The age old question

Should one deadlift once or twice a week?

as much as you want desu

How is time an abstract concept

If you're new enough to think there's a definitive answer to this question, 1.

You can do twice a week as a brand new new lifter and as an experienced and "hormonally enhanced" lifter.

Anywhere in between I'd say once a week though, unless it's lagging behind and you need to run torture sets to get it up to speed.

Can you hold it? Can you eat it? Can you wear it as a hat?
It's abstract not only because it's noncorporeal, but because it is an action presented as an object. That object of time is a concept.

5 times a week or youre pussy

easier way to imagine if something is an abstract concept

could an animal understand it?

You muscle-bound maniac, you can't do it 5 times a week. There are limits to the human body that can't be crossed and you're dancing in quicksand there. Fuck all your muscles! Jack off more.

That's a conversation about sapience. But probably. And probably not. They may not try to hold the object of time in their heads, but they understand cause and effect perfectly well. In other words, I've got no fucking idea.

That's a terrible criterion and you should be ashamed. Animals can't understand bullet trains, kindly jump in front of one. You'll be fine since they're immaterial ideas of public transport apparently

>they think animals are capable of abstract thought

dude come on

why i do it like 5 or 6 times a week

YOU MUSCLE-BOUND MANIAC, I want you to masturbate. I don't want you to jack off. I don't want you to jack off jackin' off. I want you to jack off while jackin' off your jack off.

Depends on per session volume.

I do my heaviest 5x5 possible on mondays
And on thursdays, I'll do a lighter 5x5 maybe about a whole pl8 (90lbs) lighter.
Is that good or bad?
Opie here btw

Could you be any more of a fucking cretin? Nowhere did I imply that animals are capable of anything; to the contrary, I pointed out the completely uncontroversial fact that there are innumerable physical, material, absolutely non-abstract things that animals also don't understand, and as such their understanding (or lack thereof) is a shitty criterion for abstractness.

No jokes this time since you apparently don't understand them: fucking kill yourself for the good of our species.

Should be fine. I used to do pulls 5 days a week Granted, it's a different exercise, but then again they are arguably more taxing.

You can do one set of deadlifts for every onion you eat. Per week, of course

After a few months of lifting, I could only manage one set per week. But then I’m a trans girl who eats estrogen so...

why are you so rude?

>willingly making yourself weaker
shiggy

"Pulls"?
What is?

how much is lighter?

.....2 pl8
Don't laugh. I've only been lifting since october...

Anyone can do up to 3 days per week, but with significantly decreasead intensity
Look up nuckols' 28 programs

they are man, octopuses can express gratitude and things of that nature. they absolutely understand things in abstract terms, its just not conveyed with language. chimps understand abstract concepts too, as do Gorrilas

What does “shiggy” mean??

Honestly, how long have you been browsing this website?

too long, lol.

I'm in academia and I have to pretend to respect stupid undergraduates no matter how much they don't deserve it. I take my frustration out on strangers anonymously via the internet where there are no educational or professional consequences. Better than winding up in front of some title 9 kangeroo court for harassment, right?

two if your CNS can handle it and you have hit a plateau

most people can progress on one session of 1x5 per week, gains in squat and barbell rows help progress the deadlift anyway

Look up ishygddt on urban dictionary or something.

okay but at the end of the day you're just filled with rage and my feelings get hurt, so neither of us win. why not just lift the rage away?

Unless you want wide hips and chronic back pain later on in life, 0 days per week.

Stick to low weight back extensions and hamstring curls.

I tried twice a week for a while, my routine is pretty high volume but after like a month of that I started stalling on DL and Squat and feeling fucking beat in general. Dropped it down to doing on only one of my pull days and it's much better, even dropped the number of sets too. I've realized there is some reasoning behind SS's one set of DLs although I do more than that

is he dead?

I will tomorrow; today is a rest day. Nobody wishes more than me that I didn't have more rage than training days, but here we are. You really shouldn't let what strangers on the internet say hurt your feelings, though. I'm just words on a screen to you, my opinion doesn't matter.

I socialize on here because where I live, there aren't many people to socialize with. So when people tell me to kill myself, that's 40% of my social interaction for the day. Words on a screen are still words that I absorb

building on that, there's practically no downside to being a nice person. so why not just be nice?

don't go to Veeky Forums then. you should expect to be told to kys on here regularly

All the more reason to develop a thicker skin. If you're going to spend that much time here the sooner you realize that 80% of the userbase are trolls, degenerates, misanthropic fucks like me or some combination there of, the better off you'll be.

3 times every 2 weeks on SL was pretty nice. But I only got to 3pl8

You can recover perfectly fine from twice a week. I did bulgarian (heavy deadlift every day) for two weeks and added 40kg to my pull. Also, if you want to train dl once a week, ensure you have RDLs/block pulls/rows/power cleans programmed.

If they understand their schedule, their hibernation period, then they understand time too.

Once every two weeks. Each week alternate deads and rack pulls

Post tits.

This is wholly incorrect and flies in the face of modern philosophy and metaphysics. Time and space are a priori functions of the brain, and they are the foundations of every thing that can be said to "exist" within our empirical realities.

There is no such thing as time, only change.

Time is how we measure change. The same way we can measure a centimeter but a 'centimeter' doesnt exist.

we dont even understand time completely yet you bunghole

The smartest responses itt

Continental handwavy metaphysician pls go

McTaggart pls go as well, I don't know if you've read anything on the subject since 1908 but in case you haven't let me spoil the ending for you: the B theorists won.

Pic related. Putnam judges you from the grave.

It would be even better if the image loaded. Maybe this time

>Continental handwavy metaphysician pls go
not and argument, try again

Yeah except you're wrong. Time is a form of measurement. Its a concept not a physical aspect.

Time is a form of measurement you fucking moron.

We can look at the watch and tell the time, you retard. Unless you're an uneducated nigger.

Idk, but I do heavy deadlifts once a week and RDLs twice a week.

As entertaining a prospect as rehashing the last century of debate on this topic for the benefit of people who can't google is, I'll only be baited into spoonfeeding so much.

Extra credit: look through the bibliography and find the articles about how your position is inconsistent with contemporary physics.

Have a nice thread, brainless.

>I don't know how to argue the subject because I'm not even sure what my position is, so I'll just link an SEP article
You're a brainless coward

...

>Note: This entry does not discuss the consciousness, perception, experience, or phenomenology of time.
BTFO by your own source LMAO

stuck at 120kg for my dl, grip keeps giving out and my legs are "literally shaking" when getting the bar off the floor, any tips?

dude, i get this. i teach at university also, a lot of these kids are so fucking dumb yet they act like the most entitled, selfish cunts you can imagine, like everyone owes them the world on a platter just for fucking rolling out of bed and showing up. and yeah, title IX is fucking bullshit and gets worse every year.

>t. two digit IQ

Learn to deadlift. Start with the JTS series on youtube. And stop training at your max, you're engraining shitty motor patterns.

How is your lower back feeling

It feels very stiff sometimes which can be painful. How to I heal it faster?
Should I take muscle relaxers?

>So when people tell me to kill myself, that's 40% of my social interaction for the day

Kek what a life

I found that doing basically max pull 5x1 2 times a week was good, 3was too much.

Interedasting

>deadlift
>once or twice a week
How about four you fucking pussy

myofascial releasee with a tennis ball helps me loads

But they don't understand it, they've just adapted to do it as a means of survival. When you learned to walk did you do understand the biomechanics behind it? Of course not, yet you did it anyway. How? Because of imitation and a genetic predisposition for walking.

Nah just do less volume, those muscles can't handle too much

I want to become strong enough to defeat El hermano

Weightlifting, the classics or their variations.

If 200kg once.

Wrong. Time passes independently from change occurring or not. Dumbass.

twice. the gluteus is the most important muscle on a man.

I do heavy conv DL once a week and a lighter RDL once a week

PPLPPLx
twice
one is sissy deadlift day
the other is fuck my shit up day
this is valid only in Newtonian models, but contemporary physics showed us that gravity, time and mass are all tightly related.

You can't use modern to signify both the historical epoch which has been finished for a century and also use modern to signify correctness and authority.

Modern does not mean contemporary
