Madagascar History and Culture

It's a shame Madagascar isn't talked about, even in the Africa thread. Precolonial they seemed to be once of the most Westernized states in Africa, being Christian, Democratic, and taking up Western fashion within it's upper class. It also conducted international diplomacy, and maintained good ties with the US until the French invasion. How did one of the best countries in Africa go to one of the worst, was it just colonialism and socialism? Also, any idea why it's not talked about at all?

Well for starters they're not africans, they're jungle asians who somehow ended up all the way there.

> Ranavalona I
In 1845 Ranavalona I demanded that the entire court—along with a huge number of servants and slaves—go on a buffalo hunt. A total of 50,000 people set off to hunt buffalo. They carried with them very few supplies and had to build a road as they went as per Ranavalona’s orders. Many dropped dead from hunger and exhaustion, and it’s thought that around 10,000 people died during the 4-month-long hunt in which no buffalo were killed.

Niggers don't have any interesting history besides spear chucking
And selling each other into slavery

Not jungle Asians, more like Pajeets.

it was literally wakanda

n any case, Hanno's account influenced numerous other writers, among them Herodotus (c. 484-c. 420 b.c.). According to the Greek historian, Phoenician traders on the coast of Africa, probably in the region of modern Senegal, would land on an island and set a certain amount of goods on a beach, then return to their ships. The Africans would then place an amount of gold, which was plentiful in their area, next to the Phoenicians' goods. If the Phoenicians judged that it was a fair exchange, they would take the gold and depart. If they did not, however, they would leave their goods on the shore until the Africans brought out more gold. Once they had agreed on an exchange, the Phoenicians would take their gold and sail away.

Herodotus's description seems to be drawn from Hanno's, and centuries later

The Sahel
Three philosophical schools in Mali existed during the country's "golden age" from the 12th to the 16th centuries: University of Sankore, Sidi Yahya University, and Djinguereber University.

By the end of Mansa Musa's reign in Mali, the Sankoré University had been converted into a fully staffed University with the largest collections of books in Africa since the Library of Alexandria. The Sankoré University was capable of housing 25,000 students and had one of the largest libraries in the world with between 400,000 to 700,000 manuscripts.[5]

Timbuktu was a major center of book copying, religious groups,[6][7] the sciences, and arts.[8][9] Scholars and students came throughout world to study in its university. It attracted more foreign students than New York University.[8][10]

They’re a mix of blacks and Malayans, around 50% dna from each, some tribes with more dna on one side though

It went to shit when the French were forced out. My mother's side of the family had to flee, and surprise surprise they ended up in Macau and the same thing happened except the Portugese were forced out and red China came in, so time to flee again. I'm American, by the way.

Lot good that did for them lol.

Still black as Africans. Low IQ, shitskinned, savages who are taking over the white world

Ethiopia is pretty interesting to me. If we're talking about modern history, in Cold War (and post-Cold War world) almost every interesting politics and wars happened in Africa (including the infamous Rhodesia).

Why do you still respond to the bait of insecure whites?

Are they slightly intelligent boat niggers or are they subhuman landbridge niggers? It makes quite the difference.

Madagascar don't have any land bridge connected to Africa and majority of Madagascan are related to Austronesian more than African.

I find it amusing that african niggers doesn't even discover the island while some boatniggers thousand of miles away from Indonesia did it first

Blacks hadn't arrived in that part of Africa yet. The black colonization of Madagascar happened at the same time as the Malayan colonization of the island and lines up with the Bantu expansion into the area

Some Bantu navigated to the comoros and Madagascar, they mixed with some of them.

Infact there is multiple race in Madagascar, some are very "Africa" some are very "Asian"

>some are very "Asian"

Only a few are.

You're a dumbass, those are mixed Malgache descendants in Peru.
I've made a thread on Madagascar for like a year now.
Malagasy are all mixed, the lightest are mixed as are the darkest.

The language is a result of pre-landing mixed populations speaking a proto-malagasy. Then as time went on the west coast gained more Bantu related terms.

Over all its a very complication continuum of cultural relations
The people who built great Zimbabwe ended up founding a series of kingdoms on the West Coast dude.
