Against someone who isnt very proficient in using his gun a knife is actually the better weapon. Assuming the distance isnt +10meters.

I once saw a youtube video of some skilled "operators" (lel that word) and basically the conclusion was that below a certain distance the knife wins. The best choice you have as a gun wielder is actually to lie down on your back as that gives you an extra 0.5-1 to get your weapon out and shoot.
