Saturated fatty acids from plant sources aren't as bad for you (but still bad) because they contain significantly less cholesterol and trans-fats than their animal counter parts. Coconut meat also contains dietary fiber, whereas something like cheese doesn't.

You also seem to forget that butter and lard are all solid at room temperature as well.

Except that saturated fatty acids aren't an essential nutrient and you can live perfectly fine without them because the body can make all the saturated fat you need. The only fatty acids you need are polyunsaturated fatty acids (alpha-linolenic acid and linolenic acid).
