I want to feel fuller and I'm not getting that from what I'm eating (breakfast is steel cut oats and rice at dinner). Will cutting carbs work? I would go full keto but I started dating (and I want to go places occasionally).

If you are eating out, order a salat first and it eat slowly before your real meal arrives.
This also works wonders for holiday dinners like xmas:
I always load my first plate with veggies only and drink loads of water with it to kill my hunger before I go to the delicious stuff.
You can be that guy who orders salad and chicken wings and bunless burgers everywhere you go like I do.
What's a good meal prep that I can have for breakfast? Egg fritta mixed with vegies?
ketogenic diet. just google and learn
> I would go full keto but I started dating (and I want to go places occasionally).
I read that, my advice stands. Use google find out what you can eat and find keto shit online. Find keto foods online. I can easily go to a place of food, tell them I want a salad wrap burger with no ketchup, carbs or sugary shit.
If you're going to be one of those "i'm dating so I'll let her needs go before my own health" type of guys, lmao good luck. You wont get far.
Be firm, say "no I will not eat those carbs because I'm on a diet" or whatever and if you cannot do that, then whatever, don't ask for advice.
I eat once a day on keto and feel full for over 24h, I just happen to eat every 24h because it's so damn delicious.
ruled.me
ketoconnect (youtube)
I eat keto bread, keto burgers, all types of food.
Besides if you really want to enjoy life while on keto, best is to make homemade dinners for you and your gf, it's like going out, kind of. So you spent the entire evening outside somewhere then you cook for her, what's not to love.
>eat sausages
>eat steak
>eat salads
>eat burgers with lettuce instead of buns
sausages have like 150cal each. Two eggs are ~100cal so like two sausages and and two eggs is already 400cal.
lol
Why is it useless? Im not watching a 37 minute video. You know posting long videos as an argument is a sign of you being weak on the subject. Counting calories absolutely fucking works.
>10kgs down in as many weeks simply by running a 1K deficet
lmao
No. Either you take the time or continue with your calorie counting. Your choice, I am not hurt by your decision one bit lmao.
:^) idiot didn't watch video, doesn't know he is raping his metabolism, will regain all weight.
Let me know how it goes for you in a couple months.
p.s
I eat 3200 calories on average, keto diet, sedentary lifestyle (work at home, computer)
Do not go to gym.
I've lost over 100lb in 6 months.
10kg 1k deficit.
Kek.
you're right that guy should not pay attention to his tdee at all during a cut
back to /fast/ you faggot
I increased my daily caloric intake, Counted everything on the packages, gain weight. o tell me more on how it doesnt work you fucking moron.
>people actually believe this picture
fucking LUL
I posted the video you brainlet. I've watched it, I took the time to do the research, I've read the studies and papers on it. EVERYONE in the scientific community knows it does not work.
Do you honestly think I give two fucks if you actually take the time to watch the video and learn why you gained weight when increased calories or not? No i do not. I gave you enough, that video would explain it for you very simply yet you do not take the time, so do not ask me further.
Scientific wonder, completely blowing out of the water any and all studies on keto.
Only on /fat/, chub-cheeks.
>
I'm 170lb with 8% body fat, weighed 340lb when I started.
Chub-cheeks.
Kek.
Explain the ripped ultra high carb vegan bodybuilders then?
muh metabolic damage
leptin returns to baselines within a week of mantinence, slow bulk from there and you'll fix your weight set point within a few years
I'm glad you've found something that works for you, but lifting on keto is living hell and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone
Extremely insulin sensitive + huge amounts of time working out.
I do no working out at all. I eat 3200 calories per day, almost all of it fat. I burn 3200 calories per day, that's my resting metabolic rate.
If I was in a caloric deficit my body would stop burning 3200 and start burning the lower amount of calories. So when I get back to 3200 calories, I would be gaining weight again.
Watch the video ffs.
>i need a meme diet to lose weight
I'm not going to listen to some fat chink talk about stupid bullshit.
Lifting on keto is living hell...?
Lol, two of my friends are gym rats on keto, they outperform any carb cuck.
Secondly, I used to be a runner, ran 3 hours every single evening and never hit the wall, I never got tired. That's ketosis for you.
Good goy, keep doing carbs and calorie counting.
>keep doing carbs and calorie counting
lol "doing carbs"
You keto retards are so retarded. You all go through this phase where you worship Gary Taubes and a few other unqualified morons until you realize keto is a meme, and then by the time you switch over to high carb plant-based you'll have to deal with new ketards trying to tell you the dangers of SUGAR! and INSULIN RESISTANCE!
The healthiest and longest living populations have always eaten primarily plants.
The point of not doing keto while dating would be that keto gives horrible breath smell due to buildup of ammonia.
Good goy... that's it.
Truth be told I honestly do not give a shit if you do it or not dude, I've given you the video, if you had a brain you'd watch it. But you don't and so I let you weed yourself out.
You honestly think you eating carbs and calorie counting bothers me or something? Like I'll beg you to be keto? I don't give a shit, I find people like you rather pathetic to be completely honest.
I read scientific journals, never even heard of the guy you mentioned. Again if you'd watch the video... :^) you're a good goy, jewish lords are proud of you my friend.
Man is supposed to be in ketosis, we didn't have food at all times, fasted for days before we found food etc. "muh gains lost if i dont carb up, eat 6 times a day"
Kek'd.
not denying keto is great for endurance, I could sit on a treadmill for most of the evening at 15% incline and only got off when I ran out of water, but any compound exercises made me want to fucking kill myself, even a month in
it's worth giving it a shot when you escape deathfat mode, you'll see what I'm talking about
A month in and you're barely even fat adapted. I've been doing keto for a long time. I started at 340lb and before that I was doing carbs, all types of Veeky Forums diets that you guys recommended I do.
My health got shit, I was weak etc.
Now I'm 170lb I don't go to the gym and have done barely any working out for the last year since I'm so busy with running my businesses and I still have a six pack and I have stayed at 8% or below for years eating 3200 calories daily.
My two friends are huge guys lifting like crazy doing a strict 20g carbs per day keto diet and are the most fit people I know. They got no trouble with weights so idk what your problem was but it's not exactly normal on keto.
>I always load my first plate with veggies only and drink loads of water with it to kill my hunger before I go to the delicious stuff.
I always do this too around the holidays but then I just end up stuffing my face with the horrible foods anyways
impressive results for sure and maybe it warrants another try, but calorie restriction is working fine for me right now and I'm enjoying chicken and rice a lot more than sausages and eggs, if you'd believe that
still, thanks for the insight
if I end up regaining fat to any extensive degree following my cut I'll definitely consider doing keto again, but I think that the body is a complex enough machine to allow multiple options for sustained fat loss
Alright man, good luck to you. But I'd watch the video I posted here and learn a bit about it: I do hope it works out for you and that you're not in the 99% percentile. I do care for people's health, I've struggled with weight my entire life until now so I know what it's like spending a year working out in the gym, eating the low fat diets with carbs and proteins. It raped my metabolism, only fasting and keto has brought it back.
God bless.
>we are supposed to be in ketosis because our anchestors who fought for survival had to often suffer days without food
Wow, can't make that shit up. I don't give a fuck about your retarded diet choices, but keep it low on these idiotic statements please.
No award winning athlete is doing a keto diet, sit down.
You really should learn about the human body, I can't even mock you anymore, now it's just sad.
Your argument "no professional athlete does it therefore" is so retarded, did I even have to tell you that or are you trolling?
There are studies done showing that the difference between people with the highest and lowest metabolism amount to only about 500 calories a day and that's at the most extreme. If you want an article on it, describing the study with sources, Google "Does metabolism vary between two people?" and click the examine, com link.
The reason why so many people regain the weight isn't because of metabolism, it's because the majority of people who diet think of it as a temporary change that they can quit once they get fit, instead of as a lifestyle change. If they were to continue eating at a caloric maintanence, it would be physically impossible for them to gain weight.
Watch.
The.
Video.
I'm out. This is getting boring, everything you said is spoken about in the video and shows why the thinking is completely wrong.
The failure rate of caloric deficit is over 99% because obesity and weight gain is not about calories at all.
Again, I eat 3200 calories DAILY and never move. My body burns 3200 calories. I sit at a fucking computer for over 8h per day and when I'm done all I wanna do is cuddle my gf, watch netflix and sleep. Been like this for a year. 8% bodyfat.
Watch the video.
Your argument is that the fact that the human body can survive days without eating somehow means that we should permanently be in that state.
You cited your two mates and yourself to prove how you can physically perform on keto.
Yet you and your two mates are irrelevant people, probably incredibly bad at what they are doing.
Similar to your argument, where you cited yourself and your mates, I cited the rest of the worlds athletic population.
And here you are telling me that my argument is bad.
I don't even want to mock you saying this, but simply the way that you are constructing your posts and trying to argue with me shows me that you aren't capable of constructing logical thoughts and thus probably aren't really smart.
Anyone with a bit of logical thinking can immediately tell that by reading the few posts we have exchanged.
Mfw I'm working on a PhD in psychology and you talk about logical thinking and intelligence.
Truth be told, I just don't care enough about people like you to give you the scientific journals I have bookmarked on the computer.
I spoke about myself and my friends not as evidence of anything, anyone can say anything. The fact is, I gave you a video, you did not watch it, therefore you get nothing else, you get no worthy discussion from me, you get nothing of value. All you get is me mocking you and even that is impossible because of how stupid you truly are.
Like I said to the other guy, I'm out. Make a post in 6 months and tell me how your caloric deficit has been going and how hungry you feel because of your hormone imbalances and the amount of increased grhemlin your body is going to produce. I'll laugh at you audibly, record it on vocaroo and send it to you.
>good goy
I'm on a whole food plant based vegan diet.
The jews want me to buy fruits, vegetables, and whole grains?
Ketards are fucking morons.
What foods to avoid to keep me full?
>raping his metabolism, will regain all weight
what's this, some fatlogic?
lol
post your body then with a timestamp u lying faggot
>Yeah bro I totally used to run a minimum of 100+ miles a week on keto , trust me bro haha .
Fucking lying fatty .
you have a problem my good sir, get your hormones checked. if you are not 6'4 your body is dying at a faster rate than all of us. That is if what you said is true and you actually burn 3200 calories a day.
Literally lying fatty (((projecting))) himself in the future because he believe is magic diet will get him cut & fit , he's not really sure his diet will get there but posting about it and convincing people to follow hip in his lunacy make him feel better and reinforce the feeling that he will (not) make it . He's lying through his teeth on every post .
yeah, if they dont post results, they are always lying
It's not hard to just take your phone out , take a piece of paper , write the date and take out your shirt in the toilet , take 5 minute top , probably a CEO of a top company that can't spare 5 minute ( but can shitpost on 4 chan for hours )
The "95% of people will regain all the weight" thing is total bullshit bro. It was based on a 1959 study with only 100 people lol, and they basically told them what to eat during the diet and let them go on their way afterward without telling them anything on how to eat/what a deficit was
But yeah your video dude is the only one whos right. Its physics, years of medical expertise, personal testimonies, and professional nutritionists that are wrong
Cant believe I fell for this bait
yeah.. Veeky Forums loves memes
Convincing people they've been brainwashed it the best way to brainwash them
yes they want you to buy the cheapest and lowest profit margin foods... hmm..
pretty much this.
also stop eating heavy shit for breakfast, try to stick to something light like banana or pear.
>using pastries as a sign of low calorie/high carb
that fails at two levels
Agreed. I'm on Keto at about a 1k deficit, been on it for two months. 35lb lighter than when I started. Down to 189lb right now, I'll try to drop another 10 or 15 and then bulk through the winter.
I definitely have the energy to get through my workouts (LP program with 3 compounds and 3 assistance, 3x/week), but I'm exhausted by the end and the compounds are devastating me. My lifts have all dropped at least 10% (OHP has the biggest drop), and my recovery is horrendous. This is partially due to only getting 5-6hr sleep every night (engineering senior), but the diet is certainly having an effect.
I don't care much though, it's temporary. Once I'm done I'll go to a 300 or 400 surplus, but I plan to try and keep carbs low (not keto low) and only consume them early in the day before lifting.
Sitting on a treadmill don't require much effort fat fuck , even if it's at an high angle .
This thread id a proof that fat directly cause cognitive dissonance .
The ultra marathoner 8% body-fat bodybuilder but who don't do sports anymore and eat 3200 calories a day , and he has two BIG jacked friend who do the same.
Really make you think uh
So... it looks like Veeky Forums doesn't like keto. I guess that means keto has something to it and is worth investigating further.
Fruits = high in sugar, one apple = one can of soda.
Veggies = high in carbs = carbs turn to glucose = glucose is sugar = more sugar.
whole grains = carbs = turn to sugar
Good goy... that's it. Eat those 'healthy' meals.
I have both before and after pics of my weightloss journey, but like I told the other guy, you guys want to ignore the science and studies, you get nothing of worth from me. I frankly do not care if you continue with your calorie counting and carbs. Enjoy it.
Mfw when it's all true. This is how hard you just cannot believe it? :^)
Kek, man had 10k calories per day for a whole year on keto as an experiment, he was healthy as fuck. Maybe do research? Read studies? Use brain? I'm starting to think Veeky Forums is THE most brainlet board and we have a mlp board on Veeky Forums.
Caloric deficeit on keto, says keto is making his lifts hard. :^) People should laugh at this and yet you're serious.
Good man, do the research do not listen to anyone, not even me.
???
Yeah man, I think keto is making my lifts hard. I've done a plain-Jane high protein calorie-counting cut before at the same deficit, and my recovery is much worse on Keto.
I think you got the wrong impression. I love the diet for the weight loss, it's incredible how fast the fat is falling off me, and I don't feel nearly as hungry as I do on a cut where I'm really only tracking calories & protein.
That doesn't mean we need to come in here acting like keto is the be-all, end-all diet for all possible applications . It has its niche, and IMO it's the best diet to lose weight fast, period.
Check your electrolytes. There should be an increased recovery time, not less. Do keto right.
>high carb shows pictures of cake, donuts etc
>low carb shows vegatables and lean meats
Hmmm rlly makes u think huh? So because cake is bad, yams, potatoes and rice are bad in moderation?
>low calorie diet
>store fat
>I started dating
Eat your new girlfriend's fetid poon. That will surely ruin your appetite.
carbs spike insulin
insulin tells your body to store fat
???
profit
>keto is satiatating!
>I ate 3200 calories each day!
Fat fuck like you probably had 4k+ calorie TDEE
>Insulin is the cause of everything
Has nothing to do with weight loss. You can't store what isn't there.
Can I just go get some supps for this?
You can try, personally supps make my stomach hurt a lot so I don't do them, I just eat a lot of greens, put salt on everything, get my potassium as close as I can to RDI (6grams) etc.
>people call this bullshit and praise calories in calories out
I swear to fuck the moment I cut out 90% of carbs I lost weight. Macros > calories in calories out
>b-b-but muh laws of physics
Protein and fat makes you more sated and thus you will eat less anyway. You really don't even need to fucking try when you are keto and mix it with IF. Only moms count calories.
But that's not possible because your TDEE changes as you age as well as what hormones are going through your body. Post-menopausal women for example, or those with immune disorders have even more trouble losing weight. There are people with TDEE of 1000 calories or less while some have 1800. That is a lot more than 500 calories difference.
>inb4 someone doesn't believe TDEE goes that low
Look up an old woman who is 80 years old who is 5 feet and under. Now look up a man who is 20 and 6 feet tall. TDEE is a difference of 1000+ calories for maintenance. Your metabolism becomes slower as you age, even when you exercise. It's unavoidable. The thing is, most people are just not used to actually eating even less as they get older and completely changing their diet. And that's what makes it an uphill battle for most older people.
>Craving salty foods? You don't need salt! You need chloride and silicon!
>Fruits = high in sugar, one apple = one can of soda.
>Veggies = high in carbs = carbs turn to glucose = glucose is sugar = more sugar.
>whole grains = carbs = turn to sugar
I can't even imagine life being this dumb. How do you do it?
>I swear to fuck the moment I cut out 90% of carbs I lost weight
He forgot about water
heuheuheuheu
Chloride is salt, isn't it? At least, sodium chloride is, for sure. So it's basically telling you to get your salt from elsewhere.
Drink more water buddeh
But the water in my area tastes like ass and is full of rust particles and I refuse to buy bottled water from the nestle jew.
Carbs are absolutely necessary for athletic performance
keto is only useful for fatties who need to lose a lot of weight or people with certain medical conditions but thats about it
B-b-but the keto master guru told me that I'd have access to a BIG energy tank , isn't this better for endurance ?
LMAOING at retard who don't understand the vitality of carbs for performance , no a single ultra marathoner run keto , some do ''low" carb during some part of their training blocks but on race day they chug thousands of gram of carbs
Most normal people aren't marathon runners or do competitions. So for most people, keto and IF actually work. And not just for fatties of course, anyone with sensitivity to sugar or immune issues (thyroid disorders) should do it.
carbs and moderators
it's sub-optimal for both health & performance, there is ZERO reason to bottleneck your carbs availability , any recognized coach will tell you it's the most important macro for both performance & recovery
>bottleneck your carbs
that's illegal
So I just wanted to share my experience with you guys. First of all, I have always had some extra fat on me (more or less depending on my activity levels) but so far I could not go under 15% bodyfat, even when I trained muay thai at a professional level (I had 8 training sessions a week, before and after school). I did not know jack shit about proper nutritution. I only knew some basic things, Like fruits are veggies are good for you, so the momscience stuff. So even when I was training like a madman, I ate like a madman too, so even if I managed to lose some fat it was really slow, and not that much (yeah, I can eat a fucking huge amount of food). This spring I had some quite serious exams, I did not train, and didn't watch what I eat. Results of course came, and when I was done with all the exams and had my relief vacation I was around 25% bodyfat, and was weak as shit. Then something clicked in me, I was really disgusted by myself and started learning nutritution. I was in ketosis for a little more than a week, combined with intermittent fasting (16-8 to be specific), and trained 5 days a week, two times a day. (I did it from themiddle of July) One was HIIT, and the other was calisthenics. In that period of time (it was like 8-9 days) Imanaged to lose 3 kgs, and I got stronger. Then I got out of keto, and started calorie counting. The process slowed down, but I could still lose fat, and I did a few weeks of recomposition, so I gained lean muscle mass too. Then I had plans made from before my fitness journey began, so I had a solid 2 weeks of vacation, but I did managed not to lose muscle (ocassional workouts), and I only put on 1,5 kgs. Right now I am at 12% bodyfat, training calisthenics, I got stronger, I look and feel better and on my way to 9-10%. So my point is that both keto and calorie counting works, but they are for different life situations. Keto is great to kickstart in fat loss, and if you don't eat like shit after it, the fat won't come back.
>cont
Same goes for calorie counting, only it isn't that fast, and you have to work your muscles if you want to maintain them. And another thing about keto: lifting (or simply resistance training) is NOT living hell while in keto: sure, the first few days maybe bad, but it's only because your body needs time go from carbs to fats. But after you get into ketosis, you will have high energy levels. The downside is that when you are starting keto, your wits won't be the same as beforehand; you gonna get a little bit slower, but it will come right back as your body starts using fat. To make this worse, you should not stay in keto for too long, it can cause serious damage. So, to sum up everything: both have pros and cons, and both can be used effectively if you are doing it smart. However, if you are doing it wrong, both can lead to serious health problems, keto could be worse; so if you don't know properly how should you do it, research first. I hope I could help, keep on lifting!
"To make this worse, you should not stay in keto for too long, it can cause serious damage."
Lol, no. Show scientific evidence.
Just look up how scientists found out about keto: they had witnessed it in some eskimo tribes. Their lifespawn was quite short (if your bodyfat goes too low, you eventually gonna die from it). Point is, if you want to keto, you should do it in cycles.
lol yeah eskimos have low body fat
A+ post
They have a mutation of the CPT1A gene, which is linked with breaking down fats. So yeah, technically they did not have low body fat, but only because of this mutation. The low fat argument was meant for "normal" non-mutated ppl. Still, there is a slight chance of damage, but the correlation is not fully proven nor debunked. This is why I stated that one should use it carefully.
Edit: breaking down fats from digestion in the stomach if it wasn't obvious.
Show scientific evidence.
