Dropping my deadlift weight and working on form and technique while I slowly build it back up. I pulled 645 at my first meet in June but had a lot of thoracic rounding.

Because his belly is gigantic and he's like 60% bf, which makes it hard for him to find good leverages when deadlifting. This is why a virtually every strong SHW powerlifter squats more than they pull.

Start the movement standing up instead of bent over. It's much easier to force yourself into a good position with a lot of weight on top of you. Couple other factors too. The big belly that would hurt your starting position for deadlift would help your bottom position in the squat, assuming you hit depth.

If you were pressed for time and had to rig things up to fit a shitty schedule, it'd work. Not something I'd want to run consistently or if I was in a position to try and maximise gains.

Not sure that I'd call that particular setup high frequency or particularly hard, but percentages are deceitful little things.

well shitty commercial bar vs texas power bar and the plates do weigh what they say my only guess is that either the weights at the gym are much lighter or the height is different and it throws me off

I think I might be going insane.

Time just froze for me at 10:36. Every clock, analog and digital, all said 10:36 and they were stuck there for hours.

I woke up, saw the time, 10:36. I fell back asleep, woke up and saw the time, 10:36.
Confused, I got up and had breakfast, and browsed Veeky Forums for what felt like 15 minutes. I then looked at the time, 10:36.

This is when I thought my phone must be busted. I walked around my house and checked every analog and digital clock there was, they all said the same thing, 10:36:30.

None of the clocks were moving.

My heart started racing and I phoned my dad, staring at the clock. I asked him what time it was, and he said 10:38. My clock still said 10:36, I walked into the other room with a different clock and the time was 10:38 and counting, and all other clocks soon said the same thing.

I haven't made this story up. I haven't done any drugs or nothing.

you always should tweak things according to your body. Maybe you respond better to higher volume. Try adding a set to the main and backoff set

if amrap reps go down means that you didnt recover, in that case add backoff sets do day 3. Trial and error bro

Film your normal bench sets and your AMRAPS. I wouldn't be surprised if your form deteriorates over the set, to the point it affects the AMRAP.

Could the guy just not be used to volume? E.g I did 2 years of TM and never went above 5 reps when I went to the gym with new guys and they wanted to do 10-12 reps I would get so gassed after the first set even though the weight was 10-20% below my working sets. Thankfully doing hepburn for 4 weeks has improved my capacity shitloads.

If he's only done week 1 and 2 of day 1, he's never gone above six reps on it. If he's coming off solely low rep programming and/or uses a hard arch when benching, it wouldn't be that unusual for him to run into issues with longer sets.

It could be, but it's important to consider all aspects of a problem because if it is his form, it could be a simple almost immediate fix.
Always try to pick the low hanging fruit first - we can tell immediately if it's inefficient form, whereas manipulating volume can take a while to see an affect.

Try a couple of cycles. If it's not working at all, go to the high volume one.

Not necessarily, a large proportion of technique issues I see are rooted in setup errors. So in that case the intervention needed would be to clean up the setup. Exposure to longer sets won't help with that.

Let's say over the set user forgets his leg drive or back tightness, and gets looser and looser as the set goes on. Eventually the longer sets will serve as a way to practice holding a good position for more reps just by virtue of continued practice, but the process would be much quicker if he's making a conscious intervention to hold that position. If he never gets told to review his form, he wouldn't know to make the intervention.
