1lb a week is generally sustainable. 3500 calorie deficit in a week, 500 calories a day deficit. This is all theoretical and different people lose weight faster or slower.
I'm cutting now about 1000 calorie defecit because I'm fasting most of the day and it's easy for me to be in a big deficit. I'm just getting shredded fast for the end of the year.

Eat small portions. 250 cal for each meal. Eat something every three hours.
Take a fat burner.
At LEAST an hour of cardio, keeping your heart above 140 bpm, a day.
Starving yourself, from what I heard, slows down your metabolism and may even burn muscle away.
