George Ayittey, the truest and most consistent intellectual of Africa.

a freemarket economist whos become very famous for his outspokenness regarding the economic solution to african problems. Many nations are economically enslaved to ngos like the imf

And they say colonialism isn’t profitable.

Haha dictators are cool :^)

Anyone who says it isn't needs to be gassed.

He doesn't blame the IMF for misleading African countries, as much as he does blame it for active and passive cumplicity with the poor leadership of African countries. The IMF and World Bank would most likely to see someone like him in control (he wants independent press, independent central banks, independent courts coupled with stronger property law, lower trade barriers, etc) but he, from where he stands, sees that foreign aid is mostly fuel for the opressive regimes.

Not a leader, but he should be.

This.

Ghaddafi's Libya had no hunger.

>so you chased out whitey, what are you going to do now
>create a stable, multiparty democracy, what else would I do?

Attached: Sam_Nujoma.jpg (346x544, 135K)

The odd thing is that he'd only be considered a mid-tier Middle Eastern ruler.

Africa sucks so badly that even Arabs have higher standards.

>sees that foreign aid is mostly fuel for the opressive regimes.
And it is.

Only did well because Libya's massive oil reserves are basically a license to print money. And even that was bungled compared to other Arab states with the same ability.

Besides falling for the land reform meme (which he didn't take that far anyway), he did pretty good. Academics won't sing his praises because he didn't do anything too radical with his power, but he built a place and a system that actually works and improves on itself, reliably.

Actually, Ayittey doesn't believe that the IMF is the cause.

Read "Indigenous African Institutions"

god i wish africa would kick out the do-gooders, purge who they need to purge, re-draw the maps and use their resources to develop.

there is so much room for improvement and they can do it themselves. i've known smart, hardworking, and friendly africans but the problem is they're over here making other people rich instead of improving their own homelands.

imagine a stable, clean, wealthy africa... an africa we can accept as an equal instead of a charity case.

maybe we just have to CRISPR a few thousand elites to run the show, and it can be possible.

Still probably in the top five African leaders.

The competition isn't particularly stiff.

He doesn't say it is like that. He says the IMF asks does ask for reforms, then African leadership does the bare minimum, IMF then rewards African leadership with more money which will be mostly pocketed by said leadership with a great deal of the remainder being used to perpetuate the opressive rule. Rather than seeing bad leaders as patsies for the IMF, he sees the IMF as patsies for bad leaders.

Am I wrong in thinking the following formula would work

>only give IMF aid to the 50% of countries that improved the most in the last two years
>hope that by having the countries compete each other rather than low IMF standards, things will improve faster

*vaccinates two million children in your path*

Attached: 7CF4C8AA-DAD1-4FAB-AA84-8F6B53B551EF.jpg (361x407, 40K)

That would probably turn into a vicious cycle, since the govs that get more money would have more cash to invest in development, even if they aren't really better govs than the ones that get less money to invest...

It is kind of like giving more money to schools that get better results. It makes good schools better and it makes bad schools worse.

that's a terrible idea, the whole reason Africa is shit is because of instability and war and now that it is over and their economies are developing you want to start new wars afresh

The only real answer.

Attached: Khama.jpg (239x211, 7K)

more wars = geometric progress instead of this incremental nonsense.
rwanda's doing the best of everyone. coincidence?

>Besides falling for the land reform meme

Still a pretty big issue due to mass unemployment and the sheer amount of land stolen during the German/South African rule.

That's an extremely childish way to think of such a horrible thing (war).

fucking this, everyone else is peasant tier

The thing with African lanf reform is that people always conveniently ignore others places in the world who also did mass land reform on top of ignoring the unique circumstances of each place.

>geometric progress instead of this incremental nonsense
Sounds like an excessive abstraction. Even if war would help Africa achieve ideal borders and stable power structures, that is not the only form of "progress".

More like *Downs Viagra with the blood of slaughtered husbands*

>bungled
Only reason the Saudis and UAE are doing well is because they are US oil slaves whose sole purpose is to sell oil. They are created and sustained by western imperialists while King Gaddafi was a big dick chad with an amazonian guard who didn't give a fuck about the west

>implying IMF policies don’t objectively hurt the countries they are imposed on and make it harder to develop and pay back loans

Attached: D6D02AB4-A4A3-426E-B3E6-769565970135.jpg (1050x550, 117K)

I know

Nothing wrong with CIA

So in summary, fucking with the US is a bad policy, and doing it makes you a bad leader.

But it makes you a huge chad and that's all that matters in the end

That's why I would make it a 2 year cycle, and make the metric improvement in the business environment rather than overall economic growrth.

So that if the government loses one year, there's still an incentive to reform over the next two years so they can make the next round of loans.

Keynes was literally behind the creation of the IMF retard.

>Amerimutts playing African characters
Please no.

Morgan Freeman did a good job as Mandela imo.

Haven't seen it. But Forrest Whitaker as Idi Amin was utter shit and Amerimutts even gave him an Oscar for it kek.

Attached: Go ahead, make my day.jpg (468x519, 41K)

That’s because Forest Whitaker wasn’t ruler of all the beasts of the land and fishes of the seas, nor was he conqueror of the British Empire in Africa in general and Uganda in particular.

Why pussy? He went down fighting. You're the pussy, faggot.

Only good answer.

I will add the King of Africa, Julius Nyerere

Any anti-commies in Africa who were actually victorious? Sese Seko comes to mind even though he was actually terrible and kind of a rogue in his faction during the Congo crisis.

Inspired by some commie mass murderer why should I care about him?

>mass murderer
Sankara saved millions of live idiot.

Don't like rubber or how it is obtained? Then walk everywhere, in crocs.

all propaganda, funny how you believe his propaganda but not the propaganda of every other dictator

Unless he was inspired by himself it doesn't make sense. But in reality it was Che Guevara which already makes him either a retard or a scumbag. And from what I'm reading they shared a similar view on liberty, regime and its relation to the population.
I actually don't think so poorly on Africa to consider any leader who wasn't a canibal to be good. Maybe he belongs to the lists like "Top 10 dictators who actually did something good" with Saddam Hussein feeding kittens at number 1.

Yo is that my nigga savimbi from Black Ops 2 ride on my nigga best campaign mission
