Working out in the morning?

Alright lads, on Thursday I will hit the gym early in the morning instead of going in the evening and I will keep this schedule for at least 3 months. Any tips?

i find i get really hungry during the workout if i dont have anything earlier. but at the same time i cant eat too much or Ill just feel sick during. i find that a protein shake with some fast carbs do the trick. anyone else got a better solution?

I'm thinking of oatmeal porridge with whey mixed in. It's my usual breakfast. Then I can just wait an hour or so before starting my workout.

That’s sucks op, rip gains

too long to wait before training. i get up and straight to my home gym.

name?

i often work out around midday/in the morning and have no problems. eat a little bit before hand and you'll be gold

I have a bowl of oatmeal, maybe half a banana, and some coffee and I regularly hit the gym in the morning right after that.
Fast carbs, but not too big of a meal

4am gym-goer here. I enjoy a sugar free red bull, a bronkaid, and a 200mg caffeine pill on the way. It's about a 10 minute drive. Arrive at gym, unpack bag into locker, take big dump, head upstairs to floor, commence stretching, then compound lifts. Place is fucking empty. Pic related, it's my gym at 4am. Literally like me and five other regulars in the whole place. You'll never go back to evenings.

how long is the workout and do you get hungry? i find without some sugar lining my stomach i get light headed.

>Any tips
go to bed early

meal prep ur breakfasts

Go to sleep earlier and take a nodoz when you wake up. I go to the gym around 5AM usually, have been for about 9 months now, and it's not that hard once you adjust. Just don't be dumb and try to stay up to midnight then workout well the next day.

Also the gym will be empty and it's fucking great, best motivator for that time I can think of.

Cycling road racer here, OP. Started getting up at 4am during this last summer to get my training in before it got hot. Kept doing that all through the fall.

Make sure you get up early enough so you have time for your body to get going. Have a coffee or something when you get up to help with that and a light breakfast (you can always eat more when you get home again). Plan on arriving as soon as your gym opens (unless they're open 24 hours that is) so there'll be as few people as possible there (get your workout done quicker).

I've also noticed that having to be at work after training is done helps keep you on track and get it done more vigorously than otherwise. Also helps that you're fully rested when you get there rather than having slogged through an entire workday.

>hasn't take the keropill yet

Srs though, I used to be the same way. Now when I feel hungry it isn't debilitating like it used to be.

what is the keropill?

Are you saying you take a huge whiff of kerosene as preworkout on the drive to the gym?
Should i do this?

>You'll never go back to evenings

False. I'll eventually go back to evenings because I'm a night owl.

Morning lift is best lift

I wake up at 5:30 most mornings and immediately eat raw broccoli dipped in peanut butter then half a dose of C4. 15 minute motorcycle to gym and I'm fully awake by that point. One of the best parts is that you will see the same people at the gym every morning. Morning goers are dedicated.

Workouts are about two hours, and I eat in the office around 7 or so. I go on an empty stomach because otherwise I'd just feel leaden and bloated. I'm sure you could have a snack or something beforehand to manage the hunger/line your gut.

I usually get sweaty even after cooling down and taking a shower, makes applying deodorant at work a must.

Started going to the gym at 6:30 every morning two months ago, love it. It's way easier to get your shit done and get out. I also like to go there on a fast. It's hard at first, but you acclimate to doing it.
