Squats require more balance and work more of your body than deadlifts because the center of mass is on your shoulders and there is a greater range of motion.

The only thing Squats don't work well is your arms, but OHP, Bench, Pull-ups, and Chin-ups take care of that.

Deadlifts are important, but they are not that important.

This is why most programs have very low deadlift volume (1x5 and not even every workout).

It has you deadlifting once per week, deadlifting more than 3x per week will fuck your CNS pretty hard
