Do dumbbell shoulder press for years

>do dumbbell shoulder press for years
>come on Veeky Forums
>read that doing it like pic related will fuck up your shoulders
What's the alternative then?

Elbows in

seated smith machine close grip high rep BTN press for ultra lateral delt gains
followed by lateral raises
then facepulls

Like this?.

Could you explain how it'll negatively affect your shoulders?

this
don't flare your elbows too far and you'll be fine

Bumping because I’ve been doing the OP pic, just on a bench tho.

Nevermind you can't rely on Veeky Forums for shit.

Good thing there's free info all over the internet.

tl;dr it'll fuck your shoulders but the solution is lifting your elbows 30 degrees in

>it'll fuck your shoulders
>solution
wat

Put your fucking elbows more in front of your dyel body

Make sure not to squeeze trapezeius muscle back to the point where hands are behind the ears. The hands should be adjacent to the face.

OHP
Lateral raises
This

my gym bro's physical therapist said OHP will demolish your shoulders
no idea how valid this claim is, I just do bench press

>OHP will demolish your shoulders
Was it autism ?

gym bro is a pretty big sperg, so quite possibly

>using your muscles will destroy them
guess I'll just sit on the couch for the rest of my life in that case

kek at the drawing

I feel this is a trap for Veeky Forums users to expose themselves... I've never seen anyone do the alternative method

The guy in OP pic is doing it on a bench

Why would you ever do this when Over Head Press exists?

just do arnold presses and the problem will correct itself

>do dumbbell shoulder press for years
If you've been doing it for literally years and have had no issues, then there is zero reason to not continue doing it. It's true that this variation can cause trouble for some individuals, but for you it's obviously fine. If it wasn't you would've felt it by now.

Physios as a profession don't know shit about strength training. I should know since I am one.
OHP is fine if you have the prerequisite mobility.

Yeah this is bullshit, if you don't use proper form obviously you'll get hurt. OP pic is fine.

makes them ouchie

alternate strength training due to balancing the weight in one hand

it's just a couple of weak little bitch boys who hate the fact that they can't even DB shoulder press 30 pounds. they can be safely ignored and ridiculed.

45 degrees is enough

a drawing from top view would've been better

lol it is like the safest shoulder exercise

>hehe back in my day I used to lift about as much as you do, that is until I hurt my shoulder. Enjoy it while it lasts ;)

>good form gives you forearm gains, chest gains, lat gains and goddamn glasses at the cost of losing your upper arms
