Post all manner of fashionable historical clothes.
(Personal favourite of mine is the 18th century English/American gentleman suit)

Cravats and jabots look nice

>invents the modern suit
Psht nothin personal

One period i can't stand is 16th century fashion with overly baggy breeches, puffy shirts and silly ruffs
(Pic not related, i like puritan clothes)

18th century is probably the most patrician fashion. I sometimes put on clothing I have that looks vaguely like something out of the enlightenment (tricorn hat, high socks with my pants rolled up to the shin, etc.), and put on music by Handel and walk around my house pretending to be some gentleman scientist/philosopher from that era.

This is autism

Tricorn hats are beautiful although i dislike the ostentstious French style

I'm really tempted to send pic related to a bunch of girls with "this could be us but u playin"

Yeah, the British ones looked better. I like the ones with the gold trim or even just a simple dark fabric or leather one (like Jack Sparrow).

Sometimes when I'm really on the mood I dress up like that, put on baroque music, and read Principia by candle light.

Other times I listen to Handel's Coronation Anthems while wearing blankets like they're robes and a Burger King crown to pretend I'm the King.

Do you have a lot of historical clothes?
Could you post pictures of some of them?

Capotain hats look quite nice

The 1940s were pretty effay. I wish I could have this much style going in to combat.
>tfw ywn be in the French resistance and have meetings in a smoke filled basement where everyone is dressed in period clothing and has pencil mustaches

Really just some hats that I don't have pics of offhand.

I've got a red beret from the Germany army dated to the early 90s, a 1940s boy scout hat, a Wehrmacht helmet (grandpa brought that back from the war), some cheap ass tricorn I got on Amazon.

When I LARP in private I mostly just find random shit around the house to get into character.

Comparing yourself to the genius father of modern chemistry and his equally capable wife whom he respected is pretty ridiculous on your part then, no?

Kek, I actually am a physics student but I know I'll never measure up to someone like Lavoisier. The age of gentleman scientists like him, Newton, Darwin, etc. is dead anywas, it's all done by large teams with big data sets now.

It does sound pretty comfy, though, to be an accomplished scientist with a wife who's equally accomplished in her own field.

I genuinely wish i didn't take physics for university and did history instead.
I used to love physics but i hate it now

I couldn't see myself majoring in anything else, though I want to do planetary science for my career.

I like some of the history classes I've taken but it's something I'd only want to keep as a hobby.

So
They look nice

They could at least add some color and patterns. I hate how fashion has become so minimalist.

>equally capable wife
Lol ya

>Lol ya

Lol ya what? She was just as capable as her husband, with contributions both to his own work--in the lab and in the publishing sector, as well as her absolutely vital move of recovering all of his personal notebooks and reports after his execution to ensure their survival, and her continuing efforts in ensuring his work and legacy survived--and her own personal work in the chemistry and science field.

I absolutely love these uniforms, I also love the clothing of the period too, but there are no pictures of these sexy outfits.

Cavalier aesthetics coming through. Elegant yet not effeminate, refined yet practical, rich but not decadent.

I honestly prefer roundheads

Scotland

>tfw ywn autisticly rebuke someone by smiting them with your cane because they sinned before the Lord

Your arrogance is sinful

Early nineteenth is better.
Old Yankees were stylish.

Do you mean 1600s as thats the puritan time and

Sixteenth century is 1500s, user.
Besides, most people never dressed like Puritans.
Yeah, and another example is that painting of Joseph Smith

I worded that badly, you said the 16th century (1500s) and the puritans are the 17th century (1600s)

>you said the 16th century (1500s)
No, I didn't make that post. I was just correcting you.

1780s is best fashion to me.

Disgusting,

Ok, have it your way, even more capable wife

>not wanting to stand out, not wanting to show that you are well to do and can provide, not wanting to be fashionable.

You are the equivalent of someone who wears asics running shoes and baggy pants today.

I prefer puritan clothes
Simple colours, yet a tasteful design
