When I used to play league of legends, I would do sets of curls, etc. between each game. I know it's not as effective as a proper routine, but doing 160 reps a night is better than doing 0.

How did I do today /fat/? Just started using My Fitness Pal and I’ve found it to be extremely beneficial.

Guys, I need to ask for your unprofessional opinions.

Quick stats: 5'9" and 356lbs today. Just got on the scale this morning. I've got hypo and a pituitary tumor, of which I'll have the surgery to remove this summer (hopefully). I don't know if mentioning that is important, but we'll get there.

I look fat. I have back rolls, stomach fat, etc... But there are people who are taller and weigh less than me who visibly look worse. Who look wider and who spill out more, and who wear bigger clothes than me. I wear a 2X, shirts and pants. And that's not something to be proud of, but other people who weigh that much wear 4-5X clothing. It's not like I'm trying to squeeze into smaller sizes, the clothes fit me and are sometimes a little baggy. It seems weird.

Does anyone else get this? Do you weigh more than you think you look or wear smaller clothes compared to others who weigh just as much as you? Muscle isn't really a thing, I have a fair amount in my legs but my upper half is just flab. I don't think the health problems would have anything to do with that, weight is weight regardless of how it gets there. I'm a stocky human being but let's not bullshit ourselves here, nobody gets fatter because of bones.

I guess to make post relevant, my first goal is getting to 225 by next year. I'd like to lose at least 30 lbs in 3 months, but I'll take what I can get. The weather has been miserable here, but when it clears up I believe I might go on longer walks to take up bird watching. I like birds.

Hypo classically causes water bloat, and water has a crazy high impact on scale weight. The people you're comparing yourself to may have slightly more actual fat.

There's also two kinds of fat. There's the visible kind, stored under the skin (subcutaneous), but then there's also visceral fat, stored around internal organs, and so less visible... and also far more dangerous, health-wise. Others may have a larger proportion of subcutaneous fat than you.

Then there's distribution of subcutaneous fat as well - some people store relatively more gut fat, others more ass/leg fat, which also will affect how you look.

If you use frozen fruit while making a smoothie, you get the consistency of a milk shake. Be sure to use skim or almond milk, both 80 calories. Cottage is really good too but get the low fat, shit tastes the same, I just switch between cottage cheese and peanut butter for protein ingredients in smoothies etc.

Take a cheese grater to a head of cauliflower and, boom, you've made veggie rice. Much better on calories and cooks just like rice. I throw a couple of eggs, some ground ginger, coconut amino acids (a great soy sauce substitute), and the riced cauliflower into a skillet and tastes better than regular fried rice.

You'll notice face gainz after the first 20 lbs. Take a photo of yourself at regular intervals of weight loss (not time). For example snap a pic at 236 then 216 and 196 and so on. You wont notice shit looking at yourself in the mirror every day.

Pecs are fine if still a little fatty on the underside. Probably have gyno. I run a bro split. Chest day has weighted dips in sets of 10,8,6. Plus flat, incline, and flies.

I've always had a big chest. Used to be in good shape in highschool and college.

I make a variety of things.

I do low carb so if I eat cauliflower rice I prepare it as fried rice, spanish rice, or a risotto. If you want to pair rice with chicken you could make curry, a stir fry or a burrito bowl. You can also always just prepare your chicken and rice like you like them and add a side of vegetables to make a meal.

Is eating at maintenance once a week to stop a plateau a good idea? My calorie deficit normally is -1600ish (900 vs 2500 TDEE) and I force myself to do about an hour of walking each day.

I plateaued for about a week after losing 20lb so I could just be a bit paranoid about that not happening again.

I ate about 600 calories worth of tuna and rice today and don't feel hungry at all but it's already 8pm. You guys think I should eat something anyway?

For reference I normally eat 1200 calories a day, with under 30g of healthy fat, whereas on a weekly cheat day I usually eat 2000 calories and 100g of fat.

If you don't care, then give them up. That's an extra day a week or whatever of cutting. Good for you! That is, as long as your body doesn't mind. It may be in starvation mode if you're dieting wrong (which, at 1200/day, you probably are) and a cheat day is actually helping tell your body "it's OK, you'll get food, just chill out and don't store every damn calorie as fat).

Find your TDEE. Reduce that number by 15%; that's your cals/day for cutting. Do that every day with no cheat days, then.

No I never really have cheat days or meals, at least I never have one I consider as such.
I don’t really count calories, although I usually have a rough idea of how much I eat.
I just eat basically whatever I want for my one meal a day, and that’s very rarely an amount that would put me above my TDEE for the day. I don’t care if it happens once every couple of weeks without me noticing it.
It’s all about moving in the right direction in a way you are happy and satisfied with.

Holy moly this feels good, I should have gone shopping earlier but I was so afraid of backsliding and losing progress.

Used to be an alcoholic for like 4 years. Every day 6-12pk IPA/ice beer. Pretty sure that's how I ballooned nearly 40lbs in that time (im short so it's worse). I stopped drinking in December and started doing a keto-esque diet of high protein low carb. I lost 30lbs since then and I drink once a month. I drank last night and regretted it, just made me really depressed immediately and feel as useless as I did back then.
