Bout to start another 7-day, boys

This time gonna try taking phenibut night 2 and 3 to see if that helps get over the initial hunger hump

Catch you fags l8r

I've heard about and have been looking into dry fasting
Still super dangerous though
refeeding is also a cunt

How do you guys fast whilst training? Genuine question here.i want to get on board this fasting thing but can't see how it won't affect my gains, do you just not eat on training days and rest days, how can you repair muscle like that?

idmprogram.com/fasting-and-exercise-fasting-23/

Fasting preserves muscle. We would be fucked 4000 years ago hunting, not having food for a week and all of the sudden our body decides to eat our muscles instead of our stored fat. Mankind would not exist today if that was the case.

I do normal workouts on both IF and extended

Will do water fast for the first time tomorrow

i once did IF with 200mg dnp a day for a month. -23lbs fat. wouldn't recommend tho

>tfw your oc is used in the op

i like starting a prolonged fast with 3g phenibut.

>If you have any sticky suggestions, post them and they will be included in the future

yes, two.

1.link to last thread in op
2.post link to new thread in old thread

Just started a fast today. Was originally going to do 3 days but I think now probably 5 at least. Maybe 7 if I don't have anything come up that I wouldn't want to miss out on.

I'm 11 days deep into IF and keto, hitting a minor plateau (weighed 184 for 3 days in a row now)

I haven't taken a shit in a week and I'm considering taking a stimulant laxative (fuck vegetables)

Good idea or not? I have taken them before and shat out tons and tons of water

if you're constipated, why not?

make sure to drink water, and lube your asshole.

Guys. What's the consensus on adderalls/vyvanses affect on IF?

During a long water fast, does taking vitamin pills like b complex and biotin start the digestive system back up or no?

slow intro of food is the only real way, most of it is because your GI tract has undertaken extensive repairs and is sensitive

So if I were to do OMAD, how many calories would I eat, if I were to count calories? Is it still just TDEE - 500/1000. I'm a fat bitch so I don't have a strong "stop eating" signal

eat to satiety if you're doing keto famalam

who here /PSMF/

Who here /bought the book/?

2/3 of the way through after only having it a few days (its a good read)

I didn't realize how much science there was both backing this up and falsifying the common dietary advice.

>PMSF
>totally killing your fast gains by taking in protein you don't need
PSMF was in the days before we knew that protein is protected during fasts and has a horrible CR-bias where you do in fact shed muscle because it's a horrible diet

I don't think I have words or a reaction image suitable enough

I will be doing keto but like I said it seems like I have no satiety signal

Anyone here already low bodyfat and still fasting regularly for spiritual gains?

check'd

I got a long term rib sprain from doing pullups that I suspect is actually TMS brought on by my dad's passing that pushed me into fasting for them autophagy gainz
Have oddly enough been poking around on 8ch's /christian/ and even picked up a bible the other day

Trust me, you will be full for a very, very long time on keto. 24h+

Jesus is Lord.

fuck vegetables? what are you 10?
there is not excuse, they are necessary especially for keto diet.

this. also modafinil and the like?

>super dangerous
lmao just be a highly gifted buddhist master and meditate 24/7

So to do the Keto diet don't drink or eat anything?Or can I drink?

source?

anyone have some quality keto meal recipes they want to share?

read the fucking sticky and you'd see the great article called "muscle loss on fasting?"by dr. fung

Hey OP I've been making fasting threads here nobody ever replies so I'm glad to see this.

I'm 170 pounds 10% body fat. I'm on day 16 of my water fast, by day 20 I'll by 8% body fat.

I'm still training and my lifts aren't changing which means I'm not losing much muscle.

By the way I'm totally cheating. Taking Vyvanse to kill my appetite and exercise.

it must have been very difficult for you to make that post on Veeky Forums

i don't have any pictures saved of an actual retard, to convey the point that i think you're fucking retarded.
take this taylor instead.

That was a surprisingly gentle way to call a guy that doesn't know what Google is retarded.

Diet Doctor has great recipes, keto pizza and keto phillycheesesteak casseroles are mainstays of my diet because they're too good.

i want a peer reviewed journal/article that links high protein consumption during VLCD w/o fasting and poor nitrogen retention. also how low energy are these meals between fasts?

google it you subhuman he even has links to studies while he discusses it

You only need about 40 grams of protein for muscle retention. The rest can be fats and carbs. You can also just eat once every two days for 99% muscle retention.

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4254277/
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4899145/
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2829867/

???? what? i wasn't asking whether or not fasting causes low muscle loss, i was referring to PSMF incurring muscle loss you fucking mouthbreather. as far as i'm concerned i haven't seen such an article as you need in situ densitometry to verify that this muscle loss is even occurring

I don't think he implied PSMF causes muscle loss, rather, it makes fasting much harder by needlessly spiking your glucose and insulin by having you eat to "protect" muscle that would be protected in a fast anyways.

idmprogram.com/fasting-and-muscle-mass-fasting-part-14/
Here's a great fung article

FASTING KILLS MUSCL-

...

>vegan

you're supposed to do 4 hours of moderate activity to retain the muscle fatass. that study is horseshit.

I did PSMF and I felt much more hungry, lost less fat and kept the same amount of muscle mass as doing water fasts. Also you have to be very very precise with what you eat.

Just do 3 days water fasting, one day keto, and that fucking fat will melt off.

>obese diabetics do not eat at all every other day and probably return to their horse shit diet for the feast day
>still manage to either COMPLETELY retain or even gain muscle
>thinking this won't transfer into massive fucking gains and performance bonuses for young ubermenschen /fast/ers

everybody turn and laugh at the CRaPlet as he goes on a cut and loses weeks of hard earned gainz because he doesn't know shit

>when the fat lady at work is in shock cuz i missed breakfast

i literally have to tell lies because someone might call the cops if i tell them i haven't eaten in days

I'm actually pissed at myself for doing CICO for so many years. I lost fat much slower and actually burned more muscle. How is it that we couldn't have discovered this shit 10 years ago?

could be worse. 20 years ago you'd be buying low fat food and drinking coke every day.

or what i did, which was 90% carbs because rice diet.

thank you this looks like interesting stuff; i'll have to read deeper into endocrinology to wrap my head around some of it. i think some of this makes sense from correlation though some of the causation seems muddled.

do any of you perform training on fasting?

i don't get people that say CICO is bs. it's not a diet, it's a principle. if you eat only potatoes of course it's not going to end well, but provided your diet is "balanced" CICO should yield good results

were you tracking calories or eyeballing?

Not eating sounds insane in the modern world to be quite honest, also a lot of negative stigma because of anorexics

Yeah, I do my normal training +HIIT right after
easy as pie.
Seeing a lot of strength gains but I was injured for half a year and could only pick lifting back up in early september, so I'll see how this goes as I reintroduce to powerlifting

For maximum ketosis you can do exercise as light as golfing. Lifting is probably a bit too much at first but if you're already in good fitness, low rep training is a bonus. I did 10 deadlifts and 10 weighted chin ups today.

This is a really good article despite the clickbait titles

main.poliquingroup.com/ArticlesMultimedia/Articles/Article/1143/Eight_Common_but_Dangerous_Mistakes_of_A_High-Fat_.aspx

Tracking calories, before I had a smart phone I even bought those little books with popular foods and their calories. CICO definitely works, but is much slower than water fasting and burns more muscle.

Too much protein has just been shot down over the past week, Think ted naiman or p.d. mangan should have a tweet with the article.
While I don't fear meat consumption, still trying to find a way to offset the methionine consumption since I don't have easy access to gristile

sounds reasonable. do you start to find that your energy is fucked during the water fast though?

OH for sure. I fell for the starvation mode meme too. I don't know who came up with "starvation mode" but they sure as shit did a good job spreading bs considering two big studies were done in the 70s/80s showing that there's no such thing.

>acidation of the body

fuck off with psuedoscience

yeah but just cause eating is fucking stupid

>While I don't fear meat consumption, still trying to find a way to offset the methionine consumption since I don't have easy access to gristile
explain this shit please

well the bit about gluconeogenesis checks out, which really is a common mistake

I've been doing IF since before I even knew it was a thing. I've been wanting to incorporate some full day fasting, but don't know which days to add it and how to work my calories for other days. I have a Mon/Tues/Thur/Fri split. Should I just fast on Saturday and distribute the calories I would have eaten then to the other days? If so then should I distribute the macros as well or increase my protein on eating days to compensate for the lack of protein on the fasting day?

Red meat has no downsides and only offers nutrition and bioavailable micronutrients, this along with all those vegan studies on cancer risk being bunk because in the **animal studies** they injected the animals with carcinogens before going on to feed them *carcinogenic laden* carb-loaded chow with meat.

While there is now a good case for meat, there is one problem in that red meats contain large amounts of methionine, which SEEMS to cause free radical formation and mitochondrial damage in the gut over time.
The damaging effects of methionine can be mitigated by ingesting lycine, which is usually found in bone gelatin and meat gristle. However it's hard to get gristle or bone bits if you don't have access to a farm.

I suggest checking out zerocarb websites and twitter peeps/docs for more info, I'm still fairly new to all this

I would do the fast on Sunday. Eating is waaay more important after working out than before. In fact, training fasted is a good idea and many do it.

You don't need to make up for calories unless you're bulking, but only if the day before the fast day you prep correctly (no carbs 24 hours before fast).

I did hear a similar line of argument, but whether meat was or wasn't injected or contaminated in any way, the fact remains that in most countries this is the meat that they in supermarkets. I for one can't find a decent butcher that sells grass-fed beef. And that's why I only eat red meat once a week.

By the way you could try bone broth from just left overs, dunno how feasible I don't make it often myself.

I see. I guess I'll try doing it on Sunday then.

>You don't need to make up for calories unless you're bulking, but only if the day before the fast day you prep correctly (no carbs 24 hours before fast).
I'm currently trying to cut a few more pounds. Should I continue to cut on the nonfasting days? Some people seem to say that doing so gives them less calories to recover from workouts with than they need and that they prefer to eat at maintenance but I've read other things that say people felt fine cutting on eating days.

>optimise diet
>take supplements
>fast weekly
>up to date on latest research

...and every friday night i get smashed and smoke cigarettes. This is not even something I'd considered as weird until recently.

Watch the interview with Dr Fung in the OP. You can cut on eating days (TDEE - 500 or whatever you're used to) and then skip a day entirely without it affecting anything except some additional fat loss. No need to change your intake during the rest of the week, simply treat it as a day off in terms of eating.

Will do. Thanks, brah. I think I'm going to make it.

I wouldn't worry about content of meat unless you're eating tyson/stonyfield shit
You can't go wrong with aldi meat desu

also look at the attached picture

IKTF I've always thought eating everyday was a pain in the ass. Now I basically just bulk until I get to fast again.

which is the correct way to do it. historically we bulked in the summer for fat storage and extra heating, and lived off that in the winter. like snakes. ssss.

my cat has access to cat food 24/7.
he eats whenever he wants, so his eating window looks to be about 24 hours.
he has gotten pretty fat lately, and i fear he may become insulin sensitive and get the beetus.
sometimes i can hear him having breathing problems.

should my cat water fast?
how long should he fast for?
should i sprinkle salt in his water bowl?

keto is bad long term for kidneys and testosterone production

prolonged dry fasting with fruitarian diet

how dat pig carcass feel in ur colon shrimpy?

Just measure out a smallish portion of food for it, once in the morning and once at night. Look up a right amount online and buy some diet shit. Don't fucking starve your cat or I WILL find you.

Kek, i feel you

My sister was shocked when she had found out i didnt have breakfast for months while on IF... breakfast is the least important meal of the day anyways

> buy some diet shit.
i'm not going to give my cat diet pills,

morning and night seem too far apart, the window is too big.
maybe i should start him off with a shorter window like noon to night?
then just night, like one meal a day.

then try the water fast after he's adapted?

i just thought of something else, do i need to crush up a multivitamin and put it in his water if he does go on a fast?

Our ancestors didn't just wake up and go to their cave fridge to stock up on useless carbs for the day. They actually had to go outside and hunt something or climb a fucking tree if they wanted to eat. Breakfast is retarded.

>start 5 day
>all over inflammation drastically reduced except for 2 knots
>breathe better, breathe more quietly even when forcefully exhaling
>deep acne scars are lighter

Really contemplating if I should keep this up for the original length or take it to friday and make it a 6 day, This is my first 5 day and while it's been great so far my stomach acid is starting to act up

Breakfast sucks but if you're doing IF and you want to be conscious of your metabolism; Is actually the most important because insulin and insulin response is the lowest in the morning and increases throughout the day. I think Fung said that you're 15% more efficient and withholding food calories by dinner time and it also creates a long lasting spike throughout the evening and into the night.

That said, I don't have the time to wake up and cook all my shit for breakfast, so that's on the backburner for now

article:
idmprogram.com/eat-fast-break-fast/

I plan to fast and eat around 800-1000 calories per day when not fasting. What is the minimum required protein I need to consume? Is 40 g enough? I can get most vitamins/minerals on 1000 calories a day but protein seems a bit low unless I use powder.

I don't have any muscle, only fat. I know it's probably unhealthy. I only plan to do it for a couple of months, so ya...

>i'm not going to give my cat diet pills
are you retarded, he meant specialised food

It's normal to not shit when fasting, right? Or should you still be having liquid poop?

"His death shal bring comfort"
>Atheist
>already killed all gods.
>comfortable AF
kek, maybe there is a god

Got into it for Climate Change
Stayed for the gains.

Sup /fast/ I have gyno removal scheduled in 4 weeks.
Would it be reasonable for me to fast the next few days?

this is a question for your doctor

Do keto on bridge days between fasts, you'll stay in ketosis and you'll get plenty of protein in.

>Alternative fact : the thread
This is just /fat/ : Eating disorder in the making edition .

tip your fedora any harder?

I just pirated it.

you just put a small amount of food in his bowl once a day. do Americans let their cats graze on food all day long? what the fuck

Low IQ post

Keep on stressing your body so much that it doesn't even make you feel the need for food anymore , great job .
