Of course women have better mental health. Society is based around protecting women and their feelings. Listen to current music. Watch current movies. Read current books/articles. All of it has at least some reference to female empowerment in it. There's are thousands of women's shelters. There are women's only gym hours to protect their self esteem. There are whole college degrees focused on protecting women's mental health.

Men on the other hand are told to be stoic and mature and forced to accept that society needs someone to blame and do the work that keeps communities functioning.

Sometimes you get men who can't come to terms with that. If school shooters had an activist group telling them they were oppressed and validating their perspectives, they wouldn't happen half as often. If depressed men saw movies celebrating what it means to be a man and hearing songs talking about how fantastic masculinity is there would be 1/3 less successful suicides.

Sadly, society needs a scapegoat for the fact we can't get along and create some fucking circle jerk utopia. Men are that scapegoat. Men shut up and bite bullet so others can have better, cushier lives.

I wouldn't say that "just snapping" is a fair description. Putting aside all of the crutches and differences that women have in terms of social interaction, men and women deal with emotions in a much different manner, probably because of estrogen.
