He's anti-christ

1. He's not Pope.
2. He's a heretic.

Historically speaking, this isn't history

we aren't too happy. we're factionalizing into a jesuit/liberal vs conservative/rollback split.

the young clergy want the gays out and they want to stand up to islam. but francis is a partner-level member of the neoliberal elite. he mandates neoliberal talking points into sermons and a lot of us are not happy.

He betrayed the Catholics in China, he is a terrible Pope.

t. r/catholicism

he's not a pope of any kind

He is better than most Popes (who were corrupted as fuck).

too bad he's also taken a vocal stand against rampant consumerism and the profits-over-people mentality of neoliberalism

He strikes me very much as someone who believes in catholic social teaching, even if he does seem naive on migration issues

It's a meh papacy, but not as bad as people make it out to be. Really and truly not a lot has happened. I think there is too much focus on the pope since the rise of TV and internet, 99% of what the pope does has no impact on your average Catholic, yet if the pope says some ambiguous thing or has an opinion people don't like they act like it's the end of the world or like the Church is dependent on the pope.
Not all Jesuits are wishy-washy hippy types.
>who were corrupted as fuck
That's just not true.

the place gives me a headache imaging someone in real life saying what they type out

A fair amount are goofs larping as traditionalists and LE DEUS VULT XDDD, but it's for the most part orthodox at least theologically. Something I've noticed about a lot of conservative American internet Catholics is that they're basically like batshit evangelicals in their social views, but they're annoyingly smug about being Catholic and will never cease to remind you of it.

He is a good pope. For the simple reason that he manages to keep Churches' head above the water by empowering popular factions and abandoning lost but entrenched causes. Which is aligning the centre of Catholic with religious societies, like Latin America itself, instead of Atheistic and Secular Western Europe.

It's worth mentioning that he is pretty energetic, diligent and modest, which is alone a significant virtue among the docile, sometimes decadent, hedonists who become popes.

He's a good pope shepherding the church into a new era.

People think he's liberal but he's not, he's just Jesuit.

DEUS VULTers tend to be WASP Americans anyway.

He is by no means liberal, he just fell for the "Jesus was a pacifist" meme

user literally summarized Francis for you.
>People think he's liberal but he's not, he's just Jesuit.

>Historically speaking, is he a good pope or just a meme?

All Popes go to hell for eternity - always have and always will.

what the fuck is this schizophrenic nonsense?

Just don’t respond. He feeds on attention. Every response he gets is another chance to shill his YouTube.
