neither vitamins nor minerals have anything to do with calories, and insulin response is something that fat fucking diabetics have to worry about, not healthy strength athletes.
if you have your macros down and all micros are covered, and all you need for the day are additional calories to meet your goals, then it does not matter at all whether those calories come from a pound of rice, a bunch of fried bacon, or a can of sugar water.
