What if USSR joined the Axis?

It would be a nightmare for the British. The USSR, Germany, and Italy could easily coordinate to seize:

1) Afghanistan, Iran, and India, cutting off Britain from her "crown jewel"

2) Through Turkey, seize Syria and Iraq, cutting off key sources of oil for the British. Then, proceed to Saudi Arabia and Yemen to cut off shipping.

3) Invade Egypt from East and West, then seize the rest of Africa, cutting off key raw materials.

The British would be starved of resources and inevitably collapse into civil war, right?

General Armchair strikes again

dude what if fascists and communists, both of whom would fight the other till one group is extinct, like teamed up man? now, pass me that bong, i gotta tell the boys on Veeky Forums all about it!

>dude what if fascists and communists, both of whom would fight the other till one group is extinct, like teamed up man?
To deal with a common enemy first? If Hitler was rational, this is what he would have done. Germany could never win a war on two fronts, so any hope of victory would involve taking out the British first before dealing with the USSR.

The USSR was in the Axis, unofficially

Please explain why the fuck Britain or the US would be considered an enemy of the USSR before the Nazis?

Anti-imperialism is the core of Marxist-Leninist ideology. In Stalin's writings, the British empire is treated with particular venom, since it oppressed hundreds of millions via colonialism.

Before Germany invaded the USSR, the Comintern instructed Communist parties to oppose WW2 as an imperialist war, just like WW1.

Stalin was also pissed off at the British for refusing to ally against Germany, which is why he signed the M-R pact in the first place.

Before Barbarossa, Stalin was feeding Germany with resources because he wanted a counter-balance against the British, the #1 world power at the time.

Because the capitalist powers hated, HATED, that a nation broke free of their yolk and the power of capital. Capitalists cannot stand if the workers gain power so they do whatever they must to crush them. From the USSR, to Vietnam, to Cuba, to Chile, this has been the one truth of the last century.

Seriously, it'd be as crazy as Capitalists and Communists teaming up. Or Monarchists and Republicans

reasons why the soviets ade a deal with the captist democracys instead:

uk and usa didnt explicitly plan on depopulating and colonizing 2/3rds of their county

uk and usa actually treated treaties and agreements more than toilet paper, which means they never had to worry about getting stabbed in the back

germany was a less powerful country than england, by far. the uk ruled the seas, and was backed by
half the colonies in the world, givingjer limitless resources. the german economy was relatively strong, but anglo R&D was streets ahead.

Eastern Europe and Germany were worth 10x as much as the indian subcontinent, why settle for a shitty consolation prize? Same reason italy joined entente

these are all the ones i thought off the top of my head

>If Hitler was rational
The Nazi regime would've never come to pass and we'd be on Mars.

Your scenario also presupposes that the rest of the world would be happy to let both countries team up

t. /leftypol/

Why would USSR hate British Empire more for """""opressing""""" milions instead of hating German EMPIRE for thinking of them as subhumans and wanting to genocide them?

>he USSR, Germany, and Italy could easily coordinate
No, no they couldn't.

The Germans couldn't coordinate jack shit with their allies unless they were directly telling them what to do. They didn't do "joint missions" well at all.

Seriously? They even fought against them in the Russian civil war.

you know hearts of iron is a game right?

>Seriously, it'd be as crazy as Capitalists and Communists teaming up. Or Monarchists and Republicans
capitalists and communists 'teamed up' in the face of a common foe, they didnt like or trust each other and spent the latter half of the war preparing geopolitical power blocs in opposition to eachother.

there is also the fact that the allies didnt represent a threat to russia whereas the germans clearly did

Fuck off LP

Germany and USSR were buddies until 1941.

Things went so far as Stalin making a serious offer to join the Axis, in return for concessions in the Balkans and other guarantees

Hitler wanted Stalin to invade India, but I think Stalin was afraid this was a trap. As soon as he moved the bulk of his forces south, Hitler could overrun the European part of the USSR.

Just goes to show you how unrealistic this alliance is.

You /gsg/fags make me sick. Real life isn't just a video game where you can click "improove relations" and get an alliance.

An alliance was impossible since Hitler would break it once he sees the chance. This isnt a video game

yeah but von ribbentrop was involved so it was doomed to failure from the get go
