Entirely depends on the place, but I don't see why not. I have brought water to the sauna/steam room before. Some have water dispensers with little cardboard pyramid cups. They don't want the liability issies of someone passing out due to dehydration.
There will likely be a locker before the sauna, just leave your stuff there if you can't bring it.
I tend to bring a book when I go, or sometimes just daydream.

what kind of sauna is that. sounds like some "steam room". a proper sauna heat would be 75-100 degrees celcius :D your book would melt in there

Other Swede here. I've seen them, however if they do they also have gender separated saunas as well.

Mostly people have a towel around their waist still. But yeah it happens, I'd say there's a fair chance there's one naked guy in the sauna if you go.

Well yeah, but none of the major national gym chains have gender neutral saunas.

As for non-scandinavians not knowing how to sauna, shame.
- Yes, you are supposed to be naked.
- Bring a towel to sit on.
- If for some reason it's a gender neutral sauna, tie the towel around your waist.
- Drink water.

Good for blood circulation, gets rid of dirt in skin ("black heads") and you sweat out a bunch of toxins in general.

Also shower before you get in the sauna.

The do exist. I've seen one at my local bath house.
The sauna itself i huge though and you can't see anybody because of the mist is really thick.
Also it's in northern sweden where women wont get raped by kebabs.

i have been to several saunas in europe. have one myself also. some are unisex, some are naked unisex. commonly they are unisex but clothes required or seperated and not allowing swimtrunks. (for hygenic purpose).

In a sauna you sit and sweat, u can read a book or chat with a friend. water is allowed and ideal to bring.
homesauna is the best tho, because you can fuck in it. as long as you have a fuckable temperature and loads of cold water.

I don't doubt that circulation matters. I doubt that saunas create a measurable, statistically significant improvement in circulation.

Any time I have asked a person that has claimed something "removes toxins" they have given a vague answer like this without specifics.
