Shoe lifts and their effects

sup Veeky Forums, 5'8" master race here. I have a couple month long interviews coming up, don't get bogged down in the details. I'm looking to wear shoe lifts or elevator shoes, but I'm probably going to be standing 8 hours a day at least during these interviews. I plan on unveiling my real height once someone hires me, in which case I'll be set for life and won't give a shit if they find out I'm shorter or that I wore shoe lifts. a couple things:
1. Will it be noticeable that I wear shoe lifts/elevators during that month?
2. what kind of effects on my Achilles and Hammies will wearing 3-4 inch inserts have?
3. will whatever effect be reversible once I stop wearing them?
4. is 8+ hours a day sustainable or will I no longer be able to stand afterwards?

>inb4 manlets, when will they learn
what is it we're supposed to learn exactly?

people can spot these instantly and they scream insecurity.
5'8" isn't even that short quit being a pussy.

KEK

When will they learn?

honestly I'm not insecure about my height, usually I couldn't care less. BUT since I need every advantage I can get, a few inches in height will definitely help me out when they're choosing one of us. I have the education and the personality to fit in, I just want to leave as little as possible to chance so I can nail this sucker down.
Looking around at anecdotes online, it seems like they're not noticeable except by relatives and friends, and that's only because they have seen you alot and have a good gauge of your height.
have YOU ever noticed anyone wearing them? how obvious was it?

As someone who is 5'8 and has conducted hiring interviews, you will look like an insecure clown if you wear lifts, they're fairly obvious at the 3-4 inch mark you seem to want. Stop falling for memes honestly.

boots usually have a 1/2 sole and a 1 inch heel, adding 1.5 inches to height. you can get casual ones or ones like this static3.businessinsider.com/image/59b6d34f45e238ee058b6754-800/cognac-suede-president864x600f954ddf6-f3ea-4508-9edb-875a743b4a13.jpg
Then add a 1 inch lift inside. This will add a total of 2.5 inches to your height.
Dont wear shoes with heels and then add lifts because it's obvious. There was a guy at college who would always try hit on me, he would wear cowboy boots that had a heel with lifts inside. You could tell because the length of his legs to the floor looked out of proportion with the rest of his body.

This is them learning user
Women have heels so it’s sort of the same

I understand the premise of seeming like an insecure idiot if you wear lifts. This is contingent on them being obscure. In the end, I'm not a woman so I can't obviously outright wear heels. what I wanna know is, can you honestly tell when someone is wearing lifts? I'm willing to keep it to 2 inches.
you're either a gay looking guy or a femanon. Tell me about the comfort and issues that come with wearing heels, as I'm assuming you do wear them. thanks.

>a few inches in height will definitely help me out when they're choosing one of us.
Only thing you'll manage is to look like an insecure faggot.
t. 5'7

my man, you can't deny "appearing tall" doesn't have its advantages. two people exactly similar in everything with a height discrepancy will always have the taller, easier on the eyes fella coming out on top. If you don't believe this, then you're in denial. at 5'8" I'm never the tallest in any given room but I'm no where near the shortest either.

i am a grill, and yes you can tell when guys are wearing 3 or 4 inch lifts, like I said your legs will look out of proportion in length to the length of your torso arms and shoulders. This will negate any good that the lifts do. Also wearing 3-4 inch heels puts pressure on the ball of your feet making them ache after a few hours. Only women who spend the majority of the time sitting down or care more about looking good than being in pain would wear them for work or a full day.

I already axplained how you can fraud 2.5 inches to your height putting you just shy of 5'11. That is a good height for a guy. 5'8 not so much. It also has the added benefit of not being too far from your real height so people wont notice some clownish reveal where you shrink 5 inches lmao... how autistic.

>I'm willing to keep it to 2 inches
ex retail drone here, elevating my heels a bit was good for me standing on my feet on fucking concrete all day. i was massively overweight back then and if I avoided leg, back, and foot pain you will be fine. If you want, take an ibuprofin before work, and give your foot a quick massage every two hours, though if you're on carpet and not concrete you may not need to do that

This is textbook autism folks.

5’7. I wear those on a daily basis in my business shoes. Lowest one available without the ads in’s. I think it’s about 1.2-1.5 inches. With a heel it’s one.

If you wear a blazer of a shirt it’s not obvious. Obviously if you wear a skintight tank top that cuts off at your waist you will look retarded.

Just do it. Haven’t noticed effects on my calves/hammies/ any other muscles or questions you asked. Brought girls back/ took shoes off around friends. No one gives a fuck/notices. Just do it.

T. 5’7 manlet in finance

2 inches it is then, seems like elevator shoes fit best this need since they incorporate a lift and a heal into a variety of styles. thanks for the tip m'lady

Not denying that, that's how it is.
Being shorter simply sucks, but wearing heels automatically puts you in the self-conscious group, which is worse than just being short.
Deal with what you are and work on the other 99.9% of things you could improve.

>5'8"
>master race
oh jesus my sides

it most definitely won't be carpet I'm standing on, the massages will have to be maneuvered but I can do them. but it seems like foot and back pain will definitely be something I have to maneuver. I can suck it up for a month.

Topkek

>5’8 isn’t tiny

Found the manlet.

thanks m8, i'm probably gonna stay at 2 inches max and hope for the best. 5'10 would be a nice boost in confidence, even if it is a placebo.

Wear cuban heeled shoes. I have a pair of tan suede 'beatle boots' with a bit of a heel that take me from 5'11 to the better side of 6' so I can occasionally indulge myself with the treat of being a human. The best thing about them is that you won't seem like a coping manlet since the height boost is hidden in plain sight.
Pic related. It's the style I own.

those boots actually look pretty nice

no no no
dont get elevator shoes. They look dorky and obvious. Get trendy brogues or loafers or dress boots that have a .5 inch sole and 1 inch heel then add an insert. I found some look this but only $70 for my husband levi.com/US/en_US/levi-neutral/p/771230505?camp=CAGPLA_DF:771230505011:LEVI

but that comes down to them being detected, seems like the consensus is 2 inches are fine as long as I don't make it obvious by wearing "revealing" clothes. I did my best on everything else, and I'm on par with my qualifications to everyone else, if not ahead.

Lifts won't help you when you sit at a table for the interview, retard.

Your height will only be a problem if you think it's a problem.

DW buddy- lots of people wear them. People just don’t admit it. You shouldn’t too. Not outside the steroid,SS and anime worshipping pit that is Veeky Forums anyway.

another question, I will be dressing in business attire, will the height issue show then at all?

this femanon is right. if you want a guide to appearing taller than you are you just have to study hollywood manlets like Tom Cruise. They haver perfected the art of appearing taller than you are.

won't be doing much sitting really, having comparatively good posture will level that out since everyone else is a slouch

Anyway, hope all goes well for you. Just know that no one buys the "I'm not insecure" bit.
Gotta work on those self-acceptance gains.

No, even out of your blazer the cut of business pants draw attention away from the shoes. Plus business shoes are brown or black. The former draw a sharp contrast to the suit away from legs. Latter merged into your suit anyway so a slightly longer leg doesn’t matter.

If you wear a blazer- which I’m guessing you do if you’re not in a tropical country- the cut of blazers emphasizes a wider upper body and attention away from the floor.

thanks senpai

that's good to know. I think I'm probably gonna try one of the shoes posted here for a bit, see their effect after a long day of standing.

Check’d. Good luck. For the record, you’re right on the height for results issue. All the women wear fucking 4 inches-6 inched when seeing a client. Appearance IS 80% of the game. Get all the advantages you can bb

What's the job anyway?

medical residency, surgery specifically. The reason I'm asking is because I'm gonna have to spend a month long rotation with the guys, if they like me, then I'm set for life. that's why I'm asking about sustainability and comfort/pain with entire days spent in the OR. I'm going to be doing multiple month long rotations, so I need to be able to function and look taller.

Why'd you bother with this?

this is not a real thing, now is it?

I wore 3 inch lifts through middle and high school until a Stacey called me out in front of all my friends and turned me into a huge laughing stock.

>Women have heels so it’s sort of the same

no it's not

Heels are sexy, this is just faggy
There are different standards for beauty for both sexes. I thought Veeky Forums would be the last board where I need to say this.

There are girl's high heels shorter than that bro. You'll be walking about like a drag queen.

Fuckin manlets. If you don't get the job, it's pretty obviously not because of your height but instead a failure in some area that's actually relevant to that job.

If you'd said you are going for some lucrative fashion job or something then I might have given you credence but not for this.

it's super competitive, any advantage helps. All other aspects of my application are top notch, I'm going for spot in a programs where the average height of their residents are between 5'11 and 6'2. Residencies are more about your compatibility and fit in the program than they are about credentials since everyone coming there is a super qualified medfag, so they nitpick who they want to work with for the next 5-7 years.

You could be applying for a job on wall street and height still wouldn't matter unless it was comically extreme. Trust me when I tell you you're deluded.

Welcome to the rest of life.
You're going to be judged on everything; height, weight, hair color, etc.
If you want to whine about that, buy tissues in bulk

you're retarded for not using everything in your disposal to improve your chances at anything.
no one is whining, I'm actively approaching the issue. stay in your moms basement troll.

I've known 5'6 faggots who got hired and are paid good money, the manlet meme is just a meme retard.

Dude, if a guy walked in wearing platforms I would instantly be like "I don't want to work with this guy, he is clearly on some other shit."

Damn you have no idea about the world

>muh anecdotes
irrelevant, I'm not mad about my height, you shouldn't be either. I'm just not letting it be a drawback so there's no doubt in my mind.
tall chad doctors have an easier time with everything, including interactions with nurses, attendings and even patients. If that isn't worth wearing lifts for a month, then I don't know what is.

no doubt in their mind*

Kek dont get 4.4 fucking inches, just get 2" lifts so it doesn't look ridiculous.
I cant imagine some 5'8" manlet with his proportions being 6'1" with 4.4" lifts and shoes

Not OP but google height/weight and income. I am sure the correlation is just a coincidence. Also google voice depth and income. I am sure that correlation is also just a coincidence.

My guess is you are in your early 20's and grew up in a middle to lower-middle class family. Or you work in retail.

...

Here: gain 5 inches no one will notice
increasingshoes.com/

Are those boots real? If this isn't shopped my sides will explode.

Why be so fucking insecure about your height. A LITTLE lift would have been unnoticeable, but he went too far man.. too far

Just looked it up.
LoooooL He's 5'8" and wears lifts all the time.

>He's 5'8"
He is DECLARED 5'8"... rest assured is closer to 5'6"

Lol buddy if you think wearing platforms isn't pathetic/weird and is in fact a rare species of cleverness then you're probably too autistic to employ anyway

You will never be tall and you will never be Chad, and walking round with your arse sticking out due to 4 inch heels for a job interview is not going to change that.

Way to make fun of the person who's given you the most useful advice.

Yes we can tell. Yes we will laugh at you for wearing lifts. But not for being short. So.

Congratulations you successfully described 99% of 4chans user base, how very insightful of you. I think any normal person would know that height is not a priority to employers. I run a company and the managing directors of the 2 biggest companies in the sector are both legit like 5' 4. In fact, everyone successful I have ever dealt with has been of an ignorantly normal height.

If height does anything for your chances of getting employed, it's involvement more likely boils down to how it shapes your personality over years, not how tall you happen to be on the day

I didn't make fun of them, they're getting hit on by dudes, which means either they look like a homo or they're a grill, or why else would a dude be hitting on them?

this dude. just be yourself with pride. I guarantee wearing shoes that make you look taller are going to do nothing but make you look insecure.

not OP but it's not about an employer. these rotations come down to likeability and the entire staff accepting you. if you rub one person the wrong way, regardless if it's an orderly or a chairman, you're toast at their program. it's not about someone seeing you and saying he's so tall I want him for the job, it's about people treating you better because you are taller and show you more preference and subconsciously be more friendly, hence you having a better chance at matching there.

heelies, literally.
