Slowcooker is harder to clean. But, really it is for just setting it and leaving it. I usually experiment by throwing some meat and veggies in with various spices and see what happens. Some good things I've made in there are Indian Lamb, Mexican Chicken is always cheap and easy. For example throw some chicken thighs and breasts in with some chicken stock, taco seasoning, jalepenos, onions, corn, beans, and wa la, you have multiple meals.
Slow cooker chili > regular pot chili
Get the slowcooker and the plastic bags to fit. No mess, easy meals that you can portion out.
Can you cook chicken in it? Without pre-frying the chicken
Fucking this. Slow cookers are also a godsend if you don't want to spend more than 15mins preparing a meal.
There are some pretty good recipes on youtube. Lasagna is pretty good. But usually all my shit comes out tasting pretty bland and I end up using sauce. Its all healthy as shit tho
Slowcookers are incredible. They cook at a lower temp than an ordinary pot on the stove. I don't know the reasoning behind it all, but with slowcooking you can pretty much just add ingredients and walk away, and it automatically makes a great meal with no effort.
I recently got an instant pot, which can do what the slow cooker can, but in less than an hour.
Yes. I have only used slow cookers for chicken and beed. Season, cover, and forget. With my beef, I generally mix up some seasoning, stab holes all over the meat, massage it in, and put in the slow cooker. I add water to the seasoning bowl to make juice which I pour into the slow cooker, covering about a third to half of the meat. Leave for 8 hours, and its soft as fuck. I used to do it all the time, but now I don't use it much.
slowcookers have timers, so you can literally throw shit inside of it and go to sleep without setting your house on fire
here is a recipe
>0.5lbs of chicken thighs
>3 diced tomatoes
>1 carrot
>1/4 green pepper
>200g chickpeas
>5 cloves of garlic
>1 onion
>10ml lime juice
>green onions
low heat for couple hours
>the crockpot taste
I noticed this wit my meals as well. Qick google tells me it has to do with overcoocking and denaturalizing meat/ protein. Bummer.
But there's gotta be a solution.
Anyone?
I should add that when I cooked chicken, I basically seasoned the chicken first, then poured a jar of salsa into the slow cooker with the chicken, then left it to cook overnight for 8 hours again, so I had dank food in the morning.

The Instant Pot. It's a life-changing device.
If you're just cooking for yourself, get a rice cooker. It can work just like a slow cooker but builds slight pressure, is smaller and cooks faster. They're also easier to clean as the tub comes out. I have a complete kitchen at my disposal and it seems the only appliances for cooking/prep that I use are my toaster oven, rice cooker and blender since I'm only cooking for myself usually. You really don't need much to eat extremely well.
Voila
Do yourselves a favor and learn how to properly cook guys. Reading this thread just makes me sad.
You sound like a working class chump. I bet you thought it would be a great "investment", how you would wake up to a warm, healthy breakfast to start off your long day. Maybe, you even had a couple thoughts about all the other nifty little uses you could find for the thing, how it would help you cook healthier meals in general, shed a couple pounds off the old gut, boost your confidence around work and with the ladies. Yeah, maybe that slow cooker would start your life cooking again, wouldn't it? I can see your strained hands holding the box and reading through it carefully at the store. A little bit pricey, but you're the type of guy who thinks everything is more than you can spend, aren't you. And look what happened to you. Look what the slow cooker did to you. Fucked you over, and made you clean it like a useless bitch. You don't even fucking like oatmeal. Piece of shit, you've been repeating those three words your whole life, haven't you. Yeah, how was work after that piece of shit fucked you over? I bet it was on your mind the whole day, you probably didn't say shit to nobody. Can't be telling people about your mistakes. How your little fix yourself plan, failed you. Don't want people to start thinking you're the failure. You're the piece of shit, all along. You don't want that do you? You don't want to be the piece of shit everybody secretly whispers about, do you? Was your father a piece of shit like you? I bet he never had a slow cooker. He had a woman, a house, a damn good job. I bet it's slow cooking you the fuck alive, isn't it. Comparing yourself to him. How one day when all the steam runs our of your life, you'll discover how you're nothing more than burnt shit to be scrapped off and thrown in the trash.
Ah it's been too long.
