I learned a trade myself and I learned to fish and hunt by myself too, I'm now learning how to work on cars because I want to pass my skills to my children. I don't necessarily want my children to follow me in my trade but I at least want to teach them the basics and what working hard means so they can work on their house and their cars themselves. I think a parent's job is not just to provide food and shelter for their children but also to put them ahead in life as much as possible and I think that mentality died when baby-boomers became parents.
