexander
Roman conquest of Gaul

I could go on. Invading armies that are smaller win all the time.

The US airlifted shit to Israel, the USSR actually have even more material to the Arabs, so that argument is shit.

If you have better material and you successfuly sneak attack with giant advantages in material and men an lose territory you lost the war. Period.

80% of the wermach died in the eastern front. There is not a single operation in the western front that comes close to the destruction of operation Bagration. Not even all allies attacks put together come close. In 3 years the allies barely reached Rome and it took 3 months after D day to even take Paris back. The allies did jackshit in the European war and even in the battle of the Ardenas when the Germans barely had any oil they were about to BTFO the allies yet again

>Lybia got BTFO by fuvking Chad that is practically a none country

Pretty sure it had more to do with the French bombing the Lybian invasion army to shit than with the might of the negro warrior

The Virgin Lybian vs The Chad

You do realize the Soviets shipped more material to the Arabs over this period and that Arab gains had been totally erased and they were losing land by 5 days, right?

tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/13537129908719548?src=recsys

80%
Bullshit statistic that doesn't take POWs into account.
>>There is not a single operation in the western front that comes close to the destruction of operation Bagration.
Wrong. Overlord completely destroyed German offensive capability in western europe. You assume it doesn't mean much because American and British armies took prisoners rather then kill most of enemy.
>>Not even all allies attacks put together come close
Bullshit again. 40% of german ground forces and around 50% of their airforce being directed to deal with American and British raids and invasions from 1943 onward is a dramatic effect that comes very close to the effect that the soviets had on Germany.

>>Not even all allies attacks put together come close. In 3 years the allies barely reached Rome and it took 3 months after D day to even take Paris back.
In other words, fighting in mountainous or Hilly terrain and conducting amphibious assaults is more difficult then armored offensives across comparatively open terrain? Shocking! I assure you that soviet progress in 1943/44 would not have been all that rapid if they had to deal with hills and mountains everywhere and a massive amphibious invasion.

>>The allies did jackshit in the European war and even in the battle of the Ardenas when the Germans barely had any oil they were about to BTFO the allies yet again
Nope. Lies and bullshit as I already stated.

Also Google "soviet resupply activities in the Middle East" for a review.

Inb4

>Our resupply was larger but, we, Russian tech is better, but, we, we only won on the first 48 hours of a sneak attack with a huge advantage on every category and lost the Golan, but, yeah, Israel BTFO...

(You)

>tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/13537129908719548?src=recsys

The statistics are skewed because both countries continued to supply their proxies until after the war is over. If you count the period after the conflict Soviet gross tonnage is more then US but the US stuff came in at a mission critical time. The US supply effort is what saved Israels ass. The Soviets were sending goods by boat the war was over by the time the Arabs got their stuff. The US was running 24 air lifts out of Portugal.

The Arabs were getting monkey model export fighters and tanks while US was sending Israeli's AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles state of the art in that sector.

The air lift by the US Air force own admission was what saved Israel. The Americans were ferrying fighter jets off air craft carriers landing them in Israel and Israel fighter pilots were jumping in them and flying off.

"Before the October 1973 conflict, the United States had been delivering Phantoms at the rate of two per month. When war erupted, Operation Nickel Grass followed, through which F-4Es pulled directly from the U. S. inventory were ferried to Israel and immediately thrown into battle, once modified with the Israeli-style refueling receptacle on the right front in place of the U.S.-style dorsal receptacle. One TISEO-equipped late model F-4E actually flew into combat still wearing an SJ tail code telling the world that it had just arrived from Colonel Len C. Russell’s 4th Thactical Fighter Wing at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C."

historynet.com/mcdonnell-f-4-phantom-essential-aircraft-in-the-air-warfare-in-the-middle-east.htm/4

Could you imagine if the Soviet Union started to ferry MIG-23s to Syria?

They actually did send them but again by the time the Syrians got them the war was over.

Sources: my ass

>The US airforce in its own magazine says it was the decisive factor

You know the US also says it's the only thing that kept the USSR alive in WWII (seriously just look at this thread.)

They also claim to have been decisive in WWI and to have won Iraq till Obama made them leave and to have accomplished their strategic goals in Vietnam.

Fact is, Arabs got more tanks and fighters during the war and started with 4:1 to 3:1 advantages. By the end they had lost territory again.

I mean, holy shit, they sent 28 MiG 17 and 21s against 2 F-4s, bombed the runway as they were taking off, and then sill lost 7 jets to zero.

The water cannon idea in the Siani was the only thing that worked, but within 72 hours they were back on defense.

A few good tactciana can't save an invasion force of idiots.

t. I know nothing of military history outside of hollywood movies
Compering the meme of Overlord with operation Bagrillion is the most brainlet thing I have ever read. The are of France, the low countries and Belgium where the allies landed is fat and had better roads than the eastern front. Literally the allies would have gotten stomped by the German army as they usually were in almost all theatres of the war with the brutal eastern front

The Arabs were winning the war. They had ample air coverage from their S-6 Gainful missiles. Yes they weren't as good as the Israel's because they were flying with MIG21-M which were export versions of an older MIG with RP-21MA radar's and R-3S IR missiles.

The fucking Israeli's had AIM-9 missiles and were flying US spec phantoms that were being flown off air craft carriers into their air basses.

The Israel's had Nashr fighters which were French spec Mirage 5s while the Arabs couldn't even get the MIG-23 cleared for export by the time the fighting started.

>"Israel began receiving supplies via U.S. Air Force cargo airplanes on October 14, although some equipment had arrived on planes from Israel's national airline El Al before this date. By that time, the IDF had advanced deep into Syria and was mounting a largely successful invasion of the Egyptian mainland from the Sinai, but had taken severe material losses. According to Abraham Rabinovich, "while the American airlift of supplies did not immediately replace Israel's losses in equipment, it did allow Israel to expend what it did have more freely"

>By that time, the IDF had advanced deep into Syria and was mounting a largely successful invasion of the Egyptian mainland from the Sinai, but had taken severe material losses.

>But egypt was winning.

>The Arabs were winning the war
How? By losing land and material at a faster rate than Israel? By this logic, a nuke over Giza would be the ultimate Arab victory

Using the good ol' Zapp Brannigan tactic.

>You see, Kikes have a preset kill limit. Knowing their weakness, i sent wave after wave of my own men, equipment and territory at them, until they reached their limit and shut down

Based corruption man

>although some equipment had arrived on planes from Israel's national airline El Al before this date.

Read your own post. The Americans were stuffing all available El-Al planes full of tanks weapons and sidewinder missiles for Israeli jets. They were already flying in Phantom fighters. The Israeli air liners were being flown in with escort fighters from US carriers to resupply their troops.

"Defense Minister Moshe Dayan, obviously not at his best at a press briefing, was, according to Time magazine, rattled enough to later tell the prime minister that “this is the end of the third temple,” referring to an impending collapse of the state of Israel. “Temple” was also the code word for nuclear weapons. Prime Minister Golda Meir and her “kitchen cabinet” made the decision on the night of 8 October. The Israelis assembled 13 twenty-kiloton atomic bombs. The number and in fact the entire story was later leaked by the Israelis as a great psychological warfare tool. Although most probably plutonium devices, one source reports they were enriched uranium bombs. The Jericho missiles at Hirbat Zachariah and the nuclear strike F-4s at Tel Nof were armed and prepared for action against Syrian and Egyptian targets. They also targeted Damascus with nuclear capable long-range artillery although it is not certain they had nuclear artillery shells."

-Hersh, op. cit., 217, 222-226, and Weissman and Krosney, op. cit., 107.

There was no way such a stomping could happen with the Air dominance the Americans and British had over western europe. You know little to nothing about the theater of war you are attempting to discuss.

>War ends with Egyptian army encircled and Soviets on verge of intervention to save them
>War ends with IDF in Egypt & Syria proper, having retaken all initially lost territory and even advancing
>War ends with IDF on both sides of Suez Canal
>IDF only cedes the canal years later in exchange for a huge strategic bonus of having egypt make peace
>5:1 kill ratio in favor of IDF

rly makes me think. Arabs are so desperate for a victory against Israel that their best is "well at least we did well at first"

>Hitler dismissed the United States as a mongrel society and consequently underestimated the impact of America's entry into the war.

Didn't Hitler himself in WW1 say never underestimate your opponents in propoganda because it backfires when your troopsrun up against the enemy and it turns out they're tough?

its not troop toughness the axis powers saw democracies going through the worst economic times in history and decided the polity would be a pushover

>EVERYONE hould be thankful the Soviet Union saved the entire world from nazis
Thats bait

>>Hitler dismissed the United States as a mongrel society and consequently underestimated the impact of America's entry into the war.
The opposite is the case.

Did the Arabs really obliterate Egyptian culture so extensively that they unironically consider themselves Arab? Jesus that's really sad.

arabs are terribad, kikes are good warriors
Soviet wouldnt win alone, and the major allies have a major part in the victory
now can everyone stop flopping around and be content

And this was way after the Israeli had Egypt on the run.....
