I doubt people were encouraged/celebrated for being fat in the 40’s and 50’s. Seems to be that standards were higher.

Women of yesteryear weren't fat, they were just flabby. As for the face, consider what the standards were back then. The makeup was unregulated poison that they painted on everyday. Even if they knew how to use it beautifully, it was the same facade it always was, except more lavish and costly in terms of health. Stop judging beauty by the glam scene that was Old Hollywood and take a look at the real women, the 5/10s who bought the toxic makeup but didn't have the genetics to look like Vivan Leigh

Standards plummeted in the 90s when the Cold War ended, many more nations joined the WTO, globalization accelerated and Hollywood realized began targeting foreign markets by dumbing down scripts for lesser educated people and pushing non-whites into starring roles.

The 90s is when things went to shit but they'd been going down for a while. In the 70s films were made for adults and you can find plenty of gems, by the 80s they were being made for teens and by the 90s they were being made for illiterates.

Similarly starring women in films used to be portrayed as sophisticated and elegant. In the 80s they became neurotic and vain. By the 90s they were angry and sluttish. Everything is regressing to suit the base character of the uncivilized masses around the world.

Our collective morals have certainly declined, hence all the thots these days, but a pretty lady is still a pretty lady.

Genuine question, was there anyone, I mean literally even one single person on the entirety of planet earth, in the 50s/60s as willfully ugly as a stock standard sjw feminist? Look at this woman, she couldn't do much more to herself other than burn herself with acid or roll in poison ivy to make herself look much uglier. Was there anyone back then willing to go to such extremes to make themselves look as grotesque and hideous as so many people seem to today? I'm not necessary talking about people with shitty genetics, I'm talking people who have the potential to be perfectly normal or even attractive looking human beings but whose lifestyle choices make them look completely repulsive. I can't think of any culture during any time period in human history other than the modern day west where people choose, usually based on delusion, to be so fucking ugly.
