I was 264 at over 50% when I found Veeky Forums. I got advice from incredible people. Im 174 at 17% now and I get advive 1/10 of the time I post. Veeky Forums was never good but oy vey, at LEAST you got tips while people tore into your ass. Now people just eat ass.

OP, I think I've hit on the real problem with Veeky Forums.

Since 2007, when it started getting real media attention, more and more so-called 'normies' started coming here, in a futile attempt to distinguish themselves from the rest of the normie clones. The problem is they brought their normie 'values' and 'culture' with them, and merged those with the meme-machine and the 'internet hate machine' culture that originally was Veeky Forums. Then as Veeky Forums caught on more and more it became MAINSTREAM instead of the fringe element it once was when Moot started it as a teenager.

Now Veeky Forums is fully mainstream; it's essentially turned into another form of 'social media' (like Facebook or Twitter), except entirely anonymous, so there isn't even the checks-and-balances associated with having a login account's reputation to protect; you can say anything here and you're guaranteed to have thousands see it, but you're not in any way accountable. So we get lots of shitposting that would never happen on Facebook, Twitter, or anywhere else in social media.

To make matters worse, Japmoot and the mods can't police this place worth shit, and frankly I don't think Japmoot gives a shit so long as he's making profits off the ads and Pass sales; he, essentially, is a gigantic faggot.
