calisthenics is babby's first workout though. its less efficient and harder than weights if aesthetic or strength training is your goal. of course calisthenics can be useful in both of those, but usually in a supplementary role. note: weighted chins and dips are not calisthenics, that's weight training.

do calisthenics if you're just wanting to work out for brad pitt in fight club mode. if you have any higher aspiration then buy or join a gym and start training properly.

I think 99% is a bit of an exaggeration. Somewhere between 70-75% of Americans are overweight or obese. But assuming you're not starting as a fatass you should be top 20% in a year. This number skews higher as you get older too. Obviously 18-25 is a thinner demographic than late 40's/early 50's.
