I'm about to start Texas Method but I want to primarily bring my bench up first. TM doesn't have much volume for bench so someone suggested that I do Nuckol's 3 day intermediate medium bench program on top of Texas Method. Is this a good idea? So instead of benching once or twice a week I'll be benching 3x a week. It seems like a good idea but I'm just worried it will interfere with the rest of the program. In TM wednesday is supposed to be a recovery day, but with the nuckols program I go a bit heavier than I would with TM. Could that interfere with recovery?

I haven't been back for a minute. What happened to TYVD?

Amidoinitrite?
Spinach, tomato, onion, baked chicken, turkey, and a single slice of cheese.

Is there a reason I shouldn't eat this everyday?

Has anyone gone bald from using creatine?

Whats easier, a Pullup or chinup

Anyone here pinch their sciatic nerve? Pinched mine on Friday doing deadlifts. What should I do to help it heal?

Chin up tends to be easier because it uses your arms more. Narrow grip is also easier than wide grip.

Also can i put a pullup bar in a concrete wall like this or will it rip the wall out.

Creatine boosts your DHT which might speed up the genetic balding process. So if you do not suffer from genetic balding you're gonna be fine. And if you do you're gonna lose hair sooner or later anyway. So there is no real reason to not take creatine.

What can I do instead of microloading in 2.5lbs increments for Greyskull? My gym's smallest plates are 2.5lbs each (so 5lbs increments).

Do I just do more sets i.e. 3x5 the first workout then 4x5 or 5x5 the second workout and increment the weight by 5lbs the following workout instead, or is there a more better way?

I've taken off from the gym for about 2 weeks because my back was hurting when doing certain things. I know it is healing but its going so slow and I want to get back to the gym. How long does the healing process usually take for a strained back muscle?

I hit was trying to hit a deadlift PR and I think my form was really bad, arched back and all. I have this sharp stabbing and pain in lower left back when I put pressure on it or bend a certain way. Is this snap city? When will it be fixed? When can I do atg squats and deadlift again? Please help I was progressing really well until now. It's been like this for two weeks.

Do you have similar symptoms to me? I am the guy who posted below you.

Yo anyone got that natural bodymass probability calculator? I cant find it on google.

I've tried using the sitting leg curl machine at my school's gym and I must be sliding forward millimeters as I use it, and right over my sack. Luckily there's a lying machine, but for the sitting machine, is it probably just that I'm not holding myself down tightly enough when I try it?

Help Veeky Forums, my dick is horrendously curved on two directions, now that I'm going to the gym and improving my body I want to correct/improve my dick too, is there a good device any of you guys used to straighten your dick? I found pic related from X4 Labs for a good price in my country, don't know if it's good so any input on that would be appreciated

My pain isn't really sharp and I only notice it if I sit with a hunch or if I bend back really far. Idk if we have the same thing but hopefully we both get better

My gym partner has sciatica and can't do deadlifts or barbell rows. are there any good replacement workouts or even machines that we could sub?

The carbs. Just get a bowl

Do 5 lbs increments until you stall, then go on Amazon and buy some 1.25 lb plates to bring with you in your gym bag. No one will care.

If this isn't bait, don't do it. No form of penis enlargement works, they're all scams or pranks.

Are kegels unhealthy? What about in terms of applying you newly-found strength to edge? I'm worried about backflow, particularly given that semen isn't sterile.

I forgot to add penis curve adjustment to that as well, same thing. Unless it's past 45 degree bend, a doctor will not do the corrective surgery, which might dampen your ability to have an erection.

Kegels are perfectly healthy, just don't do it while you need to pee or are having an ejaculation.

I've missed a day of an exercise which is so unstrenuous that I do it daily, but can easily do it more than daily, is there a Veeky Forums approved way to make up for this lost day?

>or are having an ejaculation
i.e. using them to edge? What's wrong with that?

Have any of y'all ever dealt with a varicocele? I've got one on the left side and it's been bothering me lately. I'm considering surgery but I don't want to be put out of lifting for too long.

What's so special about milk that it makes GOMAD a better choice than just taking more protein powder?

What is this shit? I am 22, have i already peaked? Is it down hill from here? Grey hairs are starting to pop up everywhere.

Not before you have one, like edging, I mean while in the middle of cumming.

WHY IN THE HELL IS THERE LIKE TEN THREADS OF TINDER OR SOME SHIT LIKE THAT IN "Veeky Forums weightlifting, health, and fitness"!?

Can't you faggots go to with that bullshit?

Best workouts to gain strength and explosive speed?

How do I get this body?
So far I'm running to cut the fat first

22 isn't too young for balding (anymore) but it might be for gray hair. We'd need a pic with with a better view of the whole hairline to confirm whether or not you're balding.

Probably faster to gain the muscle first (there's not much on that guy) and then cut the fat, or even attempting to do both at the same time.

That's all I really want, the aesthetic gains.

Is there an aesthetic only regime?

I have been having trouble with my arms and sometimes legs (but mostly arms) being asleep when I wake up.

I sleep on my back most of the time and never with a pillow in just underwear and haven't had this problem until recently. I do a calisthenics/bodyweight routine if that matters and I eat a lot of garlic and ginger periodically which should mean that I have good circulation but apparently not.

How can I fix this?

Does anyone have the picture of a young man with massive quads on the train/subway? He was sitting and the picture looked like a creepshot of someone in front of him.

I-it's for.. research proposes.

>only super serious talk allowed
board culture nigger, if you dont like it you can get out

Why would my hairline matter, i already know i will get baited into people saying i am balding.

Because it gives a clearer picture of the situation. But basically if you pull your air back, tilt your head forward and look at your hairline in a mirror, you'll know your balding if it doesn't form a more or less perfect circle arc. So basically if it looks like a 2 yeah you're balding.

Tried this in /plg/ with no luck. Trying here

I'm in the process of figuring out my squat form and I feel I'm a bit backwards from the norm. I started with lowbar and squats have always been a grinder for me. My deadlift has forever been 100lbs higher than my squat and my easiest lift. So tonight I loaded on 80% of my belted squat and tried highbar for the first time. I hit the hole and unlike every time before I popped right out without a huge grind. I noticed I was able to really dig my traps out of the bar and keep myself from getting pitched forward. Getting pitched forward out of the bottom has been my biggest issue with lowbar. So I guess my question is am I better off with highbar or is there something I'm doing to majorly fuck up lowbar?

I should also not I started with lowbar because I am the long femur short torso meme you hear about do often. Never thought highbar would work for me.

You are aware that the post gym metabolic window is a myth, right?

I need help
So when I was like 15 I started taking SSRIs
and besides making things sometimes even worse and making me fat and lazy I lost all my interest in sex
which is weird since I had a gf at that time and usually teens just want to fuck all day
but I wasn't even interested in fapping or porn
but now that I'm about to turn 21 I started having wet dreams again
I didn't have these since 13/14 and I'm worried as to wtf is going on since it happens way too often for someone my age like 3-5 times a month
not taking the SSRIs since 17 anymore btw

do low lats take longer to build than high lats?

I think some dude was taking pics of me at the gym.
>he is a fat, autistic ego lifter
>doing DB bench
>see him holding phone towards me
>turn to look
>he turns and puts phone away
>he leaves
>I continue workout
>I'm a dude btw, not even a twink or remotely feminine.
Wat do?

gonna be my first time cooking chicken breasts
do i cut the fatty bits off when i cook em

Enjoy a curved dick user. It's basically a girth enhancer.

But no there's nothing that can fix it outside surgery, and that's usually reserved for extreme cases of curved.

If it's sharp pain you fucked up. Don't lift with those muscles for 2 weeks minimum. When you return attempt a lighter set and kinda feel things out.

No, you don't "make up" for days missed. You just don't miss next time. Accept your failure and move on.

>cheap
>easily available
>tastes good
>loads of calories

Sounds like an issue with your mattress or posture. You shouldn't be experiencing loss of circulation from laying down.

>I eat a lot of garlic and ginger periodically which should mean that I have good circulation
you've fallen for a meme

some people have wet dreams user. Some don't. Sounds like you're just really horny. Go out and fuck someone hard.

Ignore him or be pleasantly surprised when you see yourself posted in a Veeky Forums cringe thread.

You can, personally I don't like them. You don't have to cut them off.

i used to have a curved dick
basically what said, a curved dick isn't necessarily a bad thing, depending on your dick some girls prefer it curved coz it hits certain spots or whatever
but if you want to uncurve it just masturbate with the opposite hand for a while and it'll go back
if you've never jacked off with the other hand before then it will be uncomfortable for a while, but you'll get the hang of it eventually

im the chicken breast guy, thanks

My mattress is pretty firm and how can my posture be bad if I am lying flat on my back with no pillow?

I don't really go out of my way to get ginger and garlic. I just have sushi often and get ginger and I eat at Chinese restaurants that give you full cloves and snack on them. Plus I love ginger tea

Probably gonna be in a cringe thread.
>Long haired Viking poser lifting baby weights and spending time on phone.

If I've training for a little over a year with not much progress (50, 70, 95, 130kg x5 @62bw) would it be ok to start bulking (I already am) and a linear progression program?

Oly lifting

Bulkang since august 20, gained 8 pounds
Is this reasonable or should I slow down?

>My mattress is pretty firm
Could be the problem. Could also be your pillow if it's elevating your head to a point where it's limiting your air intake. Either way, something's not right with your sleep.

Experiment. Try taking a comforter or quilt on the floor and sleep there and see if you have the same symptoms. If so, it might be your posture. If the symptoms go away, I'm betting your mattress is fucked.

I'm assuming those numbers are OHP, Press, Squat, and DL? Those aren't the worst numbers but I would definitely increase your intake. Seems like you're not building much.

>A bit more than a pound per week.
You're going too fast. Most places say 1 lb per week but in my experience you want to go slower than that to avoid getting excess fat. Try a 300 calorie surplus instead of a 500.

Feeling pretty sad today guys
On pre workout now, can sadness help to destroy a session? What should I do/listen to?

Should I take rest days from stretching? I'm training to do the side splits and I pretty much do them until lifting either of my legs up takes considerable effort due to the sheer destruction I've done to my groin, hip flexors and abductors.

I'm wondering if doing this every day as I have been will impede my flexibility gains since I still feel these effects when I do lifting the day after. Like for squats my hip flexors were still torched from side split training.

>I'm assuming those numbers are OHP, Press, Squat, and DL? Those aren't the worst numbers but I would definitely increase your intake. Seems like you're not building much.

Yes, ohp/bp/sq/dl in kg. And to answer my question? I think that those numbers are far too low to jump in to another program like Texas method. Will I still make progress on a linear program if I bulk?

And yes I wasn't eating enough, I have also learnt to bulk recently. Up 1.5kg in one month.

I mean, you're benching more than your bodyweight and squatting almost twice that. I see no reason you can't switch to something like PPL.

So I and gone from home for 2/3rds of the year for work and there is no gym. Am I stuck doing bodyweight?

Are you traveling or in some isolate location? I find it hard believe you have no gym option.

Anyone trained and had much success with the arnold split for putting on size?

I don't use a pillow. My mattress is literally like the floor. The first time I lied down on my bed I took off the sheets to see if there was actually a mattress

I work on a boat

oh yeah, then you're fucked.

get a new mattress.

Not him, but I've had a high hairline and a widow's peak since I could remember.

What should be sore the next day after deadlifts?
Just finished 5x10 for Jim Wendler's 5/3/1 and I feel it mostly in my lowerback. Should I try activating my hamstrings more?

>burning tearing sensation during deadlifts, two inches inward from my hip bone, both sides
>Took 2 weeks off, went back, happened again
>No pain or discomfort outside of the moment it happens, not even painful when it does

What the fuck is this
I'd say hernia, but I'm not in pain, it's not even sore and there's no lump. Going to a doctor but looking for an explanation

How many squats do I need to do to have hips like this?

Maybe like 3

try taking active rest days. i.e do some light dynamic stretches like lunges or leg swings but only to the point where resistance starts

Also dont do your main "destroying" stretching before you lift. Static stretching can affect performance slightly

Tomorrow or today is the first time I will go to a gym ever. I've spent all my life sitting at the computer and I decided it is time to change. But how do I know with what weight do I start for bench press? I remember 6-7 yeas ago I had to put in real effort just to press the barbell itself without any weights. Guys, help, I'm so weak I don't want to be the laughing stock in the gym, I have only 1 other gym to chose from if this doesn't work out.

Hahahahahahaaah
Nigga just go in there and lift. No one gives a fuck about you. Start with the bar, no one here knows how fucking strong you are. Gradually increase the weight each set to determine how much you can push

You start with the lightest weight possible and work your way up until you hit something challenging.

No-one is going to give a shit about what you lift.

Don't lie to me, user.

Thank you, dudes. This surprisingly made me more comfortable about tomorrow.

You may end up finding that just the bar is a challenging weight (particularly for lighter exercises like OHP).

Shit happens. I know a 350lb bencher who started with the bar. Sucking now only matters if you let it scare you off.

I've been doing SL5x5 for 3 weeks now (actually 4 but I couldn't train for 1 due to sickness).
I started at
>squat 30 kg
>bench 30 kg
>OHP 20 kg (just the bar)
>barbell row 30 kg
>deadlift 50 kg
Now I am squatting 60 kg, benching 45, OHP 27.5, rowing 40, DLing 80 kgs.
Is it normal to make this little gains in rows and OHP? (a little over 40% increase each while squat has doubled, bench went up by 50% and diddly by 60%)

*a little over 30

Whenever I do squats the only part of my body that is sore are my glutes; I had to fix my squat earlier cause I was leaning forward and fucking my back doing good mornings. My back isn't sore anymore when I squat but I'm wondering if this is abnormal, cause I haven't had sore quads since I started about two months ago and I feel like that's how one should feel after squatting

iktf user, I can't really give any advice but I was stuck with the same OHP weight for a whole month before progressing (35 to 37.5kg). What are the smallest plates you can use? I stalled for a while cause I could only go up in 2.5kg increments and am skelly mode

You think 30% in 3 weeks is a little? I've got news for you, son. When you get stronger you're not going to see a 30% increase over the course of a whole goddamn year.

If you can't handle that, quit right now.

Smallest plates are 1.25 kg so I can only go up in 2.5 kg increments too. That's fine though, I can up the reps to 4x6 + 1xF before increasing the weight as an intermediate step.
Started skinnyfat, eating 500 kcal deficit since starting and am now transitioning into skelly with a _little_ muscle. Big ego boost being able to see my abs even without flexing for the first time ever and my legs getting more solid!

Oh I can handle it, I was just wondering if it's normal. I have no baseline to compare it to, being a complete noob to lifting.

Hit "Submit" too early.
I guess the thing that confused me most is the discrepancy in gains between squats (+100%) and OHP (+33%).

The more total muscle mass is involved in the lift, the faster it'll progress. The overhead press utilizes less total muscle than the bench press, and way less than the deadlift and the squat. So it's always going to lack a little behind.
If you take something like a barbell curl, you'll find that that's even slower to progress for the same reason.

That being said, I believe anybody has the potential to OHP their bodyweight. Although this is obviously a longterm goal.

Thanks user, here's a cat for your troubles.
Would be pretty fun to be able to at least OHP qts for mires and fun.

Some guy in another thread was talking about a water fast where basically you can eat for a day, then water only for two days after that and repeat. I feel like trying this because ive recently plateaued, is this safe?

I'm not sure but I think that if you get nothing but water for several days you may risk issues with vitamins and sodium.

I also think it's a little bit RETARDED to go straight to a 48 hour fast just because you've "plateaued". But maybe that's just me. Do what you like.

Does taking Zantac (150mg) nearly everyday affect nutrition absorption by neutralizing stomach acids?

Went to doctor with chest/esophagus pain whenever I ate, he just gave me strong Zantac for a month. Went back still with mild pain a month later and he told me to just taking zantac whenever I need it and that it's fine to take daily. I feel like I might have a mild ulcer from one week where I abused instant coffee, cause that's when the problem started

Why does my jawline and face look stronger and better if I'm sleep deprived? It looks clearer and softer if I'm well rested but not as sharp and defined.
Also, is eating at night going to leave me bloated 100% of the time?

Come on

Don't understand the question.

So im going for an MRI tomorrow as ive had shoulder pain the last 2 months preventing me from benching and shoulder pressing.
Ive been to the physio and he thinks it could be tendinopathy, if this is the case am i fucked in terms of benching heavy in the future? and has anyone here dealt with anything similar?

Wait for an MRI before jumping to conclusions.
Are you certain that your form is good?

Whenever I fuck up my form and shoulders start aching I just take 1 week off from any pressing exercises with 5 days of Ibuprofen even if the pain goes away then I go back to it.

However not had issues for 9 months till I changed gyms and form was outta wack for a bit.

btw not sure how heavy you're going either I can only bench 132.5kg so not that heavy.
