My dentist quoted me $4,500 to get an upper first premolar (4th teeth from the center) replaced with and implant.
There is no infection. It suddenly broke into two pieces while chewing on some food that wasn't even hard (dark chocolate), there was no warning sign (pain, etc.) before it broke, and it didn't hurt after it broke as long as I didn't chew.
Does $4,500 to get one tooth replaced seem kinda high to you, or is that what dentists normally charge these days? I'm in Southern Ontario, Canada btw and the price is in Canadian dollar (C$4500 ~= US$3550).
Why the fuck are you posting on fitness. Do you know what google is?
Zachary Long
Ask another dentist, google the average price. You guys aren't covered for dental? Sounds like some burgerland shit.
Gabriel Thompson
I thought you guys had free health care in Canada.
Leo Lopez
You do know this is a fitness board don't you? Anyway do more squats until you grow a new tooth.
Chase Morgan
No dentistry coverage.
Christopher Green
>Health and good teeth have nothing to do with physical fitness
Nolan Lopez
Veeky Forums is no longer health & fitness for a reason. Too many skin, teeth and dick threads.
Ian Foster
It's still skin and dick threads.
Jason Wood
where at in ON OP? I'm in Ottawa :)
Justin Rodriguez
Shop around, if the prices are still unreasonable then start looking around Tijuana Mexico. Even with the cost of a plane ticket it will still be cheaper.
Thomas Walker
lol fucking canada on its high horse and it doesn't even provide dental. probably doesn't provide vision either
meanwhile I have health and dental for like 15 bucks a month.
Angel Clark
I was quoted 3k in North Carolina. didn't bother but if I ever save up enough money I'd consider it.
Alexander Gutierrez
Kitchener
Alexander Baker
jesus, that sucks
Matthew Hernandez
>ontario canada
my nigga
Joshua Edwards
you could probably get it down for half that in Mexico or something
Daniel Stewart
jesus christ thats expensive i know implants are expensive but does it have to be 10x as expensive as in netherlands?
Liam Clark
HA HA! Toothlet!
Ian Brooks
yeah but you're gonna get SHOT by the POLICE in america! or your fellow citizens!!! hurrr
Camden Foster
Brush your teeth with calcium phosphate. Google "teeth reminilization"
I've had the exact same issue you do and it grew back (something modern science says is impossible) also bone broth is super important when doing it.
Caleb Bailey
Does it really only cost $450 in the Netherlands? Even without insurance?
Christopher Cox
nope that's par for the course. that's why you should have dental insurance (i.e. work)
Thomas Brooks
I have dental insurance. The insurance will only pay for half because that's the price they decided is fair (which is probably unrealistic).
Isaac Flores
i dont know exact prices my man, i havent gotten implant. But i know costs are regulated across the country and it probably keeps them down a bit
The procudure and recovery was painful, but it's worth every cent. If you can't afford it, ask for cheaper alternatives.
Camden Bailey
Can any foreigner walk into a Dutch dental clinic and get treatment? I heard most Dutch people very good English, but medical professionals might be reluctant to communicate with patients in non-native languages because of chance of misunderstanding.
My tooth has to be pulled. The only other option is dental bridge, which is more prone to failure, and the quote for that was $3,500.
Evan Robinson
im polish, but i work here, i have insurance in netherlands, but it doesnt cover dental costs. And lately i had issue with my tooth, they ripped it out and i was charged 40~euro, bill came in post. I didnt get implant, so i have hole in there now Very nice service, and im going to fix rest of my teeth (at least 2 to rip out and few to fix with fill ins) this november.
I dont know if you can just take trip here, but it would be probably even cheaper in places like Poland. And in private clinics done as well as in western europe.
I just dont want to drive to poland by car or fly because its a hassle for me really.
Ethan Wright
Dentist here, you're better off with an implant, lasts a longer time than a dental bridge and is less problematic in the long run.
Dental bridges also require you messing up the tooth before and after the one that must be removed to have some space to build up the restoration on both teeth to support the part of the bridge over the removed tooth.
Sebastian Nelson
That's a massive ripoff for a single implant mate.
Isaiah Perez
This board hasn't been Health and Fitness for a long time mate. The board name was changed for a reason.
Jeremiah Parker
Nigger what the fuck. I got quoted at 10k for 8 teeth, was in a bad accident and broke them. That's a ripoff.
Jonathan White
My parents paid something like 6000 or 7000€ for two implants of mine (implants+crown), it was 7 years ago.
Thing is pretty good, people never notice until you tell them and it feels almost like a real tooth. Also it last decades (a whole life maybe ?), so if you can afford it i recommand it.
Liam Collins
>posting a health related question on a health and fitness board.
Chase Gonzalez
>Not having all of your teeth removed and replaced with implants Y'all are a bunch of poor people
Bentley Garcia
>gets stabbed by an Arab wandering the streets of Toronto >thanks perpetrator
>gets shot by another Asian gang in Vancouver >licks each members asshole as a sign of respect for their culture
ah! the beautiful and marvelous land of Canada where we have free healthcare* Burgers BTFO! How will they ever recover?!
*Healthcare does not include dental, vision, general check ups or healthcare provided by a licensed health professional. Healthcare will be provided by an under qualified Indian migrant who doesn't speak English. Healthcare will incur fees amounting to 40% of your income whether or not you use or need any healthcare.
Brayden Murphy
>health and fitness No, just fitness
Grayson Myers
Not even us in Sweden have free dental care, you're really delusional if you think that should be included
Elijah Anderson
Hire me pls, recent RDA graduate and apparently nobody hires male RDA's in my city. Going to uni soon for Hygeine or Dentistry, whichever my grades let me do.
Sebastian Young
>herr i dont wanna pay for everyone else >except for roads of course >and public schools >and the military >and the disabled >and retirees >and medical research >and infrastructure >stupid socialists
Nicholas Smith
Tbh if you did this ie all twenty four teeth it wouldn't be more than 20k out of pocket, they're ripping you off. I had a 3 tooth bridge implant that was around 2k which was high for that
Samuel Baker
Bad photoshop, GTFO.
Cooper Davis
You say this as if Sweden has any redeemable qualities whatsoever.
Your country is a dead man walking.
Nolan Green
I live in India, where a similar procedure, uninsured costs 25,000 rupees (cad $481). You could technically fly to india, get it done here, and go back for less money.
Jace Gray
>force population to pay for socialized medical care >do absolutely everything in their power to make it worse than fucking third world tier None of that would be a fucking problem if the quality was worth 30% of my income
Luis Williams
stfu I like this question
Zachary Thompson
>Does $4,500 to get one tooth replaced seem kinda high to you Nope that's about right. I had to have three replaced and it came out to about that.
Dylan Allen
In my country for 4500$ you can get like 10 teeth replaced
Adrian Ross
yup just checked ~380 / teeth
Sebastian Garcia
>implying roads and infrastructure are paid for with taxes and not from car registration fees
Jonathan Thompson
>take flight to Japan >$650 >get it fixed at local dentist who'll do a root canal and a crown >without insurance, pay $450 >fly back >bite piece of shit dentist's ear off
Charles Anderson
Europoor here
I got 5 screw ins for just over 5000eur
Not sure what that is in canadian.. but sounds like you're getting ripped off.
You can probably book a 5 day holiday to europe and get your dental work done there and it would still be cheaper overall (srs)
