>tfw everyone must be made to feel like a manlet

also ben shapiro in the background

Wtf. That guy is clearly manipulating his weight in an attempt to outstrike manlets. What a fucking joke. What is he too scared to fight with the heavies?

every fighter outside of HW (where weight limit is 265) is manipulating their weight via water cut so their opponent doesn't have a size advantage

disgusting

Yes I am aware of this but this is the first time I have seen a fighter take it to this level. He clearly needs to go up in weight class imo. If that small guy can get to the inside then more power to him. But in theory a guy like Roop when faced with such an opponent should be able to stick and move. Theory isn't always pragmatic though.

Btw I'm not a big mma follower or boxing follower.

the sport naturally punishes extreme weightcutters, you don't see most champions in any weightclass cutting extreme amounts of weight relative to the average in their division

if you're 6'2" at bantamweight, you just lack so much muscle compared to guys who are bantamweights but are like 5'7" that you get absolutely mangled in the clinch and on the ground

extreme weightcutters also tend to stop being able to make the weight at some point, it takes too much of a physical toll to cut that much

This

Your body will stop allowing you to make super xtreme weight cuts after several times doing it.
eventually leading to you having to move up a weight class

t. collegiate wrestler

>t. collegiate wrestler
surely you must know that wrestlers cut weight from middle school---through college. They don't suddenly stop after "several times"

he lost that fight in the first round by KO. lanklets btfo again

which is why he specified extreme weight cuts, and not weight cuts in general, brainlet

okay fighter, shit physique

There is a 6 foot tall MMA fighter who literally cuts to flyweight and gets mangled by guys who are 5'2

>stop being able to make the weight
>Your body will stop allowing you to make super xtreme weight cuts after several times doing it
please explain. this just sounds like bs. got any sources guys instead of anecdotal evidence. law of thermodynamics, CICO and that.

cutting weight for wrestling or MMA has nothing to do with calories in and calories out, it's a water cut - you go into a sauna or a hot bath and you stop drinking anything until you make weight

this is how guys can lose like 20lbs and then gain it all back in a few hours and be much heavier in the cage/on the mat

of course you can still make the weight if you ate less and lost some fat or muscle, but that defeats the entire purpose of weight cutting for wrestling and MMA - you do it to have a size advantage, or to prevent your opponent from having a size advantage

how does he sleep at night

It honestly doesn't matter. He gives up strength for range for fighting at that weight class because no matter how much he can cut, he can't saw off all that extra bone density that comes with being that tall.

...

Am a kick boxer, and even without a grappling component, this shit is ridiculous. He's too skinny, unless he can put in thirty pounds between the fight and weigh in, he'll never be competitive.

Anyone else hate fucking Herb Dean?

Mr. “Someone got slapped better stop the fight!”
