>weighted inhales
Please explain this. My belly breathing needs to be drastically improved.
I could google it, but hearing it and speaking to someone active in any field is nearly universally better to do.
t. Half chest-half belly breather
lie down, put very light on your belly, raise it purely by breathing. hold for a little and lower. do it AMRAP
Lil' Pump but unironically.
>All of these black metal songs
How old are you guys again?
Cane Hill
user you responded to. I dont actually do weighted inhales, but yeah, having a light weight on your belly lying down is probably the way to do it.
For me, practicing deep breathing often is all I need
It does wonders for lifters. I should know. I've seen footage.

I tend to loop 1. Dogma into Rip & Tear before a heavy set.
He'll yeah. I used to post the second track of the Deathpile GR lp partly for lulz on these types of threads but never got a bite.
These are old standbys for heavy lifting.

Honestly tho I've been getting into being ultra calm during heavy lifts so I've gotten into listening to a lot of more ambient stuff like Lussuria, Kassel Jaeger, Sutcliffe Jugend's later stuff, Internazionale, and Felicia Atkinson.
Power electronics is the patricians lifting music
My nigga
I like really spastic feeling music while i lift

Yeah, whenever ppl reply to my music posts they assume I'm kidding or trying to be a pretentious fag. I do like edgelord music, bt otherwise I like to consider myself somewhat well-adjusted.
I do have a selection of "trigger songs" from a couple different genres for those max effort sets, it makes a world of difference for me. It's kind of a trump card you can use at most twice per session, otherwise the buffing effect diminishes while debuff effects start to mount up. Outside of the max effort sets, I listen to something less intense or just go through my podcast backlog.
It would be nice and convenient if I could do the heavy work sets without psyching myself up and using a gimmick like music, but this is the only way I can guarantee that I can hit the numbers and advance in my program.

I lift to Minecraft
I'm not really a metalhead by nature but there is nothing better to lift to than this shit:
youtu.be
youtu.be
youtu.be
youtu.be
it's clipping, bitch.
Yeah, man. Nothin wrong with edgelord muzak. I've learned to really value being made to feel and be exposed to new ideas and feelings (getting into de Sade and Peter Sotos around the same time as noise helped bring it all first circle), so I can listen to Xenophobic Ejaculation or some ultra-right nationalist noise and be like, "Hey, this is cool even if I'm not totally on board with what they're saying." But I'm sure a lot of noise is like gangsta rap where the dudes aren't all committing tons of crime. Just theatrics, ya know?
I used to always get psyched out before heading to the gym when I knew the session was going to be difficult. But when I tried the Bulgarian Method where I was always squatting and benching max or near-max weights, I learned to adapt and be cool for max-effort lifts because, well, I had to because I was fkn hitting 90-95% on squats and bench multiple times a week.
I'm also into hardcore/hc punk so on the occasion when I do need to get psyched up a bit, I'll usually put on the Impalers LP, the Gas Rag LP, or Full of Hell if ur into that kinda sheeit.
